Shoe and Tire Impressions
Impressions made by shoes or tires may be two or three dimensional. They include impressions made in dust, blood, mud or snow. These impressions may be identified as having been made by a particular shoe or tire through the comparison of unique characteristics which result from damage, extreme wear and/or attached foreign objects. Two dimensional impressions may be enhanced for visualization through the use of light, photography, and/or the application of chemicals. Three dimensional impressions may be collected and preserved for comparison through the use of photography and casting.
