HOW DO I REQUEST PUBLIC RECORDS?
Alaska state law requires state and local agencies to make public records available to the public.
This law, the Freedom of Information Act, AS 40.21.010, gives the public the right to inspect the state’s public records.
Your public information request must include a reasonable description that would allow the assigned employee to locate the records.
A general question is not a public disclosure request.
Here’s how to request public information from DPS:

After filling out the form (electronically or by hand):
- Return it by submitting the electronic form.
- Return it by emailing email@example.com
- Return it by mail to:
