A Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Ketchikan Case number: 09-92940 Type: MVC-D Text: On 10/14/09 at 0011 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a single motor vehicle collision with a utility power pole, near mile 3.3 of the South Tongass Highway. AST and the South Tongass Fire Department responded to the scene. Investigation found the sole occupant/driver, Logan R. Hooker age 24 of Ketchikan lost control of his 2000 Ford pickup while driving northbound on the South Tongass Highway causing approximately $4000.00 to the truck. Damage estimates to the utility pole is approximately $2,000.00. Logan was issued a traffic citation and later released from the scene. Text: On 10/13/09, at approximately 1900 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle that had collided with another occupied vehicle and was fleeing the scene. Investigation revealed that Matthew Blum, age 25, of Wasilla was traveling northbound on the Glenn Hwy in his 2007 Toyota Tundra when he collided with Christopher Worland's vehicle. Worland, age 25, of Wasilla, was driving his 2000 Ford Explorer. Blum fled the scene of the collision traveling at speeds over 100 MPH weaving in and out of traffic causing other drivers to take evasive action. Blum was arrested and for Reckless Driving and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Blum was held on $7,500 bail. Investigation revealed that an unknown person(s) entered the residence through a front door that had been broken open. Multiple items were taken from the residence including flat screen TV's, computers and cameras. The damage to the residence is estimated at $250.00. Investigation is on going. Investigation revealed Christopher Dickson, age 25, of Selawik, assaulted his girlfriend and her daughter during an argument. Troopers arrived in Selawik and arrested Dickson for Assault 4-DV on both females. Dickson was also charged with MICS 6 for possessing a marijuana pipe. He was transported to Kotzebue Regional Jail where he was remanded without bail. As a result of the compliance check 3 individual in various villages were found to currently be out of compliance with their Alaska Sex Offender Registration requirements. Those persons were later confirmed to be out of compliance with the State of Alaska Sex Offender Registry. The individuals found to be out of compliance are identified as John Nagasiak (age 40 of Bethel), Joseph Mochin (age 42 of Nunapitchak and Charlie Karl (age 39 of Toksook Bay). Attempts were made to contact all parties. Subsequently charges on all the above named individuals will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for Prosecution. Sometime in the last 3 weeks suspect(s) stole a 1985 Ford F250 diesel PK from 4573 Moose Creek Road in North Pole. The PK has a spot light mounted on the driver side windshield post. The PK had not been driven in approximately 2 years and it needed some mechanical work to drive it. The PK is an extended cab with partial seats in the back. The cab only has two doors. The group experienced engine trouble after leaving Oscarville by boat on the evening of 10/7/09 en route to Tuntutuliak.
