B Detachment -------------------------------------- Location: Palmer Case number: 09-95457 Type: Felony DUI, DWLR Text: On 10-22-2009 at approximately 2339 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted Matthew Ryan Schadek (age 31 of Anchorage) during a traffic stop at the Glenn Highway and W. Arctic Ave, in Palmer after the vehicle he was driving was reported as a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) vehicle. Investigation revealed Schadek was operating the vehicle while impaired and under the influence of alcohol and with a revoked driver's license. Schadek was arrested, transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set a $20,000.00. Tickett was subsequently arrested without incident and transported to Kotzebue Regional Jail with no bail pending arraignment. Alcohol was a factor during the incident. Stephanie T. Ware of Delta Jct. and her five children were traveling westbound on Remington Rd. when a bull moose entered the roadway. Ware was unable to avoid colliding with the moose. Investigation revealed Ted Archer age 63, of Soldotna passed away in his sleep. No signs of foul play were observed at the scene. The State Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and released the body to Peninsula Memorial. Next of kin was on scene.
