B Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Glennallen Case number: 09-96247 Type: MICS 4, MIW 5, Resisting Arrest Text: On 10-25-09 at approximately 1938 hours, AST received a report that Edward Macy, 39 yoa of Glennallen had a warrant for his arrest and was at a residence near mile 110 Richardson Hwy. AST confirmed that Macy had two outstanding warrants. AST arrived at the residence and contacted Macy. Macy was told he was under arrest and when AST attempted to place him in custody Macy refused and resisted. Once in custody Macy was found to be in unlawful possession of prescription pills and an automatic opening knife. Macy was transported to the Glennallen Jail and held until arraignments. Investigation determined that the deceased was, Edward Knoebel (2-19-24), who was found un-responsive in his bed. There were known health problems and Expected Home Death (EHD) paperwork was on file. SME was contacted and Knoebel's body was released to Everett Funeral Home. Next of kin was on scene, and no foul play is suspected. Investigation revealed Wilfong was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and had Marijuana in his possesion. Wilfong was arrested for DUI-Drugs and MICS 6. Text: On 10/22/2009, the Alaska State Troopers in Bethel received a call from Akiachak Village Police who reported that a female residing in the village of Akiachak had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Sam Liskey age 29 of Akiachak on the morning of 10/21/2009. At the conclusion of the investigation Sam Liskey was arrested on the charges of Sexual Assault 1st degree, 3 counts of Domestic Violence Assault 3rd degree and Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the 4th degree. Troopers responded and investigated the scene. The State Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and determined Andrew Alexie age 53 of Lime Village, died of natural causes. Alexie's body was released to the family. The death was determined to be from natural causes. No foul play is suspected. An investigation showed that Jonathon Smith, 21 of Soldotna, lost control of the vehicle he was driving due to icy road conditions. The vehicle slid into the ditch and struck the embankment. Neither Smith or his passenger complained of injuries and both reported wearing their seat belts. No citations were issued and alcohol was not a factor. Author: JAW4 Received Monday, October 26, 2009 3:26 PM and posted Monday, October 26, 2009 3:20 PM ------------------------------------------------- Location: Mile 96 Parks Highway Case number: 09-96251 Type: Commercial Motor Vehicle Accident Text: On 10/25/09 at approximately 2127 hours Troopers from the Talkeetna post and the Alaska Bureau of Highway Patrol, South Central Team and an officer with the Alaska DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement, responded to the report of a semi-trailer abandoned in the middle of the Parks Highway. Investigation determined the 2000 Freightliner tractor had entered the Parks Highway from Montana Creek Road pulling a 40' flatbed trailer loaded with crushed cars. As the tractor-trailer turned south bound onto the Parks highway, the trailer disconnected from the tractor and fell onto the surface of the roadway. The tractor was found off the road and still running, approximately 20' from the trailer. The trailer's landing gear failed resulting in the front of the trailer to fall and dug into the pavement completely blocking the south bound lane of the Parks Hwy. The driver fled the scene, failing to sufficiently mark the unmarked trailer and notify authorities of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
