Saranen of Ketchikan at his residence in Ketchikan. Saranen had an outstanding $1,500.00 warrant for failure to appear for a hearing for his involvement in a vehicle theft in 2004. Saranen was arrested without incident and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was remanded on the warrant. Investigation revealed that 19 YOA Jerod W Sieler of Wasilla was in possession of marijuana. Sieler was issued citations for failure to provide proof of insurance and basic speed. Sieler was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth and fifth degree. Sieler was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held on $2500 bail. Millard, age 35 of Wasilla, during a traffic stop on Inter Vista Drive near Knik Goose Bay Road for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed Millard was operating a motor vehicle while impaired and under the influence of drugs and had a weapon in his vehicle. Millard also was operating the vehicle on a suspended license. Millard was arrested for DUI-Drugs, MIW 4th, and DWLS. Millard was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and remanded into their custody. Bail was set at $2,500.00. Investigation revealed that Christine R. Mizell, age 20 of Wasilla, was operating the motor vehicle without a driver's license. Mizell was issued a criminal citation to appear in court for Driving without a Valid Driver's License. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver. Investigation revealed that Trooper Gary Cox, 48 of Palmer, struck a black bear while traveling eastbound on the Parks Hwy in his 2008 Ford Crown Victoria patrol car. A 1999 Dodge Dakota traveling westbound on the Parks Hwy driven by Wayne Turner, 46 of Houston, ran over the black bear that was now lying in the roadway. Following behind the Dodge Dakota, a 2000 Subaru Forester traveling westbound on the Parks Hwy driven by Abigail S. Sheppard, 34 of Houston, ran over the black bear as it lay in the roadway. All occupants in the vehicles reported wearing their seatbelts and reported no injuries. The patrol vehicle sustained approximately $600 in damage. No damage was sustained to the other vehicles involved. Investigation revealed that between 10/17/2009 and 10/18/2009, person(s) unknown rammed the overhead equipment door with a 4-wheeler damaging the door and its security latches. Judy Ann Lee, 39, of Shungnak was declared deceased in her home. Alaska State Troopers responded to investigate and no indications of foul play were discovered. Lee's body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. Next of kin was present at the time of death. Jessica Wilcox, age 22 of Anchorage, had been detained for shop lifting several articles of women's clothing inside of a plastic trash can she had also taken from store stock. As Wilcox was being detained a three inch glass straw fell out of her pocket with a residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Wilcox was charged with Theft II and MICS IV and she was remanded to FCC without bail. Investigation revealed Britt Haney, age 37, of Fairbanks, was operating a 2007 Chevy Silverado while intoxicated. Subsequent investigation showed Brittain was impaired by alcohol while driving the vehicle. Brittain was arrested for felony DUI. Brittain's driving privileges were revoked out of Virginia and he was charged with driving with a revoked driver's license. Brittain was remanded to WWPT with no bail. AK Bureau of Alcohol & Drug Enforcement Location: Juneau Case number: 09-96992 Type: Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance II, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance III x 3, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV, Misconduct Involving a Weapon III and Violating Condition of Release. Text: On 10-29-09 at approximately 1800 hours, the Southeast Alaska Cities against Drugs task force (SEACAD) completed an on going investigation of sales of methamphetamine from 9249 Gee St. in Juneau. SEACAD, with the assistance of the JPD Metro Unit, conducted three controlled buys during the month of October from Alexander K. Bearden, age 24, of Juneau. Through investigation it was learned that Bearden was attempting to illegally obtain a handgun, which led to his arrest and conclusion of the investigation. Bearden, a convicted felon, was at the time on conditions of release awaiting trial for a felony DUI. SEACAD along with the JPD Metro Unit, Alaska Wildlife Troopers and the Alaska State Troopers executed a search warrant on Bearden's residence after he purchased a hand gun from a SEACAD informant. Prior to the deal, safety measures were taken to ensure the hand gun was rendered inoperable. Bearden was arrested and remanded to Lemon Creek Correctional Center on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance III and Misconduct Involving a Weapon III. Further charges against Bearden will be referred to the Juneau District Attorney's Office. The driver was identified as Shae Wells, age 22 of Houston. Investigation revealed that Well's possesses an Instructional Permit only and was driving the vehicle without a licensed driver as required. Wells was issued a misdemeanor citation for Driving in Violation of Instructional Permit and released at the scene. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
