B Detachment ------------------------------------------------- Location: Wasilla Case number: 09-99660 Type: MVC-D/Failure to Report MVC Text: On 11/05/09 at approximately 1549 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a hit and run at Church Road and Pittman Road Wasilla. Investigation revealed that 19 YOA Lindsay M. Deal of Wasilla parked her blue 1996 Ford Ranger on the side of the road after having transmission problems at 0430 hours, on 11/05/09. Deal returned to her vehicle at 1330 hours, on 11/05/09 discovering her vehicle had been struck and damaged. Damage to her vehicle is estimated at $3000 dollars. Investigation revealed a 2007 Ford Crown Vic patrol car driven by Trooper Ricky Sawyer, 25 of Big Lake, was traveling westbound on Seldon Road approaching Anoka Place behind a vehicle that was making a right hand turn onto Anoka Place. A 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Andria Vinzant, 17 of Wasilla, was stopped on Anoka Place and proceeded to make a left hand turn onto Seldon Road eastbound while the vehicle in front of the patrol car was turning onto Anoka Place. The Tahoe pulled into the westbound lane of Seldon Road and was struck by the patrol car at a speed of approximately 30 mph. Damage to the Tahoe was estimated at $6,000, while damage to the patrol car was estimated at $10,000. All occupants reported wearing safety belts, and Trooper Sawyer reported minor injuries. Vinzant was issued a citation for Failure to Yield after Stopping. Investigation revealed the operator, Leonard Hall age 41 of Wasilla, was driving his vehicle with license plates which did not belong to the vehicle. Irizarry, age 34 of Wasilla, during a traffic stop on the Parks Highway near Pittman Road for a moving violation. Investigation revealed Irizarry was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Investigation also revealed that this was Irizarry's third DUI with-in the past ten years. Irizarry was arrested, transported, and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. Bail was set at $5,000. The vehicle was released to a family member. Investigation revealed sometime after 10-31-09, somebody used a tool to pry the back window to the metal shop open. The suspect(s) are believed to have entered the school. HARDING was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.
