State Charges Filed in Missing Kotzebue Girl Investigation

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Based on the results of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance and death of a 10-year-old girl from Kotzebue, Peter Wilson, age 41, of Kotzebue, has been charged in state court. Mr. Wilson faces charges of with Murder in the First Degree, Kidnapping, Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree, and Tampering with Evidence.
“On behalf of the Alaska State Troopers, the FBI, Kotzebue Police Department, and Northwest Arctic Borough, I extend our sincerest condolences to the victim’s family, friends, and community,” Alaska State Troopers Colonel Hans Brinke said. “AST also extends our thanks to the Alaska Incident Management Team, the many volunteers who assisted in the search for this young girl, and the countless individuals and organizations that provided support and resources during the search and rescue operation.”
The investigation continues.
