    Type: Assault 4, Interfere with Report of a DV Crime

    Dispatch Text:

    On January 05, 2018 at approximately 0104 hrs, Alaska State Trooper (AST) dispatch received a 911 emergency call from a woman reporting a family member, 41 year old Robert Horwath of Ketchikan, had physically assaulted her.  AST responded to the residence near Dotson Lane.  Subsequent investigation revealed Horwath was intoxicated and had physically assaulted a family member.  It was also discovered he had caused damage to the telephone at the residence, preventing her from contacting law enforcement to report the incident.

    Horwath was taken into custody and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center, where he was held without bail pending his arraignment.

    Dispatch Text:

    On January 5, 2018 at about 4:30 PM, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island located 27 year old Curtis Looper in Naukati.  Looper had an outstanding warrant and was arrested. Looper was transported to Craig Police Department where he was remanded.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 01/05/2018 at approximately 1848 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Jeep Comanche for a moving violation at approximately mile 69.5 of the Parks Highway in Willow.  An investigation revealed the driver, James David Neal, age 63 of Talkeetna, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.  Neal was placed under arrest for DUI, transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer.

    On 01/04/2018 at approximately 1203 hours the Alaska State Troopers received a report criminal mischief in the area of S. Ridgecrest Rd. The victim reported that someone had pried open and damaged their locked mailbox. It is unknown if any mail was taken.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 1/5/18, at approximately 1333 hours, members of the Palmer Criminal Suppression Unit (CSU) were conducting surveillance on an unrelated investigation in the Anchorage area when they were made aware of an armed and dangerous suspect burglarizing the Hillside area.  The suspect had fled on foot from officers with the Anchorage Police Department (APD) and was reported to be armed with a rifle.  At the time, they were in an unmarked vehicle and in plain clothes.  They responded to the area to assist in locating the suspect.  Upon their arrival to the area they observed a subject matching the description given by APD of the suspect attempting to wave them down.  They quickly notified an APD officer parked nearby where they observed the suspect.  They then returned to the area where they now observed the suspect attempting to free a vehicle which had become stuck in the snow.  CSU, with the assistance of APD, quickly took the suspect, as well as another subject who was sitting in the stuck vehicle, into custody without further incident.  Both suspects were turned over to APD.

    Update: The passenger in the SUV that was killed in this crash has been positively identified as Donny Inman, 38 of Wasilla. Next of Kin has been notified.

    Update: At approximately 1756 hours, KGB opened to regular traffic flow.

    Original text: On January 4, 2018 at about 1346 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles with possible injuries on Knik Goose Bay Road at the intersection of Shady Lane. Investigation revealed a dark SUV was traveling outbound on Knik Goose Bay Road when it lost control on the icy roadway. The SUV crossed into the opposing lane of travel and was struck on its passenger side by an inbound ambulance. The front seat passenger of the SUV was deceased upon AST arrival. The driver of the SUV was medivaced to Providence in Anchorage. The driver of the ambulance was not injured. The front passenger of the ambulance was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment for treatment of reportedly non-life threatening injuries. The ambulance was en route to a hospital with a patient when the collision occurred. The patient reportedly did not sustained injuries as a result of this collision. Next of kin for the deceased has not yet been notified. The SME has been notified. Investigation continues.

    On 1/4/2018 at approximately 1840 hours, Alaska State Troopers were advised of a suspicious vehicle sale at Carrs in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Jason W. Odell, age 41 and Brittany D. Holderbee, age 29 both of Wasilla had warrants for their arrests. Odell had a warrant for failure to appear a status hearing on 8/14/2017 on the original charge of criminal nonsupport. Holderbee had a warrant for failure to appear an ASAP hearing on 5/31/2017 on the original charge of DUI. Odell and Holderbee were arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial with bail set at $500 c/c each.

    On 01/04/18 at approximately 2150 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted Kayla Whaley, age 28, of Wasilla at a residence on Joes Drive in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Whaley had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear, stemming from an original charge of DUI. Whaley was arrested without incident and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial where she was held on $100 bail.

    On 1/5/18 at approximately 0100 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2017 Dodge Truck for a moving violation on the Richardson Highway in North Pole. Investigation revealed the driver, Richard Wickenkamp age 42 of North Pole, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Wickenkamp was arrested for DUI and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center for remand where he was released on his own recognizance.

    On 1/3/18, at 1255 hours, Fairbanks rural Troopers and a Fairbanks base VPSO arrived in Tanana to investigate a report of an assault occurring on 1/1/18.  Investigation  determined April Jordan age 51 of Tanana was charged with one count of Assault in the Third Degree.  An arrest warrant and Stalking Protective order was issued by the Nenana Court in this matter.  Anyone with first hand information on this incident is encourage to call the Alaska State Troopers at 1-800-811-0911 and request to speak with the case officer in this matter.

    On 1/5/18 at approximately 0140 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a domestic violence incident in the Fairbanks area. Investigation revealed that Rebekah Wells, 33 years old of Fairbanks, cause physical injury to her husband during an argument. Wells was arrested and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where she was held without bail.

    On 1/4/18 at approximately 0000 hours, the Alaska State Troopers arrested Anthony Joseph, 32 years old of Valdez, on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of DUI. Anthony Joseph was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center and held on $500 bail.

    On January 5, 2018 at approximately 9:34 AM, the Alaska State Troopers contacted a vehicle in the ditch on the Old Richardson Hwy. Amanda Arnel, age 31 of North Pole, was subsequently arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on one count of Driving Under the Influence. Amanda was held on $500 bail.

    On 1/4/2018 the Alaska State Troopers arrested Damon T. Brooks, age 23 of Fairbanks, for Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree and Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree.  Brooks was remanded at Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    Type: Importation of Alcohol

    On 1-5-18 at approximately 1615 hours Alaska State Troopers contacted Jason A. Corgill (age 41 from Tok) as the driver of a red, 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, during a traffic stop for a moving violation near mile 1314 of the Alaska Highway.  The vehicle was also occupied by Eda Carol (age 36 from Tok).  Investigation revealed Corgill and Carol were in possession of alcohol which they were transporting to the village of Tanacross.  Tanacross is a dry community which has voted to ban the sale, importation, and possession of Alcohol.  Corgill and Carol were issued criminal citations to appear in court for importation of alcohol.  The alcohol was seized as evidence and Corgill along with Carol were released at the scene.

    Location: Healy
    Type: DUI, DWROL, MIW4, Refusal to submit to a breath test.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 01/04/18 at 1608 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Cantwell Post, arrested Terra Shamari Cone, 43 yoa of Healy, on the Stampede Road in Healy for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked driver's license, misconduct involving weapons in the 4th degree, and refusal to submit to a chemical test of her breath to determine alcoholic content. Troopers contacted Cone when they encountered her during a routine patrol on the Stampede road after she had gotten her vehicle stuck in the ditch. Cone was transported and booked at the Fairbanks Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
