    On 01/08/2019 at approximatley 1511 hours, Palmer Criminal Suppression Unit and Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Paddy Place in Wasilla for a report of a stolen vehicle that had just entered the driveway. Investigation revealed Dylan Jordan, age 22 of Wasilla, and Dallan Barney, age 21 of Wasilla, had both knowingly driven a stolen vehicle and parked it at this residence. The vehicle was reported stolen earlier in the day to Wasilla Police Department. Jordan and Barney were arrested for Theft II and Vehicle I and remanded to the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

    On 1/7/2019, approximately 1810 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle collision on Trunk Road near Duchess Drive, Palmer.  Investigation revealed 52 year old John T. Smithers of Palmer was operating his blue 2016 Chevrolet Colorado northbound on Trunk Road when two moose entered the roadway.  Smithers was unable to avoid one of the moose resulting in minor damage to the truck and no injuries reported.  Smithers reported wearing a safety belt and drove his vehicle from the scene.  The moose was gone upon AST arrival.

    On 01/08/19 Bethel AST contacted Jonathan Nokowallera, 28 yoa of Napakiak, without his third party custodian(s). Jonathan was arrested for violating his conditions of release in 4BE-18-891CR, where he was ordered to remain within 24 hour sight and sound of named third party custodians(s).  Martha Nokowallera, 67 yoa of Napakiak, was one of his two custodians he was to be with at the time of the contact with AST. Charges of violation of custodial duties were filed with the Bethel DAO on Martha Nokowallera. Jonathan was transported to YKCC in Bethel and held without bail pending his arraignment the following day. Alcohol was not a factor in this incident.

    On 1-8-2019, at approximately 1130 hours, Dillingham based Alaska State Troopers received a report of a structure fire in the village on Manokotak.  The fire happened on 1-7-19.  The structure is a complete loss.  The investigation is ongoing at this time.  If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Dillingham Alaska State Troopers at 907-842-5641.

    On January 7, 2019 Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Farmer's Loop Road to conduct a welfare check. At the residence Troopers contacted Jason Clark, age 36 of Fairbanks. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Clark for one count of Violating his Conditions of Release and one count of Unlawful Contact in the First Degree. Clark was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    Update: At approximately 1430 hours, McKinney was arrested without incident at a gas station on Cushman by AST, with the assistance of Fairbanks Police Department and Alaska Wildlife Troopers. He was remanded to FCC without incident.

    On January 8, at 2023 hours, The Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence near Badger Gas in North Pole for a reported assault in progress.

    Investigation revealed Daniel James McKinney, 35 YOA of Fairbanks entered a residence by force and reportedly assaulted an adult male with a firearm. While on the property McKinney also reportedly caused damage in excess of $2000.00 to the property and a vehicle at that location. McKinney also reportedly forced an adult female to leave the residence and enter a vehicle with threat of injury to the male victim if she did not leave with him. The female was later able to escape without injury. The male's injuries were not life threatening.  

    The Alaska State Troopers have requested an arrest warrant for Daniel James McKinney. Please contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-451-5100 with information concerning McKinney’s whereabouts. Do not attempt to contact McKinney as he is considered dangerous.

     *Due to this incident being DV related, the names of the victims have been removed.

    On January 9th at 1430 hours, Daniel McKinney was arrested at Fairbanks AST and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident

    Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

    Dispatch Text:

    On 1/7/19 at approximately 1900 hours, Soldotna AST and Ninilchik EMS responded to Mile 126 of the Sterling Highway for a report of a single vehicle rollover.  Subsequent investigation found Michael Pettit, age 21 of Clam Gulch, was northbound on the Sterling Highway when he lost control of his vehicle, which subsequently left the roadway, striking the embankment and overturning.  No injuries were reported.
