AK19069248Location: KetchikanType: Assault IV- DV, Criminal Mischief III, and Attempt Vehicle Theft I
On 10-7-19 at approximately 1955 hours, The Alaska State Troopers received a report of an assault at a residence on Higgins Spur. Investigation showed Derek Kollman, age 28 of Ketchikan Assaulted loved one. Then attempted to take their vehicle while doing so caused approximately $1000 dollars in damage to the vehicle. Kollman was not located on 10-7-19 but was located on 10-8-19 at his residence. Kollman was arrested and remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center.

AK19069895Location: Nikiski, AKType: Assault 3rd DV / Assault 4th DV
On 10/8/2019 at approximately 1922 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence off Halbouty Road, in Nikiski. Investigation revealed Michael Jay Darwin, age 34 of Nikiski, had assaulted a family member. He was arrested for Assault 3rd and Assault 4th, both Domestic Violence. He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility and held with no bail pending arraignment.

AK19069391Location: Clam GulchType: DWLR, Violate DVPO
On 10/7/19 at 0821 hours, Troopers stopped a vehicle near mile 120 of the Sterling Highway for speeding. The driver was identified as Nicholas Guarnere, 37 of Ninilchik. A records check showed Guarnere's driver’s license was in revoked status. Further investigation showed the Kenai Police Department had outstanding charges for violating a DVPO and requested Troopers arrest Guarnere on those charges. Guarnere was arrested on charges of DWLR and Violating a DVPO and remanded into Wildwood Pretrial pending arraignment.

AK19069222Location: Anchor PointType: Motor Vehicle Crash
On 10/06/2019 at 0827 hours, Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash near mile 155.5 of the Sterling Highway. An investigation showed John Newton, 49 of Homer, had been driving a vehicle north bound when he struck a guardrail. Newton received non-life threatening injuries and he was transported to the Homer Hospital for treatment. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash and the investigation is ongoing.

AK19069633Location: Big LakeType: Warrant Arrest
On 10/8/2019 at approximately 0019 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted multiple vehicles in the Big Lake gravel pit in Big Lake. Investigation revealed Gordon Kamholz, age 32, of Houston, had an outstanding warrant for failure to comply with conditions of release, original charge DUI. Gordon was arrested at the scene and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set at $2500 cash/corporate.

AK19069638Location: WasillaType: Warrant Arrest
On 10/08/2019 at 0345 hours, Alaska State Trooper dispatch received a report about a guy making noises and rummaging around the back of the property located near the Parks Hwy and Pittman Road. Troopers responded to investigate and contacted Kenneth Lucas, age 49 of Sutton, on the property. A records check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for assault. He was arrested and transported to Mat Su Pretrial where he was remanded on the $500 warrant.

AK19069766Location: Big LakeType: Burg 1st, Criminal Trespass 1st, Theft 3rd
On 10/08/2019 at approximately 1223 hours, AST responded to a report of a burglary after the fact at a cabin located on Horseshoe Lake Rd in Big Lake. Investigation revealed someone gained access through an unsecured door and stole a Flowtec water pump valued at $500.00. Investigation is continuing, anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to contact CrimeStoppers at 907-745-3333.

AK Wildlife Troopers
AK19069399Location: KakeType: Sub-Legal Bull Moose
On 10/7/19, John H. Plett, age 28 of Juneau was cited by Wildlife Troopers for taking a sub-legal bull moose in GMU-3 near Kake. Plett reported the violation to Wildlife Troopers. The meat was seized and donated to a local charity in Kake. Plett was given an arraignment date of November 5, 2019 at 1000 in the Petersburg District court.
