Alaska State Troopers Press Release of Tuesday, November 26, 2019

AK19082848Location: HydaburgType: Assault IV (DV), Harassment 1 (DV)
On 26 November 2019 at 1143 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers responded to Hydaburg for a reported disturbance. Investigation determined that 42 year old Mitchell Carle of Hydaburg, placed a family member in imminent fear of being assaulted, and spat in the family members face. Carle was arrested for the aforementioned charges and remanded to the Craig Jail pending arraignment.

AK19082465Location: WasillaType: Robbery 1, Kidnapping, Assault 2, Vehicle Theft, Coersion
UPDATE - The incident occurred on 11/22/19, at a residence in the Pittman Road area. The victim was confronted by Lish, accused of stealing money, and then forced inside the residence at gunpoint. Once inside Lish and 2-3 other unidentified people assaulted the victim, including by striking the victim with the gun, to the point of near unconsciousness. The victim was then forced at gunpoint by Lish back to their vehicle, made to drive to a nearby location where the victim was dropped and their vehicle stolen. AST recovered the vehicle several days later. Investigation is ongoing.
*UPDATE* AST Investigation resulted in identification of the primary suspect as Jake Russell Lish, 30 yoa of Wasilla. In early December, a Palmer Grand Jury returned felony indictments against Lish for Robbery 1, Kidnapping, Assault 2, Vehicle Theft, and Coersion. The Palmer court issued a $50,000 arrest warrant.
On 12/18/19, a Wasilla Police officer contacted and arrested Lish on the outstanding warrant during an unrelated matter.
On 12/19/19, Lish was arraigned in Palmer Superior Court on the above charges and bail was set at $250,000 plus electronic monitoring.
On 11/25/19 at approximately 1708 hours Troopers received a report of an armed robbery which had occurred several days prior. Investigation is on going and no further information will be released at this time.

AK19082423Location: Meadow Lakes - WasillaType: Contributing to Delinquency of a Minor
On 11/25/19, while investigating the whereabouts of a runaway juvenile, AST made contact with Lua Smith, 40 yoa of Houston along with a male juvenile. During the course of the contact it was discovered both were using a vehicle belonging to the first missing juvenile. This juvenile provided a false name to AST then fled the area on foot. The male was positively identified as S.V., a different habitual runaway. Smith facilitated the juvenile providing a false name to AST to aid him remaining at large from his guardian. Smith was charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, a Class A Misdemeanor. S.V. was contacted nearby by AST and taken into custody on a court ordered juvenile detainment hold. S.V. then provided AST information leading to the discovery of the original missing juvenile who was located safe.

AK19082884Location: WasillaType: Criminal Mischief IV DV
On 11/26/2019 at approximately 1518 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on N. Tanana Drive in Wasilla for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed Jeremiah Gould, age 44 of Wasilla, intentionally damaged $260 in family's property. Gould was arrested and remanded to the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held without bail.

AK19082987Location: WasillaType: Warrant Arrest
On 11/26/2019 at approximately 1948 hours, Alaska State Troopers performed a traffic stop on a silver 2007 Nissan Altima at Knik-Goose Bay Rd. and Park Ave. Investigation revealed Jeremy Ickes, age 47 of Talkeetna, had two outstanding warrants for Failure to Appear on the original charge of DUI and Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While License Revoked. Ickes was arrested at the scene and was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set at $700 cash.

AK19083012Location: PalmerType: Theft III & Criminal Trespass II
On 11/26/2019 at approximately 2321 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a purse theft from a vehicle at the MTA Sports Center in Palmer. Investigation revealed an unknown suspect(s) unlawfully entered the victim's vehicle and stole a purse containing approximately $500 in property. No damage to the vehicle was reported. Anyone with information related to this case is urged to call Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
