AK17079964Location: JuneauType: SAR
On 11/8/17, at 1846 hours, Juneau AST received a report that Ryan Johanson, age 25 of Juneau, was missing in the area of Nugget Falls adjacent to the Mendenhall Glacier. At 2030 hours, a search was initiated by members from SEADOGS and Juneau Mountain Rescue. At approximately 2214 hours, a member from JMR located Johanson's body in the water adjacent to the Nugget Falls. Johanson's body is being sent to the State Medical Examiner's office in Anchorage for an autopsy. No foul play is suspected and the next of kin has been notified. The Alaska State Troopers would like to thank the members of SEADOGS, JMR, and Capital City Fire and Rescue for their assistance.

AK17079901Location: PalmerType: Interference with official Proceedings / Violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order
On 11-8-17 at approximately 1131 hours, Alaska State Troopers and Court Service Officers responded to Palmer Court following a report of a person violating a domestic violence protective order. Investigation revealed that Joshual J. Longley, age 43 of Willow, AK attempted to influence the testimony of family member before a domestic violence hearing. Subsequent investigation revealed that Longley violated a domestic violence protective order when he contacted the family member. He was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was lodged. He is charged with interference with official proceedings and violating a domestic violence protective order.

AK17078918Location: WasillaType: DV assault and unlawful contact
On 11/04/17 at about 1445 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a 911 call for a “Rolling Domestic Violence” in the area of Bogard Road in Wasilla and made contact with 27 year old Wasilla resident Christopher Anderson. Anderson was subsequently arrested for Assault IV and Unlawful Contact II. Anderson was transported to and remanded in MSPT with no bail.

AK17080000Location: St. Mary'sType: Death Investigation
On 11/9/17 at approximately 0300 hours AST was notified of a disturbance at a residence in St. Mary’s. It was reported that Dawson Paukan, 20 of St. Mary’s, had received stab wounds during an altercation that were life threatening. Paukan was taken to the local clinic and succumbed to his injuries. Investigation is ongoing. Next of kin has been notified. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.

AK17067122Location: KianaType: Warrant Arrest x2
On November 9, 2017 at approximately 1430 hours, the Alaska State Troopers arrested two juveniles in Kiana pursuant to arrest warrants. The arrest warrants stemmed from a 4 week long investigation involving 5 separate burglaries including the school, the city office, the local liquor store, and a residence. One juvenile was arrested for 29 counts involving burglary, criminal mischief, theft involving firearms, theft involving alcohol, and tampering with physical evidence. The other juvenile was arrested for 13 counts involving burglary, criminal mischief, theft of alcohol, and theft at the school. Several firearms were recovered and returned to the owner.

On November 8, 2017 AST responded to a report of a family disturbance at a residence off of Rosie Creek. Investigation revealed that David Sweat, age 33, of Fairbanks assaulted a family member. He was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree and Interference with a report of Domestic Violence and remanded at the Fairbanks Correctional Center.

AK17079973Location: Tok, AlaskaType: NVOL
On 11/08/17 at approximately 2000 hours, Tok AST conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy truck for a broken tail light. AST contacted the 16 year old driver. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver did not have a valid drivers license. The driver was issued a misdemeanor citation for No Valid Operators License and a correctable citation for the tail light.

AK17080140Location: Delta JunctionType: Criminal Mischief V
On 11/9/17, at 1537 hrs, State Troopers arrested Ember Garza, 21 of Delta Junction, after she punched a hole in the wall of her grandmothers house during a verbal dispute. Garza was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center where she was remanded on one count of Criminal Mischief 5th Degree DV (Domestic Violence).

On November 9, 2017 at approximately 8:30pm, Alaska State Troopers responded to a Fairbanks residence for a report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed that Jerry Attla, age 26 of Fairbanks, had committed the crime of Fifth Degree Criminal Mischief (Domestic Violence). Attla was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on the charge.

AK17079991Location: NinilchikType: Assault 4th - DV / Warrant Arrest
On 11/9/2017 at approximately 0045 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Ninilchik. Investigation revealed Julie Ann Cox, age 44 of Ninilchik, had assaulted a family member. Michael John Landowski, age 51 of Ninilchik was contacted on scene and found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a prior criminal charge. Both were arrested. Cox was remanded at Homer Jail for Assault 4th DV and held with no bail pending arraignment. Landowski was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial and held with no bail pending arraignment.

AK Bureau of Highway Patrol
AK17080134Location: AnchorageType: MVC Injury
On 11/09/17 at 1506 hours, Alaska State Troopers, Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a single vehicle rollover near mile 106.5 of the Seward Highway. This section of the Seward Highway is within the Seward Highway Traffic Safety Corridor. The crash investigation determined Aaron Johnson (age 49 of Girdwood, AK) was operating his Ford van traveling northbound. Johnson was negotiating a curve in the roadway when his vehicle lost traction on the icy pavement. Johnson was unable to control the vehicle as it went off the northbound side of the highway and overturned. Johnson was wearing a seat belt and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Johnson was transported to an Anchorage area hospital by ground ambulance. Johnson’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
