    Location: Ketchikan
    Type: Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in the 2nd Degree

    Dispatch Text:

    On 12/02/2017 at about 2039 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted John Thomas, age 55, of Ketchikan at a residence in the 5000 Block of Ridgewood Lane. Investigation revealed that Thomas was out of compliance a registered sex offender and did not fill out his required paperwork.  Thomas was issued a Summons at the scene for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender 2nd Degree.

    Location: Wasilla
    Type: Assault III (DV)

    Dispatch Text:

    On 12/3/17, at approximately 0356 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Chesapeake Ave. in Wasilla for a domestic disturbance.  Investigation revealed Margaret Schaeffer, age 67, of Wasilla, assaulted a family member with a deadly weapon.  The family member was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital for injuries sustained during the assault.  Schaeffer was arrested for Assault III (DV) and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial with no bail. She will be arraigned later today.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 11/12/17, at approximately 1948 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to mile 62 Richardson Hwy to investigate the report of a single vehicle collision with injuries.  Investigation revealed 2009 Dodge pickup traveling southbound on the Richardson Hwy struck a moose causing minor injuries to the female passenger from fly debris in the vehicle.  The passenger was transported by private vehicle to Valdez for treatment.  Alcohol was not a factor and seatbelt use was reported. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

    Type: Burglary 2; Theft 2

    Dispatch Text:

    On 11-12-2017, at approximately 1203 hours, Glennallen AST responded to the report of a Burglary after the fact at a residence near mile 93 Richardson Hwy.  Investigation revealed one or more suspects entered a residence and stole several items in and around the property to include a three wheeler.  Investigation is ongoing.

    Type: Warrant Arrest

    Dispatch Text:

    On 12/01/17 at approximately 0103 hours, Glennallen AST contacted Robert Albert McConkey at a residence in the village of Gulkana during an investigation. Department records show that Robert has an active arrest warrant issued on 11/27/17 on the original charge of NVOL.  Robert was placed under arrest on the active warrant and transported to Glennallen post where he is being held with bail set at $250. Alcohol was not  a factor in the case.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 12/03/2017 at approximately 2050 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an address on Timberland Loop in Wasilla for a report of a disturbance. Troopers contacted and arrested Sergey Tipikin, age 50 of Anchorage, on an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Comply with ASAP on the original charge of DUI. Tipikin was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $50 after serving three days.

    Type: Death Investigation

    Dispatch Text:

    On December 3, 2017 at approximately 12:52 PM, the Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a male having been found deceased in his residence. Investigation revealed Earl Beard, age 39 of Fairbanks, had last been known to be alive the previous night. There were no signs of foul play. The State Medical Examiner's office requested the body be sent in to Anchorage for an exam. Next of kin notification has been made.

    Location: Seward
    Type: Warrant Arrest

    Dispatch Text:

    On December 2, 2017 at approximately 1756 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to "The Farm B&B" regarding a welfare check.  While on scene, AST located a male identified as Kenneth Schoonover, 39 YOA of Seward, hiding in a bathroom inside the residence.  A records check revealed Kenneth had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.  Kenneth was arrested and transported to the Seward Jail where he was held on $1500 bail.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 11/30/17, Zachary Ritter age 26 of Kodiak was issued a citation for failing to have a biodegradable escape mechanism on his subsistence Dungeness crab pot. Bail was set at $110

AK Bureau of Highway Patrol

    Location: Turnagain Pass

    Dispatch Text:

    On 12/03/17 at 1304 hours, Alaska State Troopers, Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a single vehicle striking a guardrail near mile 54.2 of the Seward Highway. The crash investigation determined Christine Rose (age 65 of Soldotna) was operating her Dodge pickup traveling northbound. Rose had one adult male passenger. Rose’s vehicle lost traction on the slush covered pavement. Rose was unable to maintain control of the vehicle as it crossed the center line and struck the southbound side guardrail. Rose and her adult male passenger were both wearing seatbelts. Rose was uninjured. Rose’s passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital on the Kenai peninsula by ground ambulance. Rose’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
