    On 12/3/2018 at approximately 1830 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a theft in the area of Countrywood Dr. in Wasilla. Investigation revealed $1000 in items were stolen from the area. The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contract the Alaska State Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

    Type: Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, Misconduct Weapons

    On December 3, 2018, at 1712 hours, AST received a report of a burglary that had occurred at a residence off Oakwood Drive in Palmer. State Troopers responded to the scene and investigation revealed 4 individuals had broken a glass door and entered the unoccupied home. Items stolen included numerous firearms, cash, smaller household items and a bottle of alcohol. Through investigative efforts, AST was able to identify a suspect and a likely location where he was located. At just after midnight on 12/4/18, AST with assistance from Wasilla Police made contact with the primary suspect at a residence in Wasilla. The suspect was identified as Nathaniel J. Hale, 18 yoa of Wasilla. Also contacted at the residence were accomplices Austin M. Terry, 18 yoa of Wasilla, and a 17 year old juvenile male. All three males eventually admitted their involvement in burglarizing the residence with another 17 year old male and to stealing the items. Troopers located all but two of the stolen firearms along with the alcohol stolen from the home and returned the items to the victims. Nathaniel Hale was also found to be in possession of an unrelated handgun that had the serial numbers destroyed. Nathaniel Hale was arrested on felony charges of Burglary 1, Theft 2, Misconduct Weapons 3 and Criminal Mischief 3 and was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial on no bail pending arraignment. Austin Terry was arrested for Burglary 1, Theft 2 and Criminal Mischief 3 and remanded on no bail. The 17 year old found with Hale and Terry was arrested for Burglary 1, Theft 2 and Criminal Mischief 3 and remanded to the custody of DJJ pending a hearing. The fourth male was contacted elsewhere at 0530 hours and charges of Burglary 1, Theft 2 and Criminal Mischief 3 will be forwarded to DJJ.

    Type: Welfare check and Warrant arrest

    On 12/3/18 at 1645 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a resident on Lea Street in Palmer to conduct a welfare check on 48 year old Palmer resident David Mayer. Investigation revealed Mayer had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for the original charge of DUI. Mayer was arrested, transported and remanded to MSPT with his bail set at New Court Approved Third Party. Mayer contacted the family member who requested the welfare check.

    On 12/4/18 at approximately 0945 hours, Alaska State Troopers from Emmonak traveled to the Village of Alakanuk and arrested James Alan Cook 44 Y.O.A. for the charge of sexual assault in the first degree from an arrest warrant issued on 12//3/18.  Cook was transported to Emmonak where he will be arraigned tomorrow.  Bail is set $100,000.00

    On 12-3-18 at approximately 1156 hours Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence on East A Street in Tok.  Investigation revealed that prior to the disturbance, Justin J. Clarine (Age 35 from Tok) had been driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala while under the influence and impaired by alcohol.  Clarine was arrested for DUI and transported to the Tok holding facility where he was held until sober.

  • Department of Public Safety Advisory

    Location: Fairbanks - College Road

    Advisory Text:

    The Alaska State Troopers are requesting assistance regarding a suspicious death that occurred on the night before Thanksgiving, November 21st 2018; between the hours of 6 pm and 7 pm on College Road near Aurora Drive. The attached video shows a white Volvo SUV pulling a rolled up piece of carpeting onto College Road near Aurora subdivision. The vehicle was later found crashed along Ballaine Road during the evening of November 21st. If anyone has information regarding these events or saw anyone leaving the scene of the accident on Ballaine Road, please contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-451-5100.

    On 12/4/18 at 1110 hours Alaska State Troopers arrested Arnold Pitka, age 31 of Nulato outside his residence in Nulato without incident on a $500 misdemeanor arrest warrant for failure to appear for calendar call for VCOR X 3 and remanded him to FCC on $500 bail.
