    Location: Cooper Landing
    Type: MVC-Fatality

    Dispatch Text:

    On 12-4-2019 at 0745 hours the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a single vehicle rollover near mile 53 Sterling Highway, near Cooper Landing.  Investigation revealed Robert Scott (54 YOA of Soldotna) was driving his Dodge SUV northbound when he left the roadway causing the vehicle to roll onto it's top in a body of standing water.  Scott's body was located in the vehicle and he was declared deceased on scene by the CES Dive Team.  Scott was the only occupant in the vehicle.  Next of kin has been notified and the body is being sent to the Medical Examiner's Office for examination.  The vehicle was impounded on scene.  Investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 12/04/2019 at 0147 hours, AST responded to a vehicle in the ditch at mile 105 on the Sterling Highway. Upon arrival AST contacted the driver of the vehicle Dwight Davis age 70 of Kenai. Investigation found Dwight to be driving while under the influence. Dwight was arrested, transported, and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial for DUI.

    Type: Burglary II, Theft II, Vehicle Theft I, Criminal Mischief III

    On 12/04/2019 at approximately 1115 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of burglary and theft from a residential garage/shop on N. Moose Road in Wasilla.  The owner reports that while he was away on business unknown suspect(s) stole a red 1996 Toyota T100 pickup (Alaska plate JGS409) and shop equipment to include a 5000 watt generator, blowtorch setup, table saw, planer, scroll saw and digital plotter (for making signs).  Further, the suspect(s) destroyed a gun safe by forcing it open, but no firearms were stored in it at the time.  Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

    On 12/04/2019 at approximately 1555 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of theft from a residence on N. Anthony Road in Houston.  Between midnight and 0700 ours on 12/04, unknown suspect(s) stole an old brown two-wheeled car dolly.  The dolly does not have a license plate and does not have working lights.  Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

    On 12/03/2019 at approximately 1042 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of theft from an unlocked vehicle parked overnight at the Trunk Road Park and Ride in Palmer.  Unknown suspect(s) took a variety of personal items as well as a military A-bag containing an issued training chemical suit and gas mask.  The theft occurred overnight between 11/30 and 12/01.  Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

    Type: Assault 1 (DV), Assault 2 (DV), Assault 3 (DV), Assault 4 (DV) and Resisting Arrest

    On 12/02/2019, at approximately 2131 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a call about a domestic violence assault in the village of Manokotak.  Troopers were also informed that the Tribal Police Officers in the village had arrested the suspect.  The morning of 12/03/2019, Troopers flew to the village to complete the investigation.  The investigation revealed that Davey Bartman, age 34 of Manokotak, had assaulted a family member at the residence. Bartman was arrested and transported to the Dillingham Jail where he was remanded on charges of Assault 1 (DV), Assault 2 (DV), Assault 3 (DV), Assault 4 (DV), and Resisting Arrest.

    Type: Sexual Assault 1, Sexual Assault 2

    Dispatch Text:

    On 10/18/2019, Alaska State Troopers (AST) in Bethel received a report of sexual assault in the village of Akiachak. Further investigation revealed forty-four year-old Dale Moses of Akiachak sexually assaulted another person in his residence. AST obtained a warrant for Dale's arrest on charges of Sexual Assault in the First Degree and Sexual Assault in the Second Degree. On 12/4/2019, AST located Dale and arrested him pursuant to the warrant. Dale was remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center (YKCC) with bail initially set at $25,000.00.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Location: Sitka
    Type: Improper Markings/No Escape Rings Personal Use Dungeness Crab Gear

    Dispatch Text:

    On 12/3/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Sitka Post, cited Sean A. Barclay age 35 of Sitka for operating unlawful personal use Dungeness crab gear. Inspections of crab gear in Nakwasina Sound had previously revealed Barclay was operating a crab pot which did not have 4 3/8" escape rings as required and was not marked with the fisherman's name, address, and vessel number. Bail is set at a total of $240 in the District Court at Sitka.

    On 12/3/19, at 1630 hours, while trying to identify subjects a suspicious call in the area of Dimond Ave., a passenger in a vehicle gave a false ID and then fled on foot.  After a brief foot pursuit, the subject was arrested and identified as Justin Jacobsen, 31 YOA, of Wasilla, AK, was found to have 3 outstanding warrants totaling $950.  Jacobsen was transported to Mat Su Pretrial on the warrants.

    On 11-28-2019, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Bogard Road in Palmer. Investigation revealed that the driver, Thomas Porcaro, age 26 of Palmer, was impaired due to consuming alcohol at a Thanksgiving party. He was placed under arrest and subsequently remanded to Matsu Pretrial on one count of DUI.

    On 12/4/19 Sarah ST. JOHN, 39 YO of Kodiak, was issued a citation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Kodiak Post, for making a false statement on her 2017 sport fishing license. Bail is set at $320.00 in the Kodiak Courts.
