AK17085979Location: Big LakeType: Burglary 1st Degree/ Theft 3rd Degree
On 12/05/2017 at approximately 1539 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to residence on Simon Court in Big Lake for the report of a Burglary and Theft. Investigation revealed someone entered the residence through a window and stole multiple tools with values estimated around $500 within the previous two hours. Troopers followed fresh tracks in the snow leading to a nearby residence. Further investigation ultimately led to a residence approximately two miles from the crime scene. Troopers interviewed a Zane Finger, age 19 of Big Lake, who admitted to stealing the items on Simon Court. The items were recovered and given back to the owner. Charges were filed with the Palmer Court against Finger for Burglary 1st Degree and Theft 3rd Degree.

AK17086322Location: WasillaType: Warrant Arrest x2
On 12-6-17 at about 2200 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy SUV for moving violations on Pittman near the Parks Highway. Investigation revealed the driver, identified as 25 year old Wasilla resident Kendra Mitchell, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for Promoting Contraband 1st, 2nd and MICS 4th. Further investigation revealed a passenger, identified as 24 year old Wasilla resident Ashley Glenn-Sowle, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for Probation Violation. Both were arrested and remanded to MSPT, Mitchell was held on $5000 bail and Glenn-Sowle was held on $10,000 bail.

AK17085990Location: WasillaType: Death Investigation
On 12/05/2017 at approximately 1428 hours, it was reported through a 911 call that Dexter Ivie (66) was found deceased at his home on Genie Circle. Investigation revealed Ivie had died of natural causes. The State Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted and released Ivie to his family on scene. No foul is suspected.

AK17085194Location: WasillaType: Harassment 1st Degree
On 12/05/2017 at approximately 1039 hours, AST took a report of harassment from Goose Creek Correctional Facility in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that an inmate Benjamin Tambloo, age 24 of Wasilla, inappropriately touched another inmate on the buttocks over the course of approximately 5 months. Charges forwarded to the DAO.

AK17085986Location: WasillaType: Leaving the scene of an accident
On 12/05/2017 at approximately 1443 hours, AST responded to Knik Goose Bay Rd and Commodore Ln for a hit and run. Lynn Wanzak, age 71, of Palmer was traveling southbound on Knik Goose Bay Rd in white 2017 GMC Terrain, when two moose crossed in front of his vehicle. Wanzak slowed his vehicle to a near stop when he was rear ended. Both vehicles pulled over to the shoulder of the road. The second vehicle was described as a dark maroon colored sedan. As Wanzak made contact, the driver of the suspect vehicle drove off heading southbound on Kink Goose Bay Rd. Damage to the GMC Terrain was estimated at approximately $2500.00. Investigation is continuing.

AK17085879Location: WasillaType: Theft of Mail
UPDATE: Amber Robinson, 29 of Palmer, taken into custody and charged with Theft in the 4th degree and Criminal Mischief in relation to this incident. Investigation continues between AST and the US Postal Inspector's office.
On 12/05/2017, at approximately 0930 hours, Alaska State Troopers received multiple mail theft reports in the area of Wolverine Road, in Palmer. Investigation revealed dozens of mailboxes had been tampered with and mail had been stolen. The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 745-2131.

AK17085206Location: GlennallenType: Minor Operating a Vehicle After Consuming Alcohol, Minor Consuming Alcohol
On 12/02/17 at approximately 0137 hours, Glennallen AST conducted a traffic stop on a green Honda Accord near mile 183.5 Glenn Highway for erratic driving and an equipment violation. AST investigation revealed the driver Roy Eskilida, 20 yoa, was driving the vehicle after he had consumed alcoholic beverages. Further investigation revealed the front passenger identified as Gary Pitka, 19 yoa, was under the influence of alcohol beverages. Roy was issued two criminal citations for MOCA and MCA and given a future court date. Gary was issued one criminal citation for MCA. They were all released on scene. Alcohol is a factor in the case.

On 12/5/2017 at approximately 1221 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of alcohol being furnished to minors at Colony High School. Investigation revealed a minor female age 16 of Wasilla brought alcohol to school in a Snapple bottle and furnished it to two other minors ages 14 and 17. The female minor was issued a citation for Minor Consuming /Possessing Alcohol and issued a Summons for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor with a requirement to appear in court at a later date. The female minor was released to her grandmother.

AK17086066Location: NapakiakType: Assault 3rd Misconduct Involving a Weapon 4th
On 12/6/2017, Alaska State Trooper's responded to Napakiak for a report of a male who had pointed a weapon at a female and threatened to shoot her. Following an investigation, Wilson White, age 27 of Napakiak, was arrested for assault 3rd degree and misconduct involving a weapon 4th degree. White was held at YKCC without bail pending arraignment.

On 12/06/17 Tok AST was granted an arrest warrant for 20 year old Tok resident, Joseph Alan Young, pursuant to an investigation where he was alleged to have broken someone's jaw in two places. AST located Young and placed him under arrest for the warrant. Young was later transported to FCC and held on $10,000 bail.

On 12/1/17 at 1401 hours Alaska State Troopers in Galena received a report of an assault in Nulato. On 12/2/17 at 1148 hours Bennett Madros II, age 24 of Nulato was arrested in Nulato on two counts of Assault 3 and one count of Criminal Trespass 1 and remanded to FCC on no bail.

On 12/2/17 at 0515 hours Alaska State Troopers Dispatch in Fairbanks received a report of an assault in Koyukuk. At 1607 hours Alfred Dayton, age 36 of Koyukuk was arrested in Koyukuk on two counts of Assault 3, two counts of Assault 4, DUI, Refusal, and Reckless Endangerment and remanded at FCC on no bail.

AK17084717Location: FairbanksType: Hindering Prosecution/ Witness Tampering
On November 30th, 2017 at approximately 1007 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a violation of conditions incident involving Kayla Forsland, 27 of North Pole. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Frederick Stowell, 59 of North Pole along with his daughter, Yolonda Bellmay, 41 of North Pole for Hindering Prosecution and Witness Tampering. Both Frederick and Yolonda were remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident. AST is still searching for Kayla. Anyone with information regarding Kayla's location should contact Fairbanks AST at 451-5100.

On 12-5-17, at approximately 1731 hours, The Alaska State Troopers Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle collision near mile 72 of the Seward Highway. The investigation revealed Zane Fallon III, age 41 of Nikiski, was driving a 2008 F-350 towing a trailer when he lost control on the ice and struck the guard rail. The truck and trailer suffered approximately 10,000.00 in damages. No injuries were reported. All occupants reported wearing seat belts. No citations were issued.
