    On February 12, 2018, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island contacted 36 year Hydaburg resident Alva Peratrovich in reference to conditions of release in a current court case.  Peratrovich was arrested for Tampering with Physical Evidence and Violating his Conditions of Release.  Peratrovich was transported to Craig Police Department where he was remanded and held without bail.

    Type: Motor Vehicle Collision, Damage

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/12/2018, at about 0955 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Glennallen responded to a two vehicle collision near mile 172 of the Richardson Highway.  The investigation showed that 49 year-old, Daniel Predmore of Anchorage was driving his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado north on the Richardson Highway when he lost control and collided with a 2013 Chevrolet pickup being driven by 23 year-old, Anchorage resident, Jared Smith who was traveling south on the Richardson Highway.  Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.  All parties were reported to be wearing their seatbelts and minor injuries were reported.  Daniel Predmore was issued a citation for Due Care to Avoid and Accident.

    On 02/12/2018, at about 1854 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Glennallen responded to Chitina after receiving a report of an individual who was stabbed in the arm. 

    33 year-old, Anchorage resident, Craig Maines was subsequently arrested for Assault in the Second Degree after he admitted to being involved in an altercation in Chitina with another male.  During the altercation Maines pulled a pocket knife out of his jacket and stabbed the male in his left elbow.  The male was transported to Crossroads Medical Center by a private vehicle where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury to his arm and released. 

    Maines was transported to the Glennallen Holding Cell where he is awaiting arraignments.

    On 02/13/2018, at approximately 0609 hours, AST received a call of an Assault on N Birch Harbor Road, in Houston. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Oshia Johnson, age 26, of Houston.  Johnson had physically assaulted another resident. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where she was remanded without bail.

    Type: Hit & Run - Damage Only

    Dispatch Text:

    On 02/12/2018 at approximately 1832 hours, AST responded to Parks Hwy and Pittman Road for a report of a hit & run. Investigation revealed a black semi truck pulling a single tanker trailer was northbound on the Parks Hwy when it collided with a 2017 Chevy Equinox that was also north on the Parks Hwy. The semi truck failed to stop after the collision and continued north on the highway. No one in the Equinox was injured and the occupant reports wearing a seatbelt. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to call Troopers at 373-8300.

    Type: Assault II, Assault III, MIW II, and Assault IV

    On 2/12/2018, approximately 2320 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Williwaw Way and Bogard Road, Wasilla.  Investigation revealed a 29 year old Wasilla resident had suffered a single gunshot wound to the leg at the hands of 39 year old James P Johnson of Wasilla while at a nearby residence.  The male was transported to and treated at MSRMC in Palmer and later released.  On 2/13/2018, approximately 0600 hours, Johnson was arrested without incident at his Wasilla residence and remanded to MSPT where he was held without bail.

    On 02/12/2018, Alaska State Trooper dispatch received a report of a vehicle theft from W CORMORANT Way and W PHALAROPE Drive in Wasilla.   The complainant stated someone had taken his 1994 Blue Ford Ranger from the road side where it was stuck in the ditch.  The vehicle is believed to still be located in the Matsu Valley area.  Evidence at the scene is being analyzed and possible suspects are being identified.  The investigation is ongoing and the public is encouraged to contact Alaska State Troopers dispatch at 352-5401

    On 2/6/2018 at approximately 1451 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that a warehouse located near E Seldon Rd Wasilla had been broken into and items stolen..  Investigation revealed sometime within the last few days someone entered the building using force and stole approximately $400.00 of valuable and personal paperwork.  There was approximately $200.00 damage done to the building.  Wasilla Police recovered the stolen items later that day.  Anyone with information regarding this is requested to contact Palmer AST at 907-745-2131.

    On 2/12/2018 at approximately 0939 hours, The Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglary at a business in Willow near the Parks Hwy.  Investigation revealed sometime last night someone entered the building by breaking a window.  Stolen from the building was $200.00 and misc. paperwork.  Anyone with information regarding this is requested to contact Palmer AST at 907-745-2131.

    Type: Domestic Violence Assault III, Assault IV, VCOR

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2-12-18 at approximately 2008 hours Alaska State Troopers received the report of a disturbance at a residence on W. C Street in Tok.  Investigation revealed that Adam Nauglebaugh (age 29 from Tok) had assaulted a family member by threatening the family member with a knife.  Further investigation revealed that Nauglebaugh is on conditions of release steaming from a prior felony assault charge and was violating his conditions by refusing to leave the residence and by committing further acts of domestic violence.  Nauglebaugh was arrested for DV Assault III, DV Assault IV, and Violating Conditions of Release.  Nauglebaugh was transported to the Tok Trooper Post where he was held pending arraignment.

    On 2-13-17 at approximately 1455 hours Alaska State Troopers observed Brian D. Johnson (age 43 from Tok) at a business near mile 1314 of the Alaska Highway.  Subsequent investigation revealed that Johnson had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on the original charge of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 4th.  At approximately 1501 hours Troopers arrested Johnson for the warrant.  Johnson was transported to the Tok Trooper Post and held on $250.00 bail.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Type: Harassment of Wildlife/Reckless Driving

    On 5-22-18, Sebastian Davis, age 17, of Petersburg plead guilty to Harassing Game and Taking Game with a Motorized Vehicle. The guilty plea is the result of an Alaska Wildlife Trooper investigation that showed Davis intentionally struck two deer with his vehicle near Petersburg on February 5th 2018. This case was prosecuted by the Department of Law Office of Special Prosecutions.  Davis was sentenced to pay fines totaling $3000, 160 hours of community work service, loss of hunting and trapping privileges for 1 year, 30 days of suspended jail time, and probation for one year. Alaska Wildlife Troopers would like to thank the concerned members of the community for reporting this wildlife crime in a timely manner.

    Original Press Release:

    On 2/7/2018 the Alaska Wildlife Trooper in Petersburg was contacted by concerned citizens regarding a video posted on social media. Investigation revealed that Sebastian Davis, 17 of Petersburg, was driving on Wrangell Avenue on 2/5/2018 when he intentionally attempted to strike three Sitka Black Tail deer that were in the roadway. The passenger in the vehicle, Jasimine Ohmer, 17 of Petersburg, took video of the incident. Based on the video and a statement heard on the video, AWT believes two of the three deer were struck by the vehicle. While blood was found near the scene, no deceased animals were located. A misdemeanor charge of Harassment of Game has been filed against Davis and Ohmer. A misdemeanor charge of Reckless Driving was additionally filed against Davis. The Sitka District Attorney’s Office is handling the case. The arraignment for Davis and Ohmer is scheduled for Feb. 26 at 1515 hours at the Petersburg Superior Court.
