    02/05/19 at 1900 hours,the Togiak Trooper and Togiak Village Police Officer acted on a tip reporting the whereabouts of Jaron Wassillie (23) of Togiak.  Wassillie has 4 outstanding warrants for Failure To Appear for Arraignment, Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference, new charges of Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft 2nd Degreed, Assault 4th Degree on a police officer, Resist/Interfere with Arrest and Escape 4th degree. No bail.  Wassillie was taken into custody without incident and is awaiting arraignment.

    On February 5, 2019 at approximately 0244 hours, Jeremy Bishop, age 48 of Fairbanks, contacted the Alaska State Troopers to request a welfare check on a person. Jeremy was on conditions of release not to contact that person. Investigation revealed he contacted that person prior to contacting AST. Jeremy was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

    On 02/05/2019 at approximately 0100 hours Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report of a suspicious circumstance near Lyle Road in North Pole.  Troopers contacted Kyianna Rhodes, age 27 of North Pole.  Investigation determined Rhodes had an outstanding $500 misdemeanor arrest warrant for Failure to Appear for the initial charge of Reckless Endangerment.  Rhodes was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center for

    Dispatch Text:

     On 2-2-19 at 15:23 hours, the Soldotna AST K-9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a tan 1992 Chrysler Imperial sedan after observing a moving violation. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Aaron Lee Moore (50) YOA of Kenai and Misty Ray Alexan (39) YOA of Kenai. An APSIN check revealed Moore has an outstanding $50.00 warrant for his arrest for the original charge of theft in the 4th degree. Alexan had two outstanding warrants for her arrest totaling the amount of $75.00 for theft in the 3rd and 4th degree. Both subjects were arrested and transported to Wildwood Pretrial where they were remanded pending bail.

    On 2-4-19 at 1731 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance at a Nikiski residence.  Investigation revealed that Edward Heim (62 YOA of Nikiski) had gotten into an argument with two people a separate residence earlier in the day.  Heim then came to their house and threatened to kill them numerous times while possessing a firearm.  Heim was arrested for Assault 3 (4 counts) and Criminal Trespass I.  Heim was remanded to the Wildwood Pre Trial Facility where he was held without bail.

    On 2-5-19 at approximately 0045 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance in Kenai. Investigation revealed Jeremy Seal, age 38 of Soldotna, had assaulted his wife. Seal was arrested on charges of DV Assault 2, 2 counts of DV Assault 4, and Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances 4. Seal was transported to Wildwood Pretrial where he was remanded without bail.

    Type: Burglary x2 / Theft / Criminal Mischief

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/5/2019 at 0300 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an alarm at Moose River Dental in Sterling.  It was discovered that the front door had been smashed and entry made to the business.  Property was damaged, but no items stolen.  The suspect fled.  Troopers patrolling located a suspect in the area and after pursuing on foot for over an hour in the woods, identified the man as Mike Danny Sandback, age 36 of Soldotna.  Investigation revealed it was Sandback who had burglarized the Dental clinic.  At 0553 hours, another burglary was reported at True Blue coffee stand.  A box containing over $100 cash was stolen.  AST investigation revealed Sandback was responsible for that burglary as well.  He was arrested for two counts Burglary 2nd, as well as one count each of Criminal Mischief 3rd and 4th, Theft 3rd, and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance 4th.  He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial and held with no bail pending arraignment.

    On February 4, 2018 at approximately 1330 hours, Spring Creek Correctional Center staff contacted the Alaska State Troopers and reported that an inmate assaulted a Correctional Officer.  Investigation revealed the inmate punched the Correctional Officer in the face, causing his tooth to chip.  Charges have been forwarded on the inmate to the District Attorney's Office for review.

    Type: Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/3/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, contacted Randi L. Castillo age 25 of Sitka while conducting a welfare check on a person sleeping in a vehicle.  Troopers observed controlled substances in plain view in the vehicle.  Investigation revealed Castillo was in possession of methamphetamine.  Castillo was arrested and transported to the Sitka Jail where she was released on her own recognizance.  Her vehicle was impounded pending further investigation.

    UPDATE: On 1/22/19, Michael Kurtz, age 71, of Washington entered guilty plea as part of a plea deal with the Juneau District Attorney’s office to plead to a reduced charge of unlawful possession of herring.  Kurtz was fined $3000.

    ORIGINAL RELEASE: On 3/22/15, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, observed the F/V Nicholas Michael as the vessel finished harvesting a seine set for commercial herring during the Commercial Herring Sac Roe Fishery.  At the end of the set, several hundred pounds of dead herring were not harvested and dumped back into the water.  The permit holder and operator of the F/V Nicholas Michael, Michael A. Kurtz, age 67, of Bellingham WA, was issued a summons for Waste of Commercial Herring on 3/23/15.  An arraignment is set in Sitka District Court.

    On 2/5/19, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau, issued $310 citations to both Alan Rehder, age 43, and Jennie Rehder, age 41, of Juneau, for obtaining 2015 resident sport fish and hunt licenses when they did not qualify as Alaska residents.  The fines are issued out of the Juneau District Court.

    On February 4, 2019 at approximately 1700 hours, Alaska State Wildlife Troopers contacted Jesse Hooper, age 51 of McGrath, at his residence in McGrath.  A records check revealed Hooper had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for the original charge of Fail to Appear for a change of plea hearing.   Hooper was arrested and transported to the McGrath holding cell where he was remanded and held on $150 bail till arraignments .

    On 2/1/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, cited Andrew C. Hoiland, age 40, of Leavenworth WA for false statement on a 2018 resident sport fishing license.  Investigation revealed Hoiland had falsified his length of residency when obtaining the resident license.  Bail is set at $310 in the District Court at Sitka.
