    On 2/6/2018 at approximately 0949 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a stolen vehicle.  Investigation revealed sometime within the last week a white 2006 X-Terra Nissan bearing AK plate EUD628 was stolen from the area of 1323 N Williwaw Way Wasilla.  The car has paw print stickers on its windows.  Anyone with information regarding this is requested to contact Palmer AST at 907-745-2131.

    Type: Leaving the Scene of an Accident

    On 2/7/2018 at approximately 0807 hours, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on E. Blue Lupine Dr. in Palmer.  AST and medics responded to the location.  The victim was transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital for injuries sustained during the collision.  The vehicle involved in the collision fled from the scene. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Troopers at 352-5401.

    Type: Burglary II, Theft II, and Criminal Mischief IV

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/6/2018, approximately 1950 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence located on N Leatherleaf Circle, Wasilla, for a reported theft after the fact.  Investigation revealed that on 2/6/2018, approximately 1920 hours, an unidentified male forced entry into a locked storage shed on the property and stole gasoline, gas cans, and propane in 5-gallon cylinders, totaling approximately $800.  Anyone with any information regarding this investigation is asked to contact either the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 373-8300 or Crime Stoppers at (907) 745-3333.

    On 02/06/2018 at approximately 2205 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an unresponsive female at a residence on Clayton Street.  Investigation revealed Susan Pope, 68 YOA, had died of natural causes.  The state Medical Examiner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. No signs of foul play are suspected.  Next of kin have been notified and the body has been released to the family.

    On 2/6/2018 at approximately 1851 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on a white KIA Spectra for an equipment violation on Crusey and Bogard in Wasilla. An investigation revealed passenger Coel Mar Doughty, 18 YOA of Wasilla, was in possession of marijuana. Doughty was issued a criminal citation for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree. Doughty was released from the scene.

    Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/1/18 at 1208 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision located at Mill Bay Beach off of Rezanof Road. Investigation showed that Joseph Seale 47 yoa of Kodiak, driving a silver Honda 4dr car traveling southbound on Rezanof Road, was rear ended by a black Jeep Wrangler, driven by Skyler Drummond, 16 yoa of Kodiak. The collision happened near the Mill Bay Beach pullout off Rezanof Road. Both vehicles sustained minor to moderate damage and were later driven from the scene. No injuries were reported and both drivers reported to be wearing their seatbelts.  S. Drummond was issued a citation for Driver's to Exercise Due Care to Avoid a Collision.

    On 2/7/18 Emmonak AST received a report of burglary that happened on 2/1/18 at the Kotlik School. The school reports damage was done to the gym door and money and other items were taken. An investigation is ongoing at this time.

    Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/6/18 at 0830 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak received a report from Rebecca Campos, 36 yoa of Kodiak who reported a vehicle struck a stop sign near 2581 Spruce Cape Road and drove into her yard. Investigation showed that Andrew North, 36 yoa of Kodiak was traveling west on Spruce Cape Road in a blue Dodge truck and attempted to make a right hand turn onto Cut-Off Road. Upon doing so, A. North slid through the intersection due to the snow/icy roadway and collided with a stop sign on the corner. After colliding with the stop sign, A. North continued through the yard of R. Campos before eventually stopping. No injuries were reported and the Department of Transportation was notified of the broken stop sign.

    On 2/7/18 at 1545 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak responded to a report of a vehicle collision off of Rezanof Road near the Buskin River. Investigation showed that a white Toyota Rav4 driven by Jocelyn Zweifelhofer, 65 yoa of Kodiak was traveling southbound on Rezanof Road,hit a patch of shaded ice and lost control.  The vehicle went into the ditch and collided with a Spruce tree causing damage to the driver side of the vehicle. J. Zweifelhofer reported no injuries to her person. The vehicle was towed out of the ditch by Rhino Towing company and arrangements were made by J. Zweifelhofer to pick up the vehicle later in the day. The Lap and shoulder seatbelt was worn by J. Zweifelhofer.

    On 2/7/18 at approximately 0030 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI(report every dangerous driver immediately) report on Villanova Drive in Fairbanks. AST responded and contacted Willie Lewis operating a 2016 Kia Sedan. Investigation revealed Lewis was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Lewis was arrested for DUI and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center for remand. Bail was set at $500.00.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2-6-18 at approximately 1915 hours, AST received a report of a single vehicle collision near mile 258 of the Parks Hwy.  It was report a Silver SUV Buick with 3 female occupants had collided with a guardrail.  The complaint stated the vehicle was northbound traveling 30 mph and unable to maintain its lane.  The complaint also stated the 3 female occupants were visibly intoxicated when he had stopped to talk to them.  I responded from Nenana.  At approximately 1946 hours AST was southbound on the Parks Hwy when they observed a Silver 2014 Buick SUV bearing Alaska license plate#GYU509 northbound.  The vehicle had heavy frontend damage and the driver’s side front tire was flat and smoking.  The vehicle was in the southbound lane and nearly collided with the AST patrol vehicle head on. 

    AST conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near mile 285 of the Parks Hwy.  The driver was identified as Eileen M. Henry age 47 of Anchorage.  The front passenger was identified as Laneil Brasket age 54 of Anchorage, and the rear passenger of the vehicle was identified as Karen F. Copeland age 59 of Anchorage. 

    Investigation revealed Henry was operating the vehicle while under the influence of Alcohol.  During the investigation, AST received a second report of a Hit and Run near mile 278 of the Parks Hwy.  The complainant stated they were southbound when a vehicle northbound crossed the center line and sideswiped their vehicle.  The complainant stated the vehicle never stopped and continued northbound.  The complainant vehicle had been disabled due to the damage in the collision.  The complainant was operating a 2015 Green Chevrolet Silverado bearing Alaska license plate#JCN747.  The damage to the complainant’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000.  Investigation revealed Henry was driving when she collided with the pickup.  Subsequently, Henry was arrested for DUI, Assault in the 3rd degree, and Hit and Run. 

    Further investigation revealed Brasket was driving when the first collision occurred when she collided with the guardrail near mile 258 of the Parks Hwy, after which Henry took over driving.  Investigation also revealed Brasket’s license was revoked for a DUI and was operating the vehicle while she was under the influence of Alcohol.  Brasket was arrested for DUI and Leaving the scene of an accident. 

    Both Henry and Brasket were transported to the Nenana Trooper Post where they provided their breath sample’s into the Datamaster.  Henry’s results were .199% BrAC at approximately 2220 hours.  Brasket’s results were .155% BrAC at approximately 2244 hours.  Henry and Brasket were then transported to and remanded at the Fairbanks Correctional Center Facility.

    On 02/06/18, at approximately 1917 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to mile 144 Richardson Hwy to investigate the report of a single vehicle collision with injuries.  Investigation revealed a Silver 2017 Ford SUV was traveling southbound Richardson Hwy when it lost control changing lanes and struck a guardrail end head on.  The passenger was transported to Bassett Army Hospital for treatment of injuries.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.  Alcohol was not a factor and seatbelt use was reported.

    Type: Kidnapping, Assault, Burglary, Theft, Vehicle Theft

    Dispatch Text:

    On 1/30/2018 at approximately 0352 hours, a man contacted Alaska State Troopers to report that he and an adult female had been held against their will and assaulted in a room at the Ducks Inn. The complainant further stated that they were able to get away. Troopers contacted the two victims and determined that they were held against their will and assaulted. Investigation led to the arrest of Rachelle Brown, 27 of Kenai, Robert Dedrich, 30 of Kenai, and Clinton Starnes, 28 of Kenai, were all arrested on charges of Kidnapping, Burglary in the First Degree, Assault III, Robbery in the First Degree, Vehicle Theft and Theft in the Fourth Degree. Brown was additionally charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree. Investigation is ongoing.

    On 2/7/18, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, issued Justin Aubin, age 30 of Tempe, AZ, a single $310.00 strict liability citation for making a false statement on his 2017 resident sport fish license.  Investigation revealed that Aubin had claimed 1 year of Alaska residency when he had not been living in Alaska for that period of time.  The citation was issued in the District Court at Juneau.

    On 2/7/18, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, issued Greg Gropp, age 57 of Denver, CO, a $310.00 citation for making a false statement on his 2017 resident sport fishing license after an investigation revealed that Gropp had claimed being an Alaska resident for 1 year when he had not lived in Alaska for a year yet.  The citation was issued in the District Court at Juneau.
