    Dispatch Text:

    On February 8, 2018, Alaska State Troopers (AST) responded to AAA Moving and Storage to investigate a reported trespassing and theft.  Subsequent investigation revealed miscellaneous items had been stolen from the property, to include tires and fuel containers. 

    AST is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them at (907)225-5118.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 02/07/2018 at approximately 1715 hours the Alaska State Troopers received a report of theft of a mailbox unit on Sarah's Way in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that the mailbox unit was removed from the ground between 0200 and 0400 hours earlier that morning. If you have any information regarding this case you are encouraged to call the Alaska State Troopers at 373-8300.

    Type: Natural Death

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/8/18 at 1700 hours, Alaska State Troopers and EMS responded to an unresponsive male inside a residence on S. River Drive in Palmer.  Investigation revealed Kevin McDonough, age 56 of Palmer had passed away due to natural causes. The State Medical Examiner responded to the scene. No foul play is suspected and next of kin were notified. A local funeral home recovered McDonough.

    Type: Death Investigation

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/8/2018 at approximately 1832 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a welfare check at an address on Barra Loop in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Kim Pearce, age 68, of Wasilla, passed away from natural causes. No foul play is suspected. The State Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and released the remains to Janssen’s Funeral Home. Next-of-kin was notified.

    Type: Vehicle Theft 1

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/7/2017 at approximately 2111 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle theft in the area of Drowsy Dr. in Big Lake. Investigation revealed a white 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, GYK605, was stolen from the residence. The vehicle was later recovered near Ryan’s Creek Dr. in Big Lake. The investigation is ongoing.

    On February 8, 2018 at 0825 hours the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a domestic disturbance involving a knife. The investigation led to the arrest of Naomi Custer, a 24 year old female of Shungnak, for assaulting a family member with a knife and violating conditions of release from a previous domestic violence related arrest on February 3, 2018. Naomi was transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail where she is being held pending arraignment. Alcohol was a factor.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/5/18 at approximately 1905 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a 2 vehicle collision on the Kuskokwim River ice road approximately 3 miles south of Akiachak.  Investigation revealed that the driver of a red Chevrolet Silverado, identified as Samuel George, 58, of Akiachak, was traveling north to Akiachak when he crossed the path of an oncoming south bound Maroon Ford F-150, driven by Larry Black, 61, of Bethel.  Samuel was traveling with Elizabeth George, 63, of Akiachak.  Larry was traveling with Jesse Nickolie, 51, of Akiachak, Catherine Harp, 40, of Akiachak, and a two year old child.  Elizabeth, Larry, Jesse, and Catherine were transported to YKHC in Bethel for injuries sustained in the collision.  Samuel and Elizabeth were wearing their seat belts.  Larry, Catherine, and Jesse were not.

    On February 7, 2018 at approximately 1741 hours AST received information about a suspicious transaction for a trailer.  Lena Daigle, age 34, of Fairbanks was identified as the selling party.  Upon further investigation, it was revealed the trailer was stolen in 2017.  Daigle was placed under arrest and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center under the charges of Theft 2(x2), Removal of identification marks, Unlawful possession, Forgery 2, False information, and Criminal trespass.  Daigle is being held without bail.

    Type: Warrant Arrest/ Probation Violation

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/8/18 at approximately 0230 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Pontiac sedan for an equipment violation on Badger Road in North Pole. Investigation revealed the driver, Donnie Gunn age 23 of Fairbanks, had two outstanding warrants for his arrest on the original charges of Robbery I and Misconduct Involving a Weapon III. Further investigation revealed Gunn was in violation of his probation. Gunn was arrested for his warrants as well as violation his probation and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center for remand where he was held without bail.

    On 2/7/18, at 1015 hours, a Fairbanks based VPSO traveled to Eagle Community School to investigate a complaint. Investigation determine a 16 year old student was in possession of drug paraphernalia on school grounds.  A report will be forward to Juvenile Justice for review in this matter.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 02-03-18 at approximately 1800 hours, Tok AST responded to the Village of Dot Lake for a report of a man attempting to break into a gun safe with an axe. AST contacted 31 year old Dot Lake resident, Peter Charles. Subsequent investigation revealed Charles attempted to break into the gun safe with a hatchet and damaged it. Charles was placed under arrest and transported to FCC and held without bail.

    On 02-03-18 at approximately 2141 hours, Tok AST responded to a residence for a possible disturbance. AST arrived and subsequent investigation revealed 56 year old Tok resident, Mark Sakalaskas was in contact with someone from a prior case. Mark is on conditions of release and is not supposed to contact that person directly or indirectly. Mark was placed under arrest without incident and transported to FCC and held without bail on charges of unlawful contact 1 and violating conditions of release (VCOR).

    Type: DV Assault

    Dispatch Text:

    On February 8, 2018 at 5:00 A.M.  The Alaska State Troopers responded to an address off Srucewood street in Fairbanks for a 911 hang up.  An investigation revealed Ethan Hudson age 21 of Fairbanks, had committed the crimes of DV Assault III, DV Assault IV, DV Criminal Mischief IV, and interfering with a report of a DV crime.   APSIN revealed Hudson to also have an outstanding $3000 felony warrant for Assault III. Hudson was placed under arrest for DV crimes as well as his outstanding warrant.  Hudson was subsequently remanded to FCC without bail.

    Type: Search and Rescue

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2-7-18 at approximately 1743 Alaska State Troopers received a call from coordinators with Yukon Quest dogsled race reporting that a musher, was injured.  Race staff had located the musher, identified as Jason Campeau (age 43 from Canada), and got him to a warm cabin and requested a medevac.  RCC was contacted and a helicopter was launched from Ft. Wainwright at approximately 2130 hours. RCC was not able to locate Campeau and had to return to base due to low fuel. At approximately 0950 on 2-8-18 hours, RCC resumed the mission and at approximately 1250 hours on 2-8-18 an Army helicopter was able to respond and located Campeau.  Campeau was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2/8/18 at approximately 0700 hours, Tok AST received a report of a disturbance at a residence. Subsequent investigation lead AST into contacting 29 year old Fairbanks resident, Adam Nauglebaugh. Nauglebaugh was placed under arrest without incident after investigation revealed he strangled a family member, causing non-life threatening injuries. Nauglebaugh was held at Tok AST jail until arraignment the next morning. The next morning, Nauglebaugh was released on O/R (own recognizance) with the ability to contact the victim.
