    Location: Naukati
    Type: Assault IV and Resisting Arrest

    Dispatch Text:

    On March 9, 2019 at about 8:30AM, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales island responded to a residence in Naukati after receiving a report of an assault.  Investigation revealed 45 year old Dominique Crivello assaulted a family member.  Troopers were unable to initially locate Crivello.  At about 5:30PM, AST received information in regards to Crivello's whereabouts.  Troopers located Crivello and when they attempted to arrest him, he became combative and physically resisted arrest.  Crivello was placed under arrest and transported to the Craig Jail where he was remanded for Assault IV DV and Resisting Arrest.  He was held without bail.

    Location: Willow
    Type: Burglary; Theft; Criminal Mischief

    Dispatch Text:

    On 03/10/19 at 0501 hours, AST responded to the Willow DOT yard near mile 71 of the Parks Highway for the report of a burglary, damaged property, and theft of a "Jumping Jack" compactor worth over $1,000 that had just occurred. AST is requesting anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 745-3333 or AST dispatch at 352-5401.

    Location: Wasilla
    Type: Driving Offense; Minor Consuming

    Dispatch Text:

    On 03/09/19 at 2315 hours, AST performed a traffic stop on a blue 2011 Chevy Impala for failing to stop at a stop sign on Yenlo Street in Wasilla. AST contacted 5 juveniles in the vehicle and no occupants were over 18 years of age. The 15 year old female driver was issued a Misdemeanor citation for the original charge of Driving in Violation of an Instructional Permit with a mandatory court appearance at a later date. A 17 year old male passenger was issued a Minor Offense citation for Minor Consuming Alcohol with a mandatory court appearance at a later date. All juveniles were released to their parents on scene and the vehicle was impounded.

    Location: Big Lake
    Type: DUI; Refusal To Submit To Breath Test

    Dispatch Text:

    On 03/09/19 at 0430 hours, AST contacted a male in a red 2016 Toyota Van at the North Shore Campground in Big Lake. Investigation revealed Michael Rivers, age 61 of California, was driving while under the influence of alcohol. Rivers also failed to provide a breath sample for the Data-master and he was arrested for the original charges of DUI and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test. Rivers was transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where he was remanded into custody.

    Location: Willow
    Type: Burglary; Theft; Criminal Mischief

    Dispatch Text:

    On 03/08/19 at 1800 hours, AST responded to an address on Long Lake Road in Willow for the report of a Burglary, Criminal Mischief, and Theft of household electronics valued over $1,000. The same house was burglarized the previous year with a Toyo Stove being stolen and the fuel line being cut resulting in over $250,000 in damage to the property due to contamination. The suspect vehicle caught on camera in the most recent incident is described to be similar to an early 2000 model silver Chevy Trailblazer. AST is requesting anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 745-3333 or AST dispatch at 352-5401.

    Type: Reckless Driving; Leaving the Scene of an Accident

    On 03/08/19 at 2000 hours, AST responded to mile 64 of the Parks Highway in Willow for the report of a single vehicle rollover. Witnesses reported a pick-up truck and a sedan were racing north bound on the Parks Highway and drove into the south bound lane. The driver of a red 2006 Cadillac sedan swerved to avoid a head-on collision resulting in the Cadillac rolling over onto the shoulder.     Type: DUI

    Dispatch Text:

    On 03/10/2019 at approximately 0426 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Equestrian Place.  A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was found unoccupied at that location. Investigation determined the driver of the vehicle, Matthew Bartell, walked to his residence after colliding with a light pole. Bartell was contacted, found under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested for DUI. Bartell was remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and later released on his on recognizance.

    Type: Assault 4, Criminal Trespass 1

    Dispatch Text:

    On 3/9/19, Alaska State Troopers investigated a reported assault after the fact.  Investigation revealed that Jimmy Lampley, 47 yoa of Big Lake, entered a female acquaintance's home uninvited and later assaulted the female causing minor injuries.  Lampley remained in the home after the victim fled but was gone upon AST's arrival.  Charges of Assault 4 and Criminal Trespass 1 are being forwarded to the Palmer DA's office against Lampley and a warrant will be requested for his arrest.

    On 3/9/2019 at approximately 1738 hours, AST and EMS responded to a parking lot off of Ridgecrest Road in Meadow Lakes for a report of a unresponsive male in a pickup truck. The male was identified as Timothy Dean Jones, 51 YOA of Wasilla. EMS attempted to revive Jones but was unsuccessful and Jones was pronounced deceased on scene. The next of kin was notified. The investigation is ongoing.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 03/06/19 Bethel AST was notified of a DV assault in Napakiak. The local VPO was advised of the assault but no charges were filed with the court. On 03/08/19 Bethel AST took over the investigation. Investigation revealed Daniel Andrew, 20 yoa of Napakiak, had assaulted several people while intoxicated. Charges were filed with the Bethel court requesting an arrest warrant for Daniel Andrew for two counts of assault in fourth degree.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 3/9/19, at 1800 hrs, State Troopers in Hooper Bay responded to a report of a domestic violence related assault. Investigation found that Eli Totemoff, 21 of Hooper Bay, struck repeatedly his girl friend after he became agitated by her. Alcohol was a factor. Totemuff was arrested and remanded to Hooper Bay Public Safety on one count of Assault 4 DV.

    On 3/10/19 AST contacted Kyle Mute (age 28) in Marshall. Mute had a $250.00 warrant on a charge of Burglary 1st, Theft 2nd, Assault 4th (x2) and Theft 4th. Mute was transported to YKCC and lodged at Bethel.

    Location: Akiak
    Type: Assault 3x2 (DV), Criminal Mishcief 3, Reckless Endangerment

    Dispatch Text:

    On 3/9/2019 at approximately 0900 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an assault in Akiak.  Investigation revealed that Bryon Demantle, age 33 of Akiak, assaulted a family member causing fear of physical injury with a dangerous instrument and damaged several vehicles with a weapon causing approximately $1000 in damage.  Byron was contacted at his residence through an open window and he refused to come to the door.

    A $15,000 arrest warrant was requested and ultimately granted.  Byron had spent several minuets building a second wall behind the front door and barricaded himself inside.  His residence was forcefully entered and he jumped out of a window to the residence and fled on foot.  Troopers pursued Byron and after a brief foot pursuit Byron was taken into custody.  Byron was transported and remanded to YKCC and held without bail.

    On 3-10-19 at approximately 1603 hours, AST received the report of a disturbance at a residence near Persinger Road in North Pole. Troopers responded to the residence and contacted Michelle Wehrer, age 23 of North Pole. Investigation revealed Michelle struck a family member while they were operating a vehicle. Michelle was arrested for Assault 4 DV and Reckless Endangerment DV and remanded at FCC on both counts.

    On 3/9/19, at approximately 2113 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a suspicious vehicle call at Spenard Builders Supply in Soldotna. Troopers contacted Lonnie Playle, age 36, of Soldotna, and during the course of the investigation Playle was determined to have driven a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. Playle was arrested and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility on a charge of DUI.

    On 3-6-2019 at 2234 hours, AST responded to a REDDI report of a vehicle crossing into oncoming traffic. AST located and stopped the vehicle on Longmere Way off of the Sterling Highway. Investigation revealed Austin Jackson, 20 of Soldotna, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Jackson was arrested for DUI and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial.

    On 3-9-2019 at approximately 2234 hours Soldotna dispatch received a report of a man in need of medical assistance. Troopers arrived on scene and identified the man as Kyle Jack, 45 of Nikiski, who was found to have an outstanding warrant for $250 for DWLR. Jack was arrested and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial.

    Location: Crescent Lake
    Type: Search and Rescue/Death Investigation

    Dispatch Text:

    On 3/9/19 at 1824 hours, Troopers in Seward received a report that Jeffery Cheng (33 YOA of Anchorage) was skiing with two friends in the area of the Crescent Lake Saddle Cabin and was overtaken by an avalanche.  His friends, Bryce Fischer (27 YOA of Anchorage) and Cody Lourie (33 YOA of Anchorage) recovered Cheng from 6 ft of snow-cover and performed CPR for 30 minutes.  Fischer then left on foot/snowboard to the trailhead to get cell service to call for help.  Recovery efforts were made. US Forest Service, Alaska State Troopers, and Moose Pass EMS responded with snowmachines.  At approximately 2215 hours, Cheng was located deceased and transported to the Carter Lake trail head.  Peninsula Memorial responded for Cheng’s body.  The body is being sent to the SME for an autopsy.  NOK has been notified.

    On March 10th, 2019 at approximately 1705 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Vonda Street, Soldotna for an investigation. Investigation revealed Devin J. Jas, age 22 of Soldotna, had an active arrest warrant for VCOR. Jas was arrested for the warrant and transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held without bail.

    Type: Failing to report Dungeness crab on fish ticket, unlawful possession of fish, unlawful retention of female King Crab, unlawful possession of under size King Crab.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 03/8/2019, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, charged Cody Evans 75 YOA, Jennifer Geary 41 YOA and Sean Simpson 42 YOA all of Ketchikan. Evans was charged with failing to report Dungeness crab on a fish ticket, unlawful possession of fish, unlawful retention of female King Crab, and unlawful possession of under size King Crab. Geary and Simpson were charged with unlawful possession of fish, unlawful retention of female King Crab, and unlawful possession of under size King Crab. The fishermen were charged after State Troopers located 15 under size, female Red King crab aboard the F/V Kokomo in Ward Cove. Further investigation revealed the F/V Kokomo failed to report commercially taken Dungeness crab on an Alaska Department of Fish and game fish ticket before offloading and selling the crab.  Arraignment is scheduled in the Ketchikan District Court on 03/20/2019.
