AK17016790Location: KlawockType: Warrant Arrest
On 03/14/2017 at about 1102 hours, Prince of Wales Alaska State Troopers and Wildlife Troopers contacted 31 year old Curtis Demmert of Klawock at the Island Air Terminal in Klawock. Investigation revealed Demmert to be wanted on a $10,000 fail to comply with release warrant. Demmert was arrested and remanded to the Craig Jail.

AK17015878Location: GlennallenType: DUI
On 03/09/17 at approximately 2029 hours Glennallen AST contacted Cynthia Beshaw (35) of Glennallen while on a routine traffic stop. After investigation Beshaw was arrested for driving under the influence.

AK17016697Location: WasillaType: Warrant Arrest
On 3/14/2017 at approximately 2140 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a yellow 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier for an equipment violation at N Meridian Place and E Country Field Circle in Wasilla. Troopers contacted Mosiah Renk, age 18, of Wasilla, and Collin Smith, age 22, of Wasilla. Renk had 2 outstanding arrest warrants for 3 days to serve and $50 for Failure to Appear for DUI / DWLR. Smith had 2 outstanding arrest warrants for $500 each for failure to appear for DUI and MIW IV. Renk and Smith were both remanded to the MSPT.

AK17016712Location: KodiakType: MICS 5th Degree
On 03/13/2017 at approximately 2355 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) contacted a parked vehicle at Mill Bay Beach on Rezanof Drive. Investigation revealed the occupants possessed less than one ounce of marijuana. AST summonsed the driver, Lorean Bircher, age 19 of Kodiak, for misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 5th Degree, with an arraignment date of 3/24/2017 in Kodiak District Court.

AK17015704Location: Delta JunctionType: Burglary
On 3-9-17, AST received a report the IGA grocery store had been burglarized and multiple items had been stolen as well as money. An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this burglary is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-895-4800.

AK17016004Location: HopeType: MVC-D
On 03/10/2017 at approximately 1321 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle collision near milepost 72 of the Seward Highway. Investigation revealed that Sadie M. Oswald, age 17 of Anchorage, was traveling southbound in her maroon 2006 Toyota Tundra when she lost control of her vehicle due to icy conditions and entered the southbound ditch causing the vehicle to rollover. Oswald and her passenger reported that they were uninjured and that they were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. Alcohol was not a factor.

On 03/13/17, at approximately 0845hours, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Daniel Wright, age 36 of North Pole, near his residence. Investigation revealed Wright had an outstanding felony warrant for Failure to Appear for arraignment with an original charge of Theft II. Wright was arrested and remanded to FCC on the warrant with bail set at $2500 with court approved 3rd party/COR in Fairbanks District Court.

AK17016269Location: JuneauType: Fail To Stop At Direction Of Peace Officer 2nd Degree
On 3/11/17, at approximately 1821 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, attempted to perform a traffic stop on a 2004 red Pontiac Grand Am for moving violations on Mendenhall Loop Road and Nancy Street. Investigation revealed the driver, Ronald Skoog, 32 of Juneau, failed to stop as soon as practical and reasonable after being signaled to do so. Skoog was issued a misdemeanor summons for failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer in the 2nd degree, a misdemeanor. Skoog has a mandatory court appearance in the District Court at Juneau.

AK16031657Location: AnchorageType: Scheme to Defraud and Forgery 2
On 3/13/2017, Grandberry-Williams, Reed, Stephens, and Debaere appeared before the Anchorage Court and entered guilty pleas on Forgery and Scheme to Defraud charges. Grandberry-Williams pled guilty to one count of Forgery in the Second Degree and was sentenced to five years in jail with two suspended, and two years of probation. Reed pled guilty to one count of Scheme to Defraud and was sentenced to six years in jail with four suspended, and five years of probation. Stephens pled guilty to one count of Forgery in the Second Degree and was sentenced to a two-year SIS with 90 days to serve. Debaere pled guilty to one count of Forgery in the Second Degree and was sentenced to 2.5 years with six months to serve and three years of probation. Restitution will be ordered at a later hearing. The fifth defendant, Erdman, withdrew her plea and her case is being set for trial.
On 9/14/2016, Investigators from the Alaska State Troopers, Bureau of Investigations, Financial Crimes Units appeared before the Anchorage Grand Jury and presented a complex check fraud, theft, and identify theft investigation. This investigation discovered four individual victims, five financial institutions, and numerous local businesses accrued a financial loss. The estimated financial loss exceeds $60,000.00 between March 2016 and June 2016. Nakisha Reed, age 36, of Anchorage, was indicted on one count of Scheme to Defraud, one count of Theft in the First degree, one count of Falsifying Business records, and 26 counts of Forgery in the Second Degree. Derrick Grandberry-Williams, age 40, of Anchorage, was indicted on one count of Scheme to Defraud, one count of Theft in the First degree, one count of Attempted Criminal Impersonation in the Frist degree, one count of Falsifying Business Records, five counts of Forgery in the Second Degree. Mia Stephens, age 18, of Anchorage, was indicted on three counts of Forgery in the Second degree and one count of Theft in the Second degree. Jeffery Debaere, age 41, of Anchorage, and Kyleen Erdman, age 33, of Anchorage, were both incited on two counts of Forgery in the Second degree and one count of Theft in the Second degree. As of 9/15/2016, all the defendants in this case were incarcerated.
