Alaska State Troopers Press Release of Sunday, March 19, 2017

AK17017927Location: KetchikanType: Death Investigation
On 3-19-17 at approximately 1805 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a deceased female at a residence near mile 9 of the North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed Alina Larue age 22 of Spokane WA, was found deceased at a residence. The body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office. Next of Kin have been notified. No foul play was suspected.

AK17017822Location: WasillaType: Warrant Arrest
On 03/19/2017 at approximately 0152 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to mile 49 Holiday for a report of a trespass. Troopers contacted Troy Hays, age 25 of Wasilla, who had two outstanding warrants for his arrest for Failure to Appear on the original charge of NVOL. Hays was arrested and remanded to the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $1000 bail.

AK17017825Location: North PoleType: DUI - Alcohol
On 3/19/17 at approximately 0149 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Jamie Ellingson, 47 years old of North Pole. An investigation revealed that Ellingson was driving under the influence of alcohol. Ellingson provided a Datamaster sample of .147 BrAC. Ellingson was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was remanded.

AK17017827Location: SoldotnaType: Assault 4th DV
On 03/19/2017 at approximately 0312 hours, Soldotna AST received a 911 call in regards to a physical disturbance near Soldotna. Upon AST arrival investigation revealed Greg Hunter 26, of Scammon Bay recklessly caused physical injury to another and was arrested for one count of Assault in the Fourth Degree domestic violence. Greg hunter was transported to Wildwood Pre-trial and alcohol was a factor in this case.

On 3-13-17 at about 1620 HRS Hannah Kelson, 19 of Soldotna, was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant reference a charge of Theft. Kelson was transported to Wildwood jail and remanded.

On 3-19-17, at approximately 1501 hours, The Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle rollover near mile 108.5 of the Seward Highway. The investigation revealed Alex Michael Hefner, age 25 of JBER, was driving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound at mile 108.5 of the Seward Highway when he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, then rolled the vehicle. Hefner was wearing a seatbelt and sustained injuries from the crash and was transported by the Anchorage Fire Department to Providence Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The vehicle was totaled. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash and the investigation is continuing.

AK Wildlife Troopers
AK17017796Location: SoldotnaType: Warrant Arrest
On Saturday March 18, 2017 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a white 2015 Ford truck bearing Alaska license plate GYG637 for a moving violation. Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle Cristino Campos age 44 from Kenai was operating the vehicle with a revoked operator’s license and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Campos was remanded to the Wildwood Correctional Center without incident; bail was set at $150.
