    On 4-12-18, at approximately 1140 hours, Alaska State Troopers, Palmer Judicial Services warrant unit contacted Zachariah Vanbuskirk, age 33 of Wasilla for a warrant service at the Palmer Court. Vanbuskirk was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to comply with ASAP conditions of probation original charge DUI. Vanbuskirk was arrested without incident and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial. Bail was set at 3 days to serve then post $1,500.00 cash / corporate.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 4/11/2018 at approximately 1604 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a deceased male at a residence on Mayflower Lane in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Joseph C. Weaver, age 35, of Wasilla was deceased. The State Medical Examiner’s Officer responded to the residence and took possession of the remains. Next of kin was on scene and no foul play is suspected.

    On 4/10/2018 at approximately 0647 hours, during a routine call for service near S Shadowtree Dr., the Alaska State Troopers contacted Christopher Foust age 36 of Big Lake.  Investigation revealed Foust had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear in court for the original charge of Criminal Mischief.  Foust was arrested, transported and remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial with bail set at $250.00.

    Type: Sexual Assault II

    Dispatch Text:

    On 4/12/18, at approximately 0907 hours, Alaska State Troopers' Child Abuse Investigation Unit received a report of a Sexual Assault on a 14 year old. GIU investigators responded and took case responsibility.

    The 14 year old was interviewed at The Children's Place, in Wasilla, and disclosed being sexually assaulted. The 17 year old was identified and charged through Juvenile Justice. He was arrested on 4/17/18, on one charge of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, and transported to Mat-Su Youth Facility.

    On 4/12/2018, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance at a residence on Hickory St. in Palmer.  Investigation revealed a 14 year old male juvenile had assaulted a family member, committing the crime of Assault 4th DV.  During transport to the Mat-Su Youth Facility, the male juvenile damaged the inside of a patrol vehicle, committing the crime of Criminal Mischief IV.  The male juvenile was remanded to the Mat-Su Youth Facility in Palmer.

    On 04/12/2018 at approximately 2053 hours, AST received a call about a Theft on North Bald Eagle Drive in Wasilla. The investigation revealed license plates were taken from a gray 2011 Dodge Charger plate JHD961. The investigation is ongoing at this time.     On 04/13/2018, at approximately 0333 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on a sliver GMC pick-up truck plate FGZ319 on the Parks High Way in Wasilla. The vehicle failed to stop and drove off at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was terminated and the vehicle was located a short time later. The driver was not located at the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information on this incident are encouraged to contact Troopers at 352-5401.

    Type: Domestic Violence Assault 3rd Degree

    Dispatch Text:

    UPDATE: An arrest warrant has been issued for Sam Horner, 43, for Assault in the Third Degree (felony) and Assault in the Fourth Degree (Misdemeanor). Anyone with information as to his whereabouts are asked to contact the Kotzebue AST post at 907-442-3222 (Trooper Tilley).

    On April 8, 2018 at 1519 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of an assault in Shungnak. The investigation revealed a 43 year old male, assaulted a family member. AST responded to the village of Shungnak however were unable to locate the male subject. He is currently believed to be hiding in Shungnak or Kobuk. An arrest warrant is being filed. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts are asked to contact the Kotzebue AST post at 907-442-3222 (Trooper Tilley).

    Type: Domestic Violence Custodial Interference, Assault 4th Degree, Violating Conditions of Release

    Dispatch Text:

    Update: A no bail arrest warrant has been issued for Naomi Custer, a 24 of Shungnak, for Custodial Interference, Assault in the Fourth Degree and multiple counts of Violating Conditions of Release. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts are asked to contact the Kotzebue AST post at 907-442-3222. 

    On April 9, 2018 at approximately 0900 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of a disturbance in Shungnak. The investigation revealed a 24 year old female of Shungnak, assaulted a person and took a child in violation of a OCS placement agreement. Furthermore, the woman is currently on conditions of release in multiple Domestic Violence arrests. AST responded to the village of Shungnak but were unable to locate the woman. The child has been returned unharmed. An arrest warrant will be filed.

    On 04-12-2018 at approximately 0405, Aniak based Troopers received a report of two individuals were on a snow machine trip between Chevak and Mountain Village.  The individuals were last reported to be leaving Mountain Village, towards Chevak,  at 1930 hours on 4-11-2018 on a single, mechanically un-sound snowmachine.  Ground searchers from Chevak and Alaska State Troopers from St. Mary's with the use of the AST aircraft conducted a search of the area.

    On 04-12-2018 at approximately 1230 hours, two individuals were located, by the AST Aircraft, walking about 35 miles northeast of Chevak, along the river.  Information was relayed to ground searcher and the individuals were contacted and returned back to Chevak.  No injuries or casualties were reported from the incident.

    Type: Assault 4 (DV), Reckless Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct

    Dispatch Text:

    On 4/12/18 at approximately 10:15pm, Alaska State Troopers received a call regarding a vehicle that had driven into the ditch in Fairbanks.  While on scene, Troopers were approached by a female who gave information regarding the crash.  Investigation revealed that Leo Huntington, 25 years old of Fairbanks, had committed the crime of Fourth Degree Assault (Domestic Violence).  During the course of arrest, Leo attempted to evade Troopers by running into oncoming traffic while holding his young son in his arms.  Leo was arrested and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on one count of Fourth Degree Assault (Domestic Violence), one count of Reckless Endangerment, and one count of Disorderly Conduct.  No injuries were reported.

    On 4/13/18 at approximately 8:30pm, a taxi driver came to the Alaska State Trooper Post in Fairbanks with a fare that was refusing to get out of his vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the fare, Miriam Odom, 33 years old of Fairbanks, had two active arrest warrants.  Miriam was arrested and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on 4FA-18-00817CR MISD $200 (100% CA) CONCUR W 4FA-17-00339CR FTA ARR FOR THEFT IV and 4FA-17-00339CR $200 MISD FTA ARR FOR PTRP.

    Location: Heavy Down Drive, Kasilof
    Type: Misconduct involving weapons 4th degree, Disorderly Conduct 6th degree.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 4-12-18 at 2057 hours, Soldotna AST responded to the area of Heavy Down Drive in Kasilof for a report of an intoxicated male yelling loudly and shooting rounds off from a pistol. Upon arrival the male could be heard yelling at the top of his lungs. AST contacted the male identified by his AK OL as Charles F. Kuhlmann, 60 YOA of Kenai. Investigation revealed Kuhlmann was intoxicated and had been shooting his pistol. Kuhlmann was arrested for MIW 4TH  degree and DC 6TH degree and he was transported and remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held until sober and released (O/R) on his own recognizance.
