AK17023385Location: HydaburgType: Assault
On 4/12/2017, Prince of Wales State Troopers received a report of an assault which occurred in the village of Hydaburg. A 51 year old female from Klawock received multiple injuries which required her being medevaced to Anchorage for treatment. Suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

AK17023657Location: PalmerType: Suicide
On 04/13/17, at approximately 2332 hours, AST responded to a residence in Palmer for a report of a deceased juvenile male. Investigation revealed the juvenile male died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. EMS responded and pronounced him deceased on scene. The SME responded and took possession of the deceased. Next of kin was notified and no foul play is suspected.

AK17023667Location: FairbanksType: DUI
On April 14, 2017 at 2:15 AM, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after it failed to stop when entering a roadway. Troopers identified the driver as 21 year old Fairbanks resident Gage Raymond. Gage was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Gage was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was remanded on $1500.00 bail.

AK17023614Location: SoldotnaType: Warrant Arrest
On 4/13/17 at approximately 1745 hours, Soldotna AST received report of two trucks driving on the trails running parallel to Gas Well Rd. in Soldotna. AST contacted the drivers of the two trucks at a gas station in Soldotna. Stevenmichael Bowen was identified by his Alaska drivers license and a check through APSIN revealed Bowen had a warrant for his arrest. Bowen was arrested, transported, and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial with $250.00 bail.

Beginning tomorrow, motorist in Southeast Alaska, Kodiak and the Aleutians can be ticketed for driving vehicles with studded tires. Troopers can issue a $50 correctable citation for violators. Other law enforcement agencies may have steeper fines. Motorists across the rest of Alaska must have their studded tires off before May 1st to avoid a citation.
AS 28.35.155. Operation of Vehicle With Certain Tires Prohibited.
(a) It is unlawful to operate a motor vehicle with studded tires or tires with chains attached on a paved highway or road from May 1 through September 15, inclusive, north of 60 North Latitude and from April 15 through September 30, inclusive, south of 60 North Latitude, except that at any latitude on a paved portion of the Sterling Highway.

AK15057623Location: WasillaType: Sexual Abuse of a Minor I
On 08-17-2016 at 1200 hours, the Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Bureau of Investigation investigated a reported sexual abuse of a minor. A 17 and 21 year old female were interviewed and disclosed sexual abuse. On 04-13-2017, the Palmer Court issued an arrest warrant for John-Henry Voorhis age 36 of Wasilla, for SAM I x 7 and SAM II x 4, bail is $75,000.00 cash appearance plus CATP. On 04-14-2017 at approximately 1150 hours, John-Henry Voorhis came to the Palmer Trooper Post and was remanded to Mat Su Pre Trial for the warrant.

AK17023245Location: AnchorageType: Warrant Arrest
On 4-13-17, at about 1230 hours, AST contacted Thomas Earl Booker, age 56, near the corner of 14th Avenue and Ingra Street, in Anchorage, and arrested him for an arrest warrant. The warrant was for the original charge of Assault 4th. Bail for the warrant was set at $5,000 c/c. APD assisted with the arrest and transported Booker to the Anchorage Jail where he was remanded for the warrant.
