AK17024223Location: KetchikanType: Assault IV
On 4-16-17 at approximately 2240 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an assault at a residence off North Point Higgins Road. Investigation revealed a 29 year old male from Ketchikan had punched a 30 year old female. The charge of Assault IV is being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office.

AK17024476Location: KodiakType: Warrant Arrest
On April 17, 2017 at about 9:40pm, an anonymous citizen contacted the Alaska State Troopers (AST) and reported 26 year-old Desiree Heglin of Kodiak was inside a garage behind a residence on Hemlock Street. Subsequent investigation revealed the court requested a bench warrant for Desiree for failure to comply with conditions of probation. AST and the Kodiak Police Department responded and arrested Desiree without incident. She was transported to the jail where she remained pending arraignment.

AK17024102Location: New StuyahokType: Burglary 1st Degree / Theft 3rd Degree / Criminal Mischief 4th Degree
On April 16th, 2017 at approximately 0543 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglary at a residence in New Stuyahok that took place during Easter Service. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Darrel Andrew, age 18 of New Stuyahok, for one count of Burglary in the 1st Degree, one count of Theft in the 3rd Degree, and one count of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. Darrel was transported to Dillingham Correctional Center for remand.

AK17024513Location: CentralType: Death Investigation
On the morning of April 18, 2017 the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report from LifeMed indicating they responded to the village of Central for 55 year old Vanessa Fletcher, of Seattle, who was in cardiac arrest. Upon LifeMed’s arrival, local first responders were performing CPR for Fletcher. Lifesaving measures were terminated at 1:50am, at which point Fletcher was pronounced deceased. Fletcher was flown to Fairbanks for investigation, and Troopers, with the assistance of the State Medical Examiner’s office, determined Fletcher died from natural causes. Fletcher’s next of kin was on scene at the time of the incident.

AK17024503Location: KasilofType: Warrant Arrest
On 4/18/17 at about 0100 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted Dagnall Leigh Moran-Tacey, age 31 of Kenai, at a residence off Squirrel Street in Kasilof. Investigation revealed Moran-Tacey had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for arraignment with an original charge of Theft 4th degree. Tacey was transported to Wildwood pretrial where he was remanded with a $500 bail.

On 4/17/2017 at approximately 2045 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a green 1996 Ford pickup for an equipment violation near milepost 91 Sterling Highway, within the Sterling Highway Traffic Safety Corridor. The driver was identified as Bonnie Marlene Merlot, age 41 of Sterling. Investigation revealed she was driving the truck with no valid operator's license. She was issued a misdemeanor citation for No Valid Operator's License.

AK17022010Location: JuneauType: Failure to Submit Hunt Report
On 4-10-2017, Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Richard Ward, age 27 of Utah, for failure to submit a permit hunt report. Investigation revealed Ward failed to submit his RM046 moose harvest report by the November 3, 2016 deadline, per conditions on the permit hunt, to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G). ADF&G requested that a citation be issued. Ward was cited into the District Court at Juneau with a bail amount of $110.00.

On 4/17/2017, Ketchikan Wildlife Troopers cited Joshua Tyler (34) of Ketchikan for failing to return the Unit 1A Mountain Goat registration hunt report within the time specified on the hunt report. Bail for this offense is set at $110 in the First Judicial District of Ketchikan.

AK17022608Location: SitkaType: Fail to Mark Personal Use Shellfish Gear
On 4/9/17 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, located unmarked crab gear near Sitka. Investigation revealed Ryan Haug, age 38 of Sitka, was fishing the gear without proper markings on the float. Haug was issued a citation with bail set at $110 in the District Court at Sitka.
