    Location: Juneau
    Type: Search and Rescue

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/09/18 at about 1606 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) was notified by the Juneau Police Department (JPD) of 2 lost hikers on the mountain above the Flume Trail in Juneau. JPD advised the hikers could see the Federal Building, but could not make their way down. The hikers were identified as an 16 year old female and an 17 year old female both of Juneau. AST made telephone contact and visual contact with both. Neither was able to self rescue and were stranded in steep rocky terrain. Neither was equipped with any type of personal protection or survival gear. Juneau Mountain Rescue personnel responded and at about 1930 hours both juveniles were extracted safely from the mountain. The hikers did not require medical attention and their parents were contacted.

    Type: MVC - BOAT

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/9/2018 at 1443 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers responded to a single motor vehicle collision near MP 24 Boundry Road. Investigation revealed that 74 year old Raymond Castor of Sammamish Washington was driving his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, and pulling a 2011 Hewscraft Pacific Explorer boat. Castor reported he fell asleep at the wheel which caused the vehicle, and trailer in-tow, to enter the road ditch which caused the boat to become disconnected, and ultimately rolling onto the roadway. Multiple gallons of fuel subsequently was released onto the roadway and into the road ditch. The trailer and boat, valued at approximately $84,000 were both substantially damaged. Alcohol nor medications were a factor.

    Type: Warrant Arrest/False Information

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/10/2018 at 0930 hours, Prince of Wales contacted 26 year old Steven Peratrovich of Ketchikan as a passenger in a vehicle. Peratrovich provided a false name during the contact, and continued to provide the false name after he was confronted with his DMV photo proving his identity. Peratrovich was ultimately arrested on 1KE-18-0179CR (Theft II), and 1KE-17-0456CR (Criminal Trespass), and remanded to the Craig Jail with bail set at $5250. Charges of False Information forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for consideration.

    Type: Assault IV

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/10/18, at about 1647 hours, AST responded to a residence off E. Greenstreet Circle in Wasilla for a reported disturbance.  Investigation determined Matthew Vanatta, age 31 of Wasilla, assaulted a family member.  Vanatta was arrested for Assault IV (DV) and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was held pending his arraignment.

    Location: Chistochina
    Type: Violation of Conditions of release

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/08/2018 at approximately 2042 hours, Glennallen AST responded to a disturbance at a residence in the village of Chistochina.  During the investigation AST contacted Roylon Mark, age 32 of Tetlin, who was intoxicated and in violation of his conditions of release on a prior case. Roylon was placed under arrest for VCOR and transported to Glennallen post where he was held until sober.

    On 05/19/2018 at approximately 2055 hours, AST received a call about a theft on East Grizzly Bear Circle in Wasilla. The investigation revealed a light bar was taken from a Pick-up truck by unknown persons. Anyone with information on this incident are encouraged to contact Troopers at 352-5401.

    On 05/07/2018, at approximately 2100 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Vine Road in Wasilla.  An computer check of the driver, William Walker age 46 of Wasilla, revealed that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from another state.  Walker was arrested for being a fugitive from justice and transported to the MATSU Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded without bail pending extradition.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/08/2018, at approximately 0034 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the vicinity of the Glenn Highway and Farm Loop in Palmer for a report of a single vehicle collision with injuries.  Investigation revealed that the driver, a juvenile, had been traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle which caused the vehicle to spin and rollover.  The juvenile was transported to the MATSU Regional Medical Center to be checked for injuries.  Alcohol and/or drugs may have been involved.  The investigation continues.

    On 5-1-18, Dillingham based Alaska State Troopers received a report of a Sexual Abuse of A Minor that occurred in a Dillingham regional village.  The incident is ongoing at this time.

    On 05/10/2018 at about 0456 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a purple SUV for remaining stopped at a green light. Investigation revealed passenger Orachel Ngoriakl, 28 of Fairbanks, had a warrant for violating conditions of probation. Ngoriakl was arrested and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center. During the booking process Ngoriakl introduced and concealed several small packages of heroin. She was remanded on three counts of promoting contraband in the first degree, and three counts of tampering with physical evidence.

    On 05/10/2018 at about 0000 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a suspicious vehicle at a reportedly vacant residence near Farmer's Loop Road. AST responded and contacted William Walsh, 65 of Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Walsh had an outstanding $500 warrant for his arrest for violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order. Walsh was arrested and transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    Type: Burglary 1st, Assault 4th, Theft 4th, VCOR

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/8/18 at about 0930 hours, Troopers responded to an incident at an address on Stovall Ave in Anchor Point.  An investigation showed Roy Burke, 40 of Homer, had entered the residence without permission and assaulted several people inside the residence with bear spray.  Burke also took items from inside the house and fled the scene in a vehicle.  Further investigation showed Burke was on conditions of release from another criminal case.  An arrest warrant was issued for Burke.  Burke was contacted and arrested later the same night and transported to Wildwood Pretrial facility.

    On 5/4/18 at about 1145 hours, Troopers responded to a business in Ninilchik for a report that a female had been groped by a male coworker.  An investigation showed the male touched the female's rear end.  Charges have been sent to the DAO for review.

    On 5/2/18 at 0909 hours,Troopers received a report of a vehicle which had been stolen by the owner's minor son.  An investigation showed a 14 year old male had taken the vehicle without permission.  Further investigation showed the juvenile male was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.  The vehicle was located near mile 145 of the Sterling Highway and stopped by Troopers.  The juvenile male was arrested and remanded into the Kenai Youth Facility.

    On 5/10/18 at approximately 1456 hours Daniel Conlin, age 38 of Anchorage, reported his vehicle, a red 2007 Pontiac G5, was entered by unknown person(s) and ransacked while it was parked at the Tonsina trailhead parking area between 5/8/18 and 5/10/18. Items were stolen out of the vehicle and valued at approximately $20.00. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-262-4453.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Type: Commercial Troll Power Closed Period

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/22/18 Jeffery Farvour pled no contest to the charge of commercial fishing during a closed period using power troll gear, in the District Court at Sitka. He was fined $4000 with $2000 suspended, the proceeds from seized fish were forfeited, and Farvour was placed on probation for one year.

    On 5/7/18 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, cited Jeffery M. Farvour, age 49, of Sitka, for commercial power trolling during a closed period aboard the F/V Apollo.  Farvour was observed by AWT commercial trolling approximately 2.2 NM into the “Western Channel” troll area which was not opened by emergency order to commercial trolling.  Proceeds from a King salmon taken in the area were seized by the State.  An arraignment is set in the District Court at Sitka.

    Type: Take Sport Lingcod Closed Season

    On 5/8/18 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, cited Travis L. Hudson age 72, for retaining a sport caught lingcod out of season.  The citation stems from a contact with National Marine Fisheries-OLE Officers at Sealing Cove Harbor on 5/5/18, where Hudson was found to have retained the lingcod out of season (season begins 5/16/18).   NMFS forwarded the violation to Alaska Wildlife Troopers.  Bail is set at $160 in the District Court at Sitka.

    On 5-9-18, Juneau AWT issued a citation to Steven J. Opat, age 33 of Fairbanks for failing to possess a locking tag before taking a brown bear in GMU-4. Opat was given an arraignment date of 5/24/18 in the Juneau District Court.

    On 4/27/18, Juneau AWT received a report of suspicious activity in the parking lot of the Super Bear food market. AWT eventually contacted Wylie W. Guy, age 37 of Juneau. Guy was issued citations for operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license and failing to have auto insurance.
