    On 05/11/2019 at 1420 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Helen Lane for the report of a suspicious female. Investigation revealed, Wanda Haisley, age 37 of Wasilla, and was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Violating Condition of Release original charge Burglary/Theft. Haisley was transported and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial where she will be held without bail.

    On 05/11/2019 at approximately 1230 hours the Alaska State Trooper were called to a residence in the area of Vine Rd. for the report of a deceased individual. Investigation revealed a 45 YOA male appeared to have died of natural causes. No foul play is suspected and Next of Kin has not been notified.

    *Please note that this is a separate incident from the threat to a highschool that AST assisted the Palmer Police Department with on 5/9/2019. That threat was reported to PPD on 5/8/2019. That incident is an ongoing investigation by PPD, with AST assistance.

    Original text: On 5/9/2019 Palmer Police Department and Alaska State Troopers were made aware that a threat to shoot students at Palmer Junior Middle School was made from an Instagram account. Investigation led to the arrest of a Palmer Junior Middle School student. The juvenile is charged with multiple felonies related to the threat. The juvenile was remanded to Mat-Su Youth Facility.  The Alaska State Troopers worked in conjunction with the Palmer Police Department, AST Technical Crimes Unit, AST General Investigative Unit, The FBI Anchorage Office, Palmer Junior Middle School Administrators, and the Mat Su School District Student Safety Office to resolve this case.

    On 05-11-19, at 1938 hours, AST responded to a residence on Salmonberry St. after it was reported that Stephen A. King, age 32, of Wasilla was on scene. Stephen had an active warrant for his arrest for failing to remand on the original charge of Felony Refusal. AST contacted Stephen at the residence.  Stephen was arrested without incident and remanded into Mat-Su Pretrial where he was held with four months to serve.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/10/19 at about 2053 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Bethel received a call from Tribal Police in the village of Akiachak reporting a death at the village jail.  Earlier in the evening Robert Nick (54 yoa of Akiachak) had been placed into protective custody by tribal police officers due to his level of intoxication.  Robert was found unresponsive in the jail cell by tribal jail guards.  Life saving measures were attempted, but unsuccessful.   Troopers responded by boat to Akiachak and conducted an investigation.  The remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiners Office in Anchorage.  Next of kin has been notified.  This incident remains under investigation.   Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor.

    On 5/11/2019 at approximately 0806 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an assault in the village of Kokhanok. Troopers responded to the village and investigation revealed Jim Eknaty, age 38 of Kokhanok had physically assaulted a family member with a dangerous instrument in the course of attempting to obtain money. Eknaty was subsequently arrested without incident for Assault 2nd and Robbery 1st. Eknaty was transported and remanded into the King Salmon jail.

    Location: Fairbanks
    Type: Assault 4-DV / Disorderly Conduct / VCOR / Warrant Arrest

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05-11-19 at approximately 0336 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report of an active disturbance at a residence on Sandvik Street in Fairbanks. AST responded and contacted Michelle Rowland, age 26 of Fairbanks; Samantha Oman, age 22 of Fairbanks; and Emily Jordan, age 25 of Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Rowland assaulted a family member causing physical injury, Jordan violated her conditions of release (VCOR), and Oman continually made an unreasonably loud noise after being advised she was disturbing the peace of others. Investigation further revealed Oman had an active arrest warrant for Failure to Appear with an underlying charge of Driving While License Revoked for DUI. Rowland was arrested on one (1) count Assault 4th Degree/DV. Jordan was arrested on one (1) count VCOR. Oman was arrested on the warrant as well as one (1) count Disorderly Conduct. Rowland, Jordan, and Oman were all remanded to FCC.

    On 05-11-19 at approximately 0201 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks contacted Douglas Felix, age 32 of Artic Village, on Airport Way in Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Felix had violated his conditions of release by consuming alcohol. Felix was remanded to FCC on one count VCOR. Bail was set at $250.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/10/2019 at approximately 1000 hours Parks Highway AST received a report that a Caterpillar D3 had been stolen from the City of Anderson. AST responded and investigated the report. Upon completion of the scene investigation, AST traveled north on the Parks Highway towards the residence of a person known to have a history of being involved in thefts and having once been employed by the City of Anderson. In the proximity of the suspect's residence, AST noted that forested land had recently been cleared by heavy equipment.

    At approximately 1300 hours AST contacted the individual and found the stolen D3. The D3 was returned to the City of Anderson and charges will be filed against the suspect.

    On 5-11-19 at approximately 0843 hours, Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle Travelling on McGrath Road near Farmers Loop.  The vehicle briefly led Troopers on a pursuit prior to coming to a stop.  The driver, identified as Paul Williams, 33 of Fairbanks, was found to have an outstanding $500 misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.  Additionally, Paul was on conditions of release for a previous court case.  Paul was arrested for Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Police Officer in the 2nd Degree, Violating Conditions of Release, and the outstanding warrant and remanded at FCC.

    On 5-11-19, at 1550 hours Logan Holmer was located in good condition on a ridge North of Van Curlers airstrip by search members.  The Department of Public Safety would like to give a special thanks to WSAR, PAWS, CAP, the Rescue Coordination Center, and Chena Hot Springs Resort for their support to the searchers.



    On 5-9-19, at 0515 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report that four hikers were overdue from a trip on Far Mountain Trail from Chena Hot Springs Resort.  Three of the hikers returned on their own and one of the hikers identified as Logan Holmer, age 26, of Missouri did not return.  Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, WSAR, CAP, State Park Rangers and PAWS have deployed assets into the field to locate Holmer

    Location: Sterling
    Type: Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer I / MVC / Warrant Arrest

    Dispatch Text:

    On 05/11/2019 at approximately 0038 hours, Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Robinson Loop Road area of Sterling. The vehicle failed to stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued, at the end of which the suspect vehicle crashed into a ditch and the driver fled on foot into the woods. A short while later, AST attempted to contact a male walking nearby who then fled into the woods. A K9 was deployed and successfully tracked the male, identified as 42 year old Lyle Webb of Sterling. Webb was found to have an outstanding $500 arrest warrant for failing to appear and was arrested. Further investigation determined Webb was not the suspect driver. Webb was transported and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on the outstanding warrant and the originating case is still under investigation.

    On 05/09/2019 at approximately 1735 hours, Soldotna AST received a report of a physical disturbance which occurred at a residence near Kasilof. Investigation revealed Kris Kammers age, 37 of Soldotna recklessly caused injury to a family member and damaged property.  An arrest warrant has been requested in this case for multiple counts of Assault in the Fourth-Degree Domestic Violence, 3 counts of Criminal Mischief in the 4TH Degree, and 3 counts of Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree.

Following an investigation, James Fidler, 26, of Kasilof, was arrested for: two counts of Assault 3 (Domestic Violence), one count of Assault 4 (Domestic Violence), Misconduct involving a Weapon 3, Removal of ID Marks, Violating a Domestic Violence Protection Order (Domestic Violence), Criminal Mischief 5 DV (Domestic Violence).

    On May 11, 2019 at approximately 1809 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a Jeep that was damaged on Nautical Avenue in Seward. Investigation revealed an unknown suspect(s) entered onto the property and broke out the Jeep window, committing the crimes of Criminal Trespass 1 and Criminal Mischief 5.  Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.  Investigation is continuing.  If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-262-4453.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/11/19 at approximately 1937 hours, Soldotna based AST responded to report of a female slumped over in the driver seat of a pickup on Moose Range Drive in Sterling. Investigation revealed Annie Rice, age 36 of Soldotna, had operated a motor vehicle while impaired. Subsequent investigation revealed Rice was in possession of Heroin and Suboxone. Rice was arrested and transported to Wildwood Pretrial and remanded on the charges DUI and MICS 4. Rice was to be released on her own recognizance.

    On 5/11/19 at about 1330 hours, AWT contacted William Mukluk, 35 of Bethel near the Swanson's Grocery store in Bethel.  At the time of contact, Mukluk was observed trying to provoke a fight with a cab driver, and later with the AWT Trooper.  Mukluk was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct as well as resisting arrest.  Additional investigation indicate Mukluk is on misdemeanor probation and was in violation of several conditions of his probation.  Mukluk was remanded to YKCC.  Alcohol was a contributing factor in this incident.

    On 5/11/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, contacted William Nicholl, age 35 of Juneau, while he was personal use fishing for Dungeness crab.  Investigation revealed that Nicholl was not in possession of his sport fish license.  Nicholl was issued a correctable $220.00 citation for failing to possess his sport fish license as required.  The citation was issued in the District Court at Juneau.

    On 5/11/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, contacted Timothy Wright, age 52, and Rebecca Rocereto, age 40, both of Juneau, sport fishing near the Juneau-Douglas Bridge.  Investigation revealed that neither person had yet obtained a 2019 sport fishing license as required.  Both individuals were issued $220.00 citations for sport fishing without a license.  The citations were issued in the District Court at Juneau.
