AK17031005Location: GambellType: Felony Probation Violation
On 05/13/2017 at approximately 1630 hours, the Gambell VPSO responded to a report of an intoxicated male at a residence causing a disturbance. The VPSO contacted and subsequently arrested Brendan Oseuk, age 42, of Gambell for violating his felony probation conditions by consuming alcohol. Mr. Oseuk was remanded to the Gambell public safety building where he was held with no bail pending arraignment

AK17030976Location: FairbanksType: Vehicle Theft 1 and DUI
On May 13, 2017 at approximately 1606 hours, AST contacted Ashleigh Miller, age 24, of Nenana, in Fairbanks for a welfare check. The investigation revealed Ashleigh had committed the crimes of Vehicle Theft in the First Degree and Driving Under the Influence. She was arrested and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center where she was remanded and held on no bail.

AK17031078Location: FairbanksType: MIW III/NVOL/Warrant Arrest
On May 14, 2017 at 1:47 AM, the Alaska State Troopers were responding to a residence for a possible burglary in progress. Troopers spotted one of the vehicles that met the description given by the caller. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as 43 year old Fairbanks resident Joshua Kelley. Kelley was subsequently arrested for Misconduct Involving a Weapon III, No Valid Operators License, and an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Kelley was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was remanded without bail.

AK17029879Location: SoldotnaType: Vehicle Theft
On 5-9-2017 the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle theft regarding a 2002 Ford Focus. On 5-14-2017 the vehicle was located in the Soldotna area and William Strain (38 YOA of Kenai) was issued a citation charging him with Vehicle Theft I. The vehicle was returned to the owner.

AK17030402Location: NenanaType: Unlawful Taking of Big Game with Bait or Scent Lures
On 05/11/17, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Steven Theel, age 41 of North Pole. Investigation revealed Theel was using an unskinned fox as bait at his registered bear bait site in violation of his bear bait permit. Theel was issued a summons with a mandatory court date of 06/08/17 at 1430hours in Nenana District Court for the violation.

AK17030837Location: North PoleType: Methods and Means - Treble Hook in Single Hook Waters
On 05/12/17 at approximately 2200 hours, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Arron Eubanks, age 23 of North Pole while he was fishing on Badger Slough. Investigation revealed Eubanks was using a treble hook in single hook waters while targeting grayling. Eubanks was issued a citation with bail set at $110 in the Fairbanks District Court for the violation.

AK17030688Location: Elliot HighwayType: Using Bear Bait/Scent Lure Near Residence
On 05/13/17 a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Jason Lagasse, age 41 of Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Lagasse established and operated a bear bait station within a 1/2 mile of an occupied residence near Mile 22 of the Elliott Highway. Lagasse was issued a summons for the violation with a mandatory court date in the Fairbanks District Court on 06/13/17 at 0900 hours.

AK17027570Location: WasillaType: Fishing in closed waters
On 04/30/2017 at approximately 1600, Alaska Wildlife Troopers conducted a patrol of Cottonwood Creek at Seward Meridian. Investigation revealed Linda Grimes, age 69 of Wasilla, was fishing in the closed waters of Cottonwood Creek. Grimes was issued a citation for sport fishing in closed waters and retaining 4 fish, bail was set at $190.

AK17027547Location: Little Su RiverType: Use of Bait Where Prohibited
On 04/30/2017, Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a citation to Gale Lancaster, age 35 of Big Lake, for Sport Fishing with bait in waters closed to fishing with bait. Bail was set at $ 110, in the Palmer District Court.

AK17031188Location: JuneauType: Retain Undersize Personal Use Dungeness Crab
On 5/13/17, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, contacted Prudencio Camba, age 56 of Juneau, as he was returning from crabbing at Echo Cove. Investigation revealed that Camba had retained a Dungeness crab under the legal size limit of 6.5 inches. Camba was issued a $130.00 citation in the District Court at Juneau for retaining the undersized Dungeness crab. The crab was returned to the water unharmed.

AK17030221Location: DillinghamType: Commercial Fishing Violation
On 5/5/2017, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Dillingham Post cited Jasen Nash, age 38, of Oregon for operating the tender vessel Tempest in the Togiak Herring Fishery without a 2017 ADF&G vessel license. Bail was set at $210.00 in the Dillingham District Court.

AK17030238Location: DillinghamType: Commercial Fishing Violation
On 5/6/2017, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Dillingham Post cited Jay Simpson, age 22, of Oregon for working as a crewmember aboard a tender vessel in the Togiak Herring Fishery when he did not have a valid 2017 commercial crewmember license in his possession. The operator of the vessel, Michael Reddekopp, age 53, of California was cited for employing an unlicensed crewmember. Bail was set at $260.00 for each in the Dillingham District Court.
