AK19030849Location: KetchikanType: Aircraft Collision - Fatality
Correction: Louis Botha, 46-year-old male, from San Diego, California.
The deceased individuals from the plane crash that occurred on 5/13/2019, near Ketchikan, Alaska, are identified as follows:
- Randy Sullivan, 46-year-old male, pilot, from Ketchikan, Alaska.
- Simon Bodie, 56-year-old male from Tempe, New South Wales, Australia.
- Cassandra Webb, 62-year-old female from Saint Louis, Missouri.
- Ryan Wilk, 39-year-old male, from Utah.
- Louis Botha, 46-year-old male, from San Diego, California.
- Elsa Wilk, 37-year-old female, from Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
Next of kin notifications have been made. The Canadian and Australian Consulates have been notified of the incident. The NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash.

AK19030635Location: PalmerType: Theft from Vehicle
On 5-12-19 at 1404 hours, Alaska State Troopers dispatch received a report of a computer stolen from a work vehicle on Showers Street in Palmer. Investigation shows someone entered the property on Showers Street sometime between 2000 hours on 5-11-19 and 1300 hours on 5-12-19 and took a Dell laptop work computer from the unlocked vehicle in the driveway. The computer is valued around $1,000. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call Trooper dispatch at 352-5401.

AK19031224Location: WasillaType: Criminal Trespass 1 (DV)
On 05/14/2019, at approximately 2155 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in vicinity of Rainbow Park Drive in Wasilla for a report of a Trespass. Investigation revealed that Victor Waag, age 33 of Wasilla, had previously been given a lifetime trespass notice from a family member's residence and was discovered on the property. Waag was arrested and transported to the MATSU Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded, without bail, on a charge of Criminal Trespass 1 (DV).

AK19031238Location: TogiakType: MIW/Felony Assault
On 05/15/19 approximately 0345 hrs., State Troopers received a report in Togiak that unknown person or persons had fired a shotgun three times striking a residence. The suspect(s) then fled the scene on an ATV.

AK19031419Location: AleknagikType: DV Assault 4
On 5/15/19 at approximately 1618 hours, Dillingham AST received a report of a disturbance at a residence in North Shore Aleknagik. Investigation revealed Trevona Madsen, age 36 of Aleknagik, assaulted an adult male. Madsen was arrested for DV Assault 4 and booked at Dillingham Jail without bail pending arraignment.

AK19031433Location: NenanaType: Assault in the Fourth Degree, Interfering with a report of a crime involving DV, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree DV
On 5/15/19, at 1735 hours, a 33 year old female reported to AST Dispatch she had been assaulted by an intoxicated male subject. Investigation determined Timothy Ketzler Sr age 55 of Nenana assaulted his roommate with an ax handle. Ketzler Sr. is further charged with damaging a cell phone in an attempt to prevent his roommate from calling AST. Ketzler Sr. was arrested and transported to FCC where he was remand without bail.

AK19031231Location: NinilchikType: DUI & MIW 4
On May 14th, 2019 at approximately 2310 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were conducting routine patrol when a male was observed standing next to a tipped over motorcycle near Ninilchik. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Tanner Combs, age 35 of Ninilchik, for one count of Driving Under the Influence, and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. Tanner was transported to the Homer Jail for remand.

AK19030727Location: KasilofType: Vehicle Theft I / Theft II / Fail to Stop for a Peace Officer in the First Degree
UPDATE: The investigation in to this incident identified the suspect as Scott Allan Deboard, age 23 of Kasilof. Deboard was arrested on 6/1/19 at approximately 0140 hours in the Soldotna area on multiple outstanding arrest warrants. Deboard was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held without bail on the arrest warrants as well as additional charges in relation to multiple burglaries and thefts. In reference to this investigation, Deboard was charged with Vehicle Theft in the first degree, Theft in the second degree, theft in the fourth degree, and fail to stop for a peace officer in the first degree.
On 5/13/19 at approximately 0400 hours, Granite Construction reported to Soldotna AST that one of their F450 trucks had been stolen from the job site near Mile 110 of the Sterling Highway. The truck was reported to have a jersey barrier picker in the back, valued at approximately $5000. At around 0430 hours the vehicle was spotted on the Sterling Hwy and at approximately 0435 hours Soldotna AST attempted to stop the truck. The driver failed to stop and after a short pursuit the driver ditched the truck behind the Decanter Inn and fled in to the woods. The truck was recovered with no damage, but the jersey barrier picker was missing. Further investigation on 5/14/19 located the jersey barrier picker in a gravel pit off of Dorothy off Tustumena Lake Road. A suspect has been identified and investigation is continuing.

AK19031411Location: JuneauType: Fail To Obtain GMU 4 Registration Brown Bear Permit
On 5/15/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, contacted and issued John Mikesell, age 29 of Juneau, a $170.00 citation for failure to obtain a GMU 4 Brown Bear registration permit, after an investigation revealed that he had harvested a Brown Bear from Admiralty Island in GMU 4 without first obtaining the registration permit. The citation was issued in the District Court at Juneau.

AK19031450Location: JuneauType: Retain Undersize Personal Use Dungeness Crabs
On 5/12/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, contacted David Lee, age 43 of Juneau, while he was personal use fishing for Dungeness Crabs near Berners Bay. Investigation revealed that Lee was in possession of 7 undersize Dungeness Crabs. The crabs were seized and later returned to the water unharmed. Lee was issued a $260.00 citation for retaining undersize personal use Dungeness Crabs. The citation was issued in the District Court at Juneau.

On 5-15-19, Mallory Nilsen, age 21 of Petersburg was issued a citation by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for failing to report his hunt activity as required on his registration moose permit (RM038). Bail is set at $120 in the Petersburg District Court.

AK19024968Location: PetersburgType: Commercial Dungeness Violation
On 5-14-19, Derek Knudsen, age 33, of Petersburg was issued a summons by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. Knudsen, the captain and permit holder aboard the commercial dungeness crab vessel Curlew was cited for unlawfully storing his crab gear in closed water. Arraignment is set for May 28th at 1000 in the Petersburg District Court.

AK19031282Location: AnchorageType: Negligent Feeding of Wildlife
On 5/15/19, The Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Anchorage Post issued a citation to Lineni Makihele 54 YOA of Anchorage, AK. Lineni was cited for negligent feeding of wildlife when a black bear was observed by ADF&G employees feeding on Lineni’s trash that had been left out and not properly secured in a bear resistant container. Bail was set at $320.

AK19028784Location: KetchikanType: No Biodegradable Escapement Mechanism / No Buoy Markings
On 5/15/2019, AWT in Ketchikan issued citations to Scott Nall, 61 of Ketchikan, for failing to have biodegradable escapement mechanisms and buoy markings on his personal use shrimp gear. Each citation has a set bail of $120.00.
