    Dispatch Text:

    On 5-18-17, at approximately 1345 hours, Alaska State Troopers with the Criminal Suppression Unit contacted Cameron Alcantra (age 48 of Palmer) at a residence off Soapstone Road in Palmer.  Alcantra was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear for Remand on an original charge of DUI.  Alcantra was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded into their custody and held pending his arraignment.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/16/2017 at approximately 1607 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a collision on Knik Goose Bay Rd. near Foothills.  Investigation revealed a black 1993 Toyota Tacoma pickup, driven by Daniel Alexander, 37 of Wasilla, was southbound on KGB when it crossed the centerline into the northbound lane and struck a green 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Curtis Tucker, 30 of Wasilla. Both Alexander, who was not wearing a seatbelt, and his passenger, a child in a car seat, were ejected from the vehicle. While being transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Alexander succumbed to his injuries. The passenger in Alexander’s vehicle was flown to Providence Medical Center in Anchorage for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Tucker and his five passengers were transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.  Alexander’s NOK have been notified.

    Type: Assault 3 - DV; Assault 3 - on Police Officer x 3

    Dispatch Text:

    On May 18, 2017, at 0206 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance in Buckland. Randy Lee, a 29 male of Buckland, was taken into protective custody by family members as well the Village Police Officers. During the process, Randy caused injury to a family member as well as one of the VPO's. At approximately 0730 hours, Randy attempted to escape from protective custody, injuring a second VPO. At approximately 1140 hours, a Med-Evac arrived in Buckland to transport Randy for a protective custody evaluation. While being transferred to the plane, Randy assaulted a VPO. Both VPO's and the family member sustained minor injuries. The investigation is on going.

    On 5/18/17 at approximately 1247 hours, Dillingham AST received a report from Gust Griechen III (64), stating his son Gust Griechen IV (25) is  missing from Pilot Point since 5/1/17, and possibly in Dillingham, AK.  Investigation reveals thus far that Griechen IV never departed Pilot Point and was last seen on the afternoon of 4/27/17 wearing a blue coat and large blue stereo head phones, walking towards Dago Creek.  Search efforts continue.  Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Griechen IV is asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers Dillingham Post at 1-866-742-5641 or 1-907-842-5641.

    On May 17, 2017 at 0344 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report of a domestic disturbance in progress where the girlfriend was “ramming” the garage door repeatedly with her vehicle. She left prior to AST’s arrival. The investigation is on going.

    On 5/18/17 at approximately 0449 hours Fairbanks AST received a report of a vehicle rollover crash on Sheep Creek Rd.  AST responded and arrived shortly after the report.  The driver was not located.  If anyone has information on this crash, please contact AST at 907-451-5100.

    On 5-16-17, at  1905 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that Dustin Gonzales, age 28, of Fairbanks hit his girlfriend in the face during an argument.  Investigation revealed Dustin struck his girlfriend in the face causing physical injury.   Dustin had two prior convictions of assault 4.  Dustin was remanded to Fairbank Correctional Center.

    Type: Assault IV DV, Disorderly Conduct, Assault III on a Police Officer

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/17/17 at approximately 1030 hours, Troopers responded to a residence in Nikolaevsk, AK near Anchor Point, AK for the report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed Nikolai N. Yakunin, age 41 of Nikolaevsk had assaulted a family member. During the investigation Yakunin threatened to hit Troopers with a metal pipe and created a disturbance. Yakunin was arrested, transported to Homer Jail and remanded on the charges of Assault IV DV, Disorderly Conducted and Assault III on a Police Officer.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/18/2017 at approximately 1015 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a white 1994 Chevrolet truck on K-Beach Road after observing the driver not wearing a seatbelt.  The driver was identified as William Choates, age 34 of Kenai. Investigation revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to comply with ASAP.  He was arrested and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.  Bail was set at $1000.

    Type: Two Tier I permits in a household

    On 05/16/2017 at approximately 1830 hours, David Lott, age 30 of Anchorage, was contacted by an Alaska Wildlife Trooper, MATSU West Post, for obtaining two Tier I permits in the same household.  Investigation revealed that a Tier I permit was obtained for that household for the 2016 hunting season prior to Lott obtaining his.  Hunt conditions allow one permit per household. Lott was issued a misdemeanor citation to appear in court and was released from the scene.

    On 05/16/2017 at approximately 2330 hours , Bruce Abbott, age 33 of Anchorage, Steven Lopez, age 32 of JBER and Danon Weatherd age 41 of JBER were cited by an Alaska Wildlife Trooper, MATSU West Post, for sport fishing during closed hours. All parties were observed fishing in Ship Creek after the 2300 hour closure. Citations were issued to all and they were released from the scene.

    On 5/14/17, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Hoonah Post, while in Yakutat cited Bradley Wollam, age 62 of Washington, for unlawfully sport fishing with more than one line while anchored in Monti Bay .  Wollam was issued a $110 citation in the District Court at Yakutat.

    On 5/17/17, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Hoonah Post, while in Yakutat cited Devon Fernandez, age 38 of Yakutat, for unlawfully failing to salvage two river otter that he had trapped along the Situk River.  Fernandez was given a mandatory court date in the District Court at Yakutat on 5/18/17.

    On 5/14/17 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, contacted Jacob Stappler, age 30 of Sitka, at Crescent Harbor.  Investigation revealed Stappler had retained and possessed a king salmon less than 28 inches in length while sport fishing.  Stappler was cited with bail set at $260 in the District Court at Sitka and the fish was seized.

    On 5/13/17 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, contacted Karimae Carlson, age 24, of Sitka, and Kelsi Kubik, age 23 of Sitka, sport fishing in Sitka Sound.  Investigation revealed neither Carlson or Kubik had a valid 2017 sport fishing license.  Both were cited with bail set at $210 each in the District Court at Sitka.

    On 05/09/2017 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Wrangell Post, contacted Robert Shilts, age 80 of Wrangell, while commercial hand-trolling for salmon on the F/V Misty.  Investigation determined Shilts retained a king salmon that was less then the minimum size of 28 inches.  Shilts was issued a summons to appear in the District Court at Wrangell for retaining an undersized king salmon.

    On 5/15/17, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers Juneau post, issued Jordan Smith, age 30, of Charlotte, NC, a citation for obtaining a resident sport fish license in 2014 when he did not meet Alaska's residency requirements.  Smith was given a $310 fine out of the Juneau District Court.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 5/18/17 at 1145 hours, the Nome Western Alaska and Narcotics Team notified Alaska State Trooper patrol units that Will Mathisen Jr. 35 yoa of Nome, had been observed riding in a green Dodge truck down front street. A prior record check showed that W. Mathisen Jr. had an outstanding arrest warrant for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Third and Fourth Degrees involving the sale of heroin in Nome. Alaska State Trooper patrol units contacted W. Mathisen Jr. and subsequently arrested him without incident. W. Mathisen Jr. was remanded to Anvil Mountain Correctional Center and will be arraigned at a later date.
