    On 6/11/2019 at about 0715 hours, the Alaska State Troopers took the report of a stolen 2016 Yamaha Grizzly 550 ATV. It is green in color with a cracked right front fender. The ATV and a backpack containing petsonal items were stolen from a wooded area near Seth Avery Cir. in Palmer sometime between 0100 and 0400 hours that morning. This case remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the theft or whereabouts of the ATV is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-352-5401, or Crime Stoppers.

    On 6/11/19 at approximately 0515 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a driver slumped over the wheel on Heritage Farm Drive near Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Genevieve White, age 45 of Wasilla was driving a black 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee (plate LBA770) while impaired by alcohol. White was arrested for DWLR and felony DUI as she had two prior convictions for DUI in the past 10 years. Genevieve White was subsequently charged with felony Refusal after refusing to provide a breath sample. White was transported to MSPT where she was remanded with no bail.

    On 6/9/19 at approximately 2122 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Cardiff Ln in Wasilla for the report of a disturbance. An investigation revealed Anna Ivanoff, age 53 of Wasilla, had assaulted a family member, by recklessly causing physical injury. Ivanoff was transported and remanded at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer without bail.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/10/2019, at approximately 1826 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a REDDI vehicle heading Westbound on the Parks Highway toward Big Lake. The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of the Parks HWY and Meadow Lakes Loop. Investigation revealed that Leonard Ethrington, age 38 of Willow, was operating a motor vehicle while his license was revoked for a previous DUI. Ethrington was issued a summons for the offense, as well as, another citation.

    On 6/10/2019, at approximately 2244 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a burglary at a residence off N Tamar Circle in Wasilla. Investigation revealed approximately $1000 worth of building materials and $2000 worth of tools were stolen from inside the residence. Investigation is ongoing.     On 06/11/2019, at approximately 0029 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the vicinity of King Arthur Drive and No Name Hill Road in Houston for a report of a disturbance.  Investigation revealed that David Duplechain, age 48 of Houston, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Anchorage.  Duplechain was arrested and transported to the MATSU Pre-Trial Facility where he remanded with a bail of $50.00.

    On June 10th, 2019 at 1916 hours, Nome AST received a report of a red Ford truck stuck in the ditch along the Nome Council Highway. AST responded and contacted Nathaniel Oconnor, 36 of Nome. The investigation resulted in his arrest for Driving Under the Influence, Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Driving with a Revoked License. Nathaniel was remanded to the Anvil Mountain Correctional Center without incident.

    On 06/11/19 approximately 1130 hrs., State Troopers in Togiak contacted Malcolm R. Upton, age 25, of Togiak at the airport in Togiak.  Investigation revealed that Upton was in possession of multiple marijuana products including over 26 ounces of marijuana bud. Charges are pending additional investigation. Upton was released at the scene.

    On June 10, 2019 at 1953 hours Alaska State Troopers responded to a REDDI report near Geist Road McDonalds. Troopers contacted the driver who was identified as Vincent Nickoli, age 28 of Fairbanks. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Nickoli for Driving Under the Influence and Driving in Violation of Restrictions. He was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was held on $500 bail.

    Type: Vehicle Theft 1, Felony Elude Evade, Assault 3 on a Police Officer, Criminal Mischief 3, MICS 4, VCOR

    Dispatch Text:

    On 6/11/19 at approximately 1033 hours, a patrol Trooper observed a stolen vehicle near Rickert Street driven by a single male occupant. The Trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle eluded Troopers from Fairbanks to Badger Road and then returned to Fairbanks. Speeds reached up to an estimated 115 MPH on the Richardson Highway. Fairbanks Police Department assisted in setting up multiple spike strip locations to disable the vehicle, but the driver evaded them by veering off the road. As the vehicle came to the intersection of the Steese Highway and 10th Street in Fairbanks, troopers deployed spike strips and deflated both tires on the vehicle’s passenger side. The driver veered the truck toward the Trooper who deployed the spike strips, forcing the Trooper to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. The truck came to a stop at Trainer Gate Road and Farewell Street and the driver attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody. The driver was identified as Josiah William Thurston, 18 of Fairbanks and arrested for Vehicle Theft 1, Felony Elude Evade, Assault 3 on a Police Officer, Criminal Mischief 3, MICS 4, and VCOR. The stolen vehicle was damaged during the pursuit when it hit a road sign negotiating a corner. No injuries were reported and no other property is known to be damaged. Thurston was remanded to FCC and the vehicle released to the owner.

    On 6/10/2019 at approximately 1900 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a hit and run in Nikiski. Investigation revealed Mathew Lay age 23 from Nikiski became upset due to a four-wheeler speeding in the area. Mathew Lay located the four-wheeler and rammed the four-wheeler with his vehicle. This resulted in two individuals having minor injuries. Neither party was transported from the scene. Mathew Lay was remanded for Assault 3 times two, Criminal Mischief, Reckless Driving and Driving While License Suspended.

    On 6/10/19 at approximately 1120 hours the Alaska State Troopers received report of a burglary at a cabin off the Escape Rt near Herring Rd. The complainant stated that a bug tent, a solar radio, and a lantern had been taken. At this time no suspects have been identified.     On 6-10-19 at 1743 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded with Central Emergency Services to an ATV accident on Robinson Loop near Higher Ground.  Investigation revealed Tori Verba (13 YOA of Sterling) was riding her ATV when she lost control and crashed.  Verba was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.  Verba was wearing a helmet.  The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.  Next of kin was notified.

    On 6/11/2019 at approximately 1853 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a reported disturbance on the side of the Sterling Highway near milepost 103.  Investigation revealed Devan Renee Chandler, age 21 of Soldotna, had approached another person to confront them over a suspected theft.  A fight ensued after Chandler unlawfully entered the other's vehicle.  Chandler was issued misdemeanor citations for Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Trespass 2nd.

    On June 11, 2019, at approximately 3:01 pm, Alaska Wildlife Troopers based out of Cordova received a report of a fisherman using illegal gear at the Eyak Lake dam. Between June 1-September 30, only single hook artificial flies with a hook gap of 3/8" or less between point and shank with no additional weight to the line are authorized. Troopers responded and subsequent investigation resulted in 20 year old California resident John B. O'BRIEN receiving a citation for illegal methods and means. Bail is set at $120.

Griffin was cited after investigation revealed he had taken a Brown Bear in Unit 1A on 05/19/2019 without obtaining a 2019 Brown Bear registration hunt permit. Bail is set at $170 in the Ketchikan court.
