    Type: Burglary; Criminal Mischief

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/07/19 at 1850 hours, AST responded to a church near mile 2 of Big Lake Road in Big Lake for the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed a window was broken on the church and the suspect entered the building. It was apparent the suspect was injured on the broken window as blood drops were located throughout the building. The suspects blood sample was sent to the crime lab for DNA testing. AST is requesting anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 745-3333 or AST dispatch at 352-5401.

    Type: Assault in the 4th Degree

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/08/19 at 0212 hours, AST responded to a residence near Carmel Road in Wasilla for the report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed Jerry Odonnell, age 30 of Wasilla, assaulted a family member during the incident. Odonnell was arrested for the original charge of Assault in the 4th Degree and he was transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where he was remanded into custody.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/08/19 at 2036 hours, AST responded to a business on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway near Seward Meridian Drive in Wasilla for the report of an intoxicated driver. AST contacted Samuel Becker, age 37 of Wasilla, during the incident. Investigation revealed Becker was driving under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested for the original charge of DUI. Becker was transported to the MSPT facility in Palmer where he was remanded into custody.

    Type: REDDI/DUI/NVOL

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/09/2019 at approximately 1035 hours, AST received a report of a REDDI vehicle traveling northbound on the Parks Hwy at mile marker 75.  It was reported that a black 2014 Chevy truck, bearing AK plate GSU504 was weaving all over the road.  At approximately 84 mile of the Parks Hwy, AST patrol vehicle was southbound negotiating a curve and observed the REDDI vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane.  AST conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as James Braafladt, age 57, of Talkeetna.  Investigation revealed Braafladt was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and did not possess an operator’s license.  Braafladt was arrested for DUI, NVOL and transported to MSPT where he was released on his own recognizance.

    On 6/9/19, at 1400 hours, AST received a report of a stolen 2004 Volkswagon. The owner reported parking the Blue 4-door, license FTR544 at the Sacred Heard Catholic Church the previous evening unlocked and with the keys left in the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Troopers. Video surveillance from the church is being gathered to assist in identifying possible suspects.

    On 06/08/2019 at 0331 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to Vassar Circle in Fairbanks for a report of an intoxicated female not paying her cab fare.  Investigation determined Virginia Henry, age 59 from Fairbanks was refusing to pay her cab fare.  Henry was on Conditions of Release not to consume alcohol.  Henry also prevented AST from locating a person who was staying in the same residence who had an outstanding arrest warrant.  Henry was arrested for Theft 4th, VCOR, and Hindering 2nd.

    Type: Reckless Endangerment (DV) & Interfering with Reporting a DV Crime

    ON 06/08/2019 at 2309 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report alongside Sheep Creek Road.  Investigation determined Dylan Eilers, age 24 from Fairbanks grabbed the phone of his girlfriend while she was driving which almost caused her to drive off of the road.  Eilers continued to attempt to take the phone while she was calling for Troopers.  Eilers was arrested for Reckless Endangerment and Interfering with Reporting a Crime Involving Domestic Violence.  Eilers was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was held without bail.

    Type: VCOR, No Insurance, and Misuse of Plates (Felony)

    On 06/09/2019 at 0026 hours the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation near Airport Road and Washington.  The driver, Ginger Delgado, age 41 from Fairbanks admitted she did not have any insurance for the vehicle.  Delgado was on Conditions of Release to obey all laws.  Investigation also determined Delgado was using the incorrect license plates for the vehicle, after attempting to conceal the actual license plates in the vehicle which were expired.  Delgado was arrested for VCOR, No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance, and Felony Misuse of plates.  Delgado was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center where she was held without bail pending arraignment.

    On 6/8/19 at about 2110 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance in Tetlin.  Subsequently, Lelan Joe (25 yoa) of Tetlin was arrested for two accounts of assault in the fourth degree.  Lelan was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    Dispatch Text:

     On 6-6-19 at 2215 hours, the Soldotna AST K-9 Team responded to the intersection of Deck House Lane at S. Miller Loop Road to a report of a collision involving two vehicles. Upon arrival a driver of a grey 2014 Jeep Patriot was identified as Jessica Symonds, 29 YOA of Nikiski. Investigation revealed Symonds pulled out from Deck House Lane onto S. Miller Loop Road causing a collision. The other vehicle was identified as a red 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by Destiny A. Martin, 17 YOA of Nikiski. All parties including Symonds passenger, identified as her 3 year old child were transported to CPH for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. All occupants reported wearing seatbelts and airbags were not deployed. Jen-War Towing responded and took possession of the vehicles.

     On 6-8-19 at 1608 hours, the Soldotna AST K-9 Team responded to Mile 17.5 Kenai Spur Highway to a report of a driver operating a black 1977 Ford F-250 had collided into a parked unoccupied vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jamerson J. Carter (18) YOA of Nikiski. Investigation revealed Carter was driving under the influence. Carter was arrested for DUI and transported for processing. Carter was transported to Wildwood Pretrial where he was remanded on charges of DUI, MOCA, MCA and was released on his own recognizance.

     On 6-9-19 at 1948 hours, the Soldotna AST K-9 Team responded to Malaita Avenue near Mile 21 of the Kenai Spur Highway to a report of drug activity. David S. Hoeldt (39) YOA of Nikiski was contacted and arrested for Misconduct Involving Weapons 5th Degree. Scent detection K-9 Donna indicated on the vehicle for the presence of the odor of controlled substances. A Search Warrant was executed on the vehicle and Methamphetamine was located. The passenger in the vehicle identified as Kathy M. Carr, 35 YOA of Nikiski was issued a Misdemeanor citation for MICS-4. Hoeldt was arrested and transported to Wildwood Pretrial where he was remanded on charges of MIW-5 and MICS-4 and released on his own recognizance.

    On 6/4/19 at approximately 0820 hours the Alaska State Troopers received a report of stolen tools from a residence on Als Rd in Nikiski. The complainant reported that a Makita tool bag containing a Makita battery charger, Makita skilsaw with a red blade, and a Bosch belt sander were taken. Investigation is currently ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 907-262-4453.

    Dispatch Text:

    On June 9th, 2019 at approximately 1247 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted Karyn R. Cornett, age 22 of Nikiski and Justin C. Bachmeier, age 26 of Nikiski during a patrol of the Bernice Lake Campground, Nikiski. Both Cornett and Bachmeier had active warrants for their arrest. Cornett had an active arrest warrant for Burglary II and Theft II. Bachmeier had three active warrants. The first was for Failure to Comply with conditions of probation for the original charge of PTRP. The second was an arrest warrant for Burglary II and Theft. The third warrant was for Failure to Comply with the Conditions of Probation for the original charge of Theft IV. Further investigation revealed Bachmeier was in possession of a controlled substance. Bachmeier and Cornett were arrested for the warrants. Bachmeier was additionally charged with MICS IV. Both subjects were transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where they were remanded.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Dispatch Text:

    On 6/9/19, at approximately 1336 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, received a report that Jayce Hyatt, age 24, and Dylan Wiard, age 27, both of Juneau, had become lost while attempting to descend the face of Thunder Mountain.  The men reported that they were unable to descend or ascend due to the technical terrain.  Hyatt also reported that he had sustained an injured knee.  Juneau Mountain Rescue and the Capital City Fire/Rescue Rope Rescue Team was contacted and responded.  At approximately 2248 hours Hyatt and Wiard were safely escorted off of the mountain by Juneau Mountain Rescue. 

    The Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers would like to thank Juneau Mountain Rescue and Capital City Fire/Rescue for their assistance in this search and rescue.
