    On 07/10/2018 at about 1726 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Daniel Mann, age 27 of Ketchikan in the 800 Block of Buren Road.  Mann had an outstanding warrant reference PTRP PACE Program.  Mann was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.

    Location: Ketchikan
    Type: Plane Crash

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/10/2018 at approximately 0830 hours, Taquan Air pilot, Mike Hudgins, 72 of Ketchikan, reported that the plane had crashed at the 2000' level on a mountain near the West Arm of Cholmondeley Sound. It was reported that 11 souls, including the pilot, were onboard. The pilot reported no deaths but there were injuries. Hudgins was flying from Steamboat Bay on Prince of Wales Island to Ketchikan at the time of the crash. The NTSB, FAA, KVRS and Coast Guard were notified. The USCG sent two helicopters to participate in the rescue efforts. At approximately 1151 hours, the USCG reported to AST that it located the downed aircraft. All 11 people were rescued from the crash location and transported to a hospital in Ketchikan. At approximately 1424 hours, all victims and search and rescue personnel were out of the field.

    On 7/9/2018 at approximately 1601 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a trailer theft located near W Machen Rd., Wasilla.  Investigation revealed at approximately 0630 hours in the morning a gray 90’s model Chevrolet Yukon with a male driver and female passenger entered the parking lot and hooked up to the 2016 flatbed utility trailer bearing AK plate #9132AB that had a wooden box on it, then drove away.  The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact the Palmer Alaska State Troopers at 907-745-2131.

    Type: Theft / Criminal Mischief

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/10/2018 at approximately 0540 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft located near W Lone Duck Trail, Wasilla.  Investigation revealed a locked conex was broken into and approximately $10,000 worth of items was stolen.  Among other things there was a collection of knives that was stolen.  The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact the Palmer Alaska State Troopers at 907-745-2131.

    Location: Kenai
    Type: Vehicle Theft 1st / Theft 2nd x4 / Fraudulent Use of an Access Device x2

    Dispatch Text:

    UPDATE:  On 7/9/2018, investigation led to Alaska State Troopers arresting Alexander Yadao, age 23 of Hawaii, for Vehicle Theft 1st, Theft 2nd x4 and Fraudulent Use of an Access Device x2.  He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility and held with no bail pending arraignment.

    On 7/2/2018 at approximately 0621 hours, a vehicle theft was reported to Alaska State Troopers.  A green 2002 Ford Windstar van, Alaska license #FPA537, was reported from a residence off Kalifornsky Beach Road in Kenai sometime in the early morning hours.  Fraudulent transactions from a credit card left within were reported from various businesses in Kenai as well.  Anyone with information is asked to call Alaska State Troopers at 262-4453.

    On 7/9/18 at approximately 2321 hours, Soldotna AST responded to a disturbance at a business in the Sterling area.  During the subsequent investigation, McGerra Beck, age 35 of Sterling, was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest.  Beck was taken in to custody without incident and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility where she was held in lieu of $500 bail.  The warrant was for failing to appear for arraignments on original charges of DUI and two counts of MICS 4.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/10/18 at approximately 0001 hours, Soldotna AST arrested Ira Beck, age 34 of Sterling, for violating a domestic violence protective order.  Beck was taken in to custody without incident and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held without bail pending arraignment.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7-10-18 at 1649 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle collision near mile 100 Sterling Highway, near Soldotna.  Investigation revealed that Robert Bennett (51 YOA of Missouri) was eating while driving and started choking on his food.  Bennett lost control of the vehicle, a Subaru sedan and went into the ditch.  The vehicle sustained major damage.  Seatbelts were worn and no injuries were reported.

    On 7/10/18, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island cited Andrew Deering, age 52 of Craig, for one count of unlawfully retaining an undersized king salmon while commercial fishing.  Deering is scheduled to appear at arraignment in the Prince of Wales Court on 7/19/18.

    On 07/06/18 at approximately 1634, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Peter David, age 68 of Minto, while he was subsistence fishing on the Yukon River. Investigation revealed David failed to mark his set net as required while actively fishing for king salmon. David was issued a citation with bail set at $110 for the violation in the Fort Yukon District Court.

    On 07/06/18 at approximately 1239 hours, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Eric Bussdieker, age 56 of Two Rivers, while he was subsistence fishing near the Yukon River Bridge. Investigation revealed Bussdieker was fishing with a set net for five days without logging his finfish as required on his permit. Bussdieker was issued a citation with bail set at $110 in the Nenana District Court for the violation.

    Type: Subsistence fish with oversize mesh net

    On 07/06/18 at approximately 1740 hours a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Rosemary Wiehl, age 56 of Rampart, while she was subsistence fishing for king salmon. Investigation revealed Wiehl was utilizing a subsistence net with 7 1/2" mesh where the limit was 6" mesh or smaller. Wiehl was issued a summons for the violation in the Fort Yukon District Court with an arraignment date of 08/23/18 at 1300 hours.

    On 07/08/2018, Andrew Meehan, 34 YOA of Florida, was cited by Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, for two counts of failing to immediately log king salmon on a 2018 sport fishing  license. Meehan was cited after he was contacted by National Marine fisheries while fishing near Ketchikan. Investigation revealed while employed as a sport-fishing guide, he failed to immediately log two king salmon landing for his clients.  Bail is set at $110 each.
