    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/11/18, at about 1225 hours, Juneau based Alaska State Troopers contacted 28 year old Michael David Friedrichs of Juneau on Lemon Creek Road.  Friedrichs was arrested on an outstanding felony PACE warrant and transported to LCCC where he was remanded.  Bail was set at $20,000.

    On 7/11/18, at about 1005 hours, Juneau based Alaska State Troopers contacted a 17 year old juvenile male at a Willoughby Street apartment.  The 17 year old was arrested on an outstanding Sexual Abuse of a Minor 2 warrant and remanded to the Johnson Youth Center.

    On 07/11/18, at approximately 0358 hours, the Alaska State Troopers stopped a vehicle on E Schrock Rd and E Grizzly Dr in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Joshua Lawrence, age 19, of Wasilla, was operating his vehicle under the influence of Alcohol. He was arrested for DUI, minor operating and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was later released on his own recognizance.

    On 7/10/2018, approximately 2025 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Burma Road near Big Lake for a reported burglary.  Investigation revealed unknown person(s) forced entry into the residence, stealing approximately $3000 in personal items, including one firearm.  Anyone with any information regarding this ongoing investigation is asked to please call either the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 373-8300 or Crime Stoppers at (907) 745-3333.

    On 7/10/2018, approximately 1725 hours, Alaska State Troops responded to the area of Kathilyn Road and Carmel Road near Knik Goose Bay Road for a report of mail boxes being broken into.  Investigation revealed unknown person(s) broke into several mailboxes in the area, scattering mail along both Carmel and Kathilyn street.  Anyone with any information regarding this ongoing investigation is asked to call either the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 373-8300 or Crime Stoppers at (907) 745-3333.

    Dispatch Text:

    On  6/12/18 at 0800 hours The Alaska State Troopers received a report of an assault in Teller.  An investigation showed that Swenson Tocktoo, 26 of Teller, assaulted another adult male in Tocktoo's residence.  Tocktoo attempted to clean the scene prior to AST's arrival.  The victim's injuries required him to be medevac'd to Anchorage for treatment.  The investigation is ongoing.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7-10-18 at about 2000 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of shots fired inside a residence in Unalakleet.  An investigation showed that Edward Katchatag, 45, of Unalakleet was intoxicated and fired a bolt action rifle, one round struck an adult male's arm.  Katchatag was taken into custody following a 10 hour standoff with troopers. Alcohol is involved in this incident.

    On 6-24-18, the Bethel Violent Offenders Unit (VOU) began an investigation into a report of sexual abuse of minor incident in the village of Mountain Village.  The investigation resulted in the arrest of Charles Andrews 51 yoa of Mountain Village in Bethel on a $25,000.00 arrest warrant. He was arrested on 7-10-18 and booked into YKCC.  Charles was charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse of Minor in the First Degree (Unclassified felonies), Incest (C felony), Sexual Assault in the First Degree (Unclassified felony), two counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree (B felonies), one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree (B felony) and Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor in a Dry Village (C felony).  These counts are all domestic violence related.

    Dispatch Text:

    UPDATE: Investigation determined that a 2013 Toyota Sienna crossed the centerline and collided with a 2014 Peterbilt tractor with double fuel tankers. Both occupants of the Toyota are deceased. They are Tristan Carey, age 21, of Fairbanks, and Rachel Weter, age 21, of Huslia. Next of Kin have been notified. The driver of the Peterbilt was transported from the scene with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation continues.

    ORIGINAL RELEASE: On July 11, 2018 at 1103 hours AST received a report of a commercial vehicle on fire at mile 210 Parks Hwy, and subsequently received more calls stating there was a vehicle collision. Troopers and EMS responded. Preliminary investigation determined that a commercial vehicle and minivan collided on the Parks Highway. Two fatalities have been confirmed; next of kin have not been notified. The road has been blocked, and Troopers have re-routed traffic off the highway for both northbound and southbound traffic. Troopers, commercial vehicle enforcement officers, and EMS are on scene. Investigation is ongoing.

    On July 10th, 2018 at approximately 2124 hours, the Alaska State Troopers traffic stopped a green 2001 Mitsubishi Montero for a moving violation near a local business in Kenai. Investigation revealed a passenger of the vehicle, Daniel K. Rankin, age 39 of Sterling, had two active misdemeanor arrest warrants. The first was for FTA for arraignment for the original charges of MICS IV X2. The second was an arrest warrant for Theft IV. Rankin was arrested for the active warrants and remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held on $500.00 bail.

    On May 11th, 2018 at approximately 0259 hours, the Alaska State Troopers traffic stopped a white 2010 Ford F350 for an equipment violation on Vonda Street, Soldotna. Investigation revealed Garrett C. Tikka, age 25 of Soldotna, was operating his vehicle while impaired by alcohol. Tikka was arrested for DUI and remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where he was held on $1000.00 bail.

    On 7-11-18, 40 y/o Jesse Grady of Takotna, AK pled GUILTY in Aniak District Court to the charge of trapping marten during the closed season. Grady was fined $300 and ordered to forfeit twenty longspring traps and two frozen marten seized during the investigation. The charge resulted after AWT on snow machine patrol between McGrath and Ruby located 18 marten traps still set and two frozen marten hanging in traps one month after the marten season had closed.

    On 7/6/18, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, contacted Kyle Dierick, age 29 of Yakutat, in Yakutat Bay near Knight Island.  Investigation revealed that Dierick was operating several subsistence shrimp pots that were not marked as required, and at least 1 pot had no biological escape mechanism.  Dierick was issued 2 $110.00 citations for failing to properly mark his subsistence shrimp gear, and 1 $110.00 citation for no bio.  All citations were issued in the District Court at Yakutat.

    On 7/08/2018 at approximately 0940 hours, Kodiak AWT issued a citation to August Pedersen, age 63 of Chignik Lagoon, for failing to have a PFD available for each person onboard his power vessel.  Pedersen was contacted with a total of five people onboard the vessel, but only one PFD.  Bail was set at $250.

    Update:

    On 7-11-18, 36 Y/O Everett S. Peter of Marshall, AK pled GUILTY in Aniak District Court to the charge of operating a subsistence drift gillnet with oversized mesh. Peter was fined $500, and the 17 Chinook Salmon he caught using the oversized net were forfeited. The charge resulted after AWT Troopers on aircraft patrol contacted Everett operating a fifty fathom subsistence drift gillnet with 7.5 inch mesh during a fishing period restricted to the use of 6 inch or less mesh in the interest of Chinook conservation.

    On 6/24/18 at 2250 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers based in McGrath and Aniak charged 36 y/o Everett Peter of Marshall with operating a drift gillnet with oversized mesh. During an aircraft patrol in Yukon District Y-2, troopers contacted Peter as he operated a drift gillnet near a fish camp outside the village of Marshall. The investigation showed Peter was operating a 50 fathom drift gillnet with 7.5" mesh while the fishery was restricted to subsistence fishing with 6” or less mesh. The mesh restriction was in the interest of Chinook Salmon conservation. 17 female Chinook Salmon were seized. Peter will be arraigned at Aniak Court on 7/11/18.

    On July 9th, 2018 the Southcentral Area Narcotics (SCAN) team in Soldotna, a member of the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit, began an investigation into a suspicious package being sent to an individual in Kenai from California.  On July 10th, as a result of the investigation, Douglas A. Rossi, age 52 of Texas, was arrested for attempted Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, and attempted Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree.  Rossi was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.  (LDR0)
