AK17046552Location: AngoonType: Driving Under the Influence
On 07/09/2017 at about 2240 hours, Juneau based Alaska State Troopers received a report of a vehicle that off of the roadway in Angoon. A State Trooper and Village Public Safety Officer responded and contacted the driver, Alan Zuboff, age 58 of Angoon. Alan was observed to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Alan was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence. He was issued an Alaska Uniform Citation and released with a future arraignment date.

AK17047078Location: EkwokType: Assault 3rd / 2 x Vehicle Theft / Criminal Trespass 2nd
On July 11th, 2017 at approximately 1532 hours, the Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a report from a complainant in Ekwok regarding a stolen skiff. Subsequent investigation resulted the arrest of Letia Griffitts, age 54 of Anchorage, for one count of Assault in the 3rd Degree, two counts of Vehicle Theft in the 1st Degree, and one count of Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree. Letia was transported to the VPSO Office in New Stuyahok for holding, then later transported to the Dillingham Jail for remand.

AK17047371Location: FairbanksType: Theft
On 07/12/2017 the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks took a report of a copper theft from a scrap metal recycler on the Richardson Highway. 3 spools of copper worth approximately $50,000 were taken sometime after Saturday 07/08/2017. The copper was removed from the spools. Anybody with information about the thefts is asked to contact AST at 907-451-5100.

AK17047066Location: Turnagain PassType: Vehicle Theft
On 7-11-2017 the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a stolen vehicle in the Turnagain Pass area. Investigation revealed a 1998 Volvo sedan had broken down near mile 68 Seward Highway. The vehicle was taken from the area when the owner came back on the morning of 7-11-17 to recover the vehicle it was gone. Anyone with information is asked to call the Alaska State Troopers at 262-4453.

On 7/11/2017, AWT in Bristol Bay arrested Craig W. Chernikoff, 51 yoa, of Egegik, Alaska, on a no bail arrest warrant. Chernikoff was commercial fishing in the Egegik District of Bristol Bay. He was remanded in Naknek, Alaska.
