    Location: Ketchikan
    Type: Fail to Stop at Direction of Peace Officer 1st Degree, Reckless Driving

    Dispatch Text:

    On 07/05/2019 at about 2250 hours, the Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a small dirt bike traveling northbound on the South Tongass Highway with no headlights or taillights in dark area of mile 2 of the South Tongass Highway.  The driver of the dirt bike refused to pull over and continued traveling at a slow speed through the city for about three miles and was observed not stopping at stop signs and at times traveling down the opposite lane of travel.  AST discontinued stopping the vehicle due to safety reasons but located the dirt bike shortly later at the end of Front Street on the dock.  The driver Lamont Singleton, age 23 of Ketchikan was found hiding behind a large mooring anchor on the dock.  Singleton was arrested for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer in the 1st Degree, and Reckless Driving.  Singleton was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.  AST for like to thank Ketchikan Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.

    Type: Reckless Driving

    Dispatch Text:

    On 07/05/2019, at approximately 2111 hours, the Alaska State Troopers observed a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations and driving at a high rate of speed on Hollywood Road. Troopers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Christopher rock (age 23 of Palmer). Rock was given a misdemeanor citation for reckless driving with instructions to appear in court at a later date. Rock was released from the scene.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 07/06/2019, at about 2042 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a deceased person on Hollywood Rd, in Big Lake. The investigation revealed Dennis McKenzie age 71, of Big Lake had been found deceased by a family member.  There were no signs of foul play. Next of Kin notifications were made in Big Lake and the body was released to the family.

    Type: Warrant Arrest, MIW 3rd x2, Theft 2nd x5

    Dispatch Text:

    On 07/06/2019 at 1400 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted a vehicle that was blocking traffic on Sylvan Lane. Investigation revealed, Jason Campbell age 40, of Wasilla was a passenger in the vehicle and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, original charge Evidence Tampering. Additionally, Campbell was found in possession of five credit cards that were not his and also in possession of a shotgun with a short barrel that had been cut off. Campbell was arrested for his warrant, five counts of Theft in the 2nd, and two counts of Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the 3rd. Campbell was transported and remanded at Mat-Su pretrial where he is held without bail.

    Type: DWLR/ Probation Violation

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/5/19, at 1722 hours, AST Dispatch was notified of a REDDI that was observed at MP 301 of the Parks Hwy.  A Healy based Trooper made contact with the REDDI vehicle at MP 284 of the Parks Hwy.  Investigation determined Jay Nelson age 53 of Fox was operating a motor vehicle while his drivers license was revoked.  A check of APSIN revealed Nelson's drivers license was revoked for felony DUI with multiple extending revocations until 5/25/2096.  Fairbanks Probation was notified of this incident.  Nelson was arrested and transported to Nenana Post.  Nelson's  was transported to FCC by the Nenana VPSO, where he was remanded on no bail for DWLR and Probation Violations.

    Type: Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Warrant Arrest

    On 7/5/2019, at approximately 2217 hours, Fairbanks AST attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Minnie St. in Fairbanks. Troopers located a stolen 1991 Chevrolet Caprice during the investigation. While Troopers were on scene, they contacted Elizabeth Schwietert, age 21 of Fairbanks. Investigation revealed that Elizabeth had an outstanding Fairbanks AST warrant for her arrest. Elizabeth was placed under arrest and remanded to FCC with bail set at $250. The stolen vehicle was released to the Fairbanks Police Department.

    Dispatch Text:

    On July 6, 2019 at approximately 2100 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a 16 YOA juvenile suffering a medical emergency at the peak of Flat Top Mountain in Anchorage. LifeMed launched with a helicopter and responded to the area. Upon arrival, the juvenile was picked up and transported to Providence Alaska Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 6/12/19 at 1806 hours Anchor Point AST received a report of an endangered adult that had been missing for over two hours in the Ninilchik area. A 78 year old woman who suffers from dementia and had walked away from her home into the woods. Ninilchik EMS, neighbors and other volunteers conducted a ground search of the surrounding area. AST Helo 3 was dispatched from Anchorage to assist in the search. At approximately 2200 hours volunteers located the missing woman who was uninjured and in good health.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/6/19 at 1914 hours Anchor Point AST received an initial report of a small aircraft crash near the town of Seldovia. No injuries were reported and all passengers were accounted for at the time of call. Local law enforcement was contacted after discovering the incident location to be in close proximity to Seldovia airport. The NTSB was notified. All involved parties are safe and out of the field.

    On July 04, 2019, at approximately 10:00 am, Alaska Wildlife Troopers based out of Cordova contacted 27 year old Palmer Resident Kyle F. BLOMQUIST after he set out shrimp pots in Esther Passage. Subsequent investigation resulted in Kyle being issued a citation for failure to have a 2019 Prince William Sound Shrimp Permit in possession. Bail is set at $120.

    On July 04, 2019, at approximately 10:36 am, Alaska Wildlife Troopers based out of Cordova contacted 31 year old Palmer residents Travis J. BARIL and Chelsae E. PADUAN while they were engaged in sport fishing at Esther Passage. Subsequent investigation revealed they did not have their valid 2019 Sport Fish Licenses in possession. They were each issued a correctable citation and have 30 days to show proof they had a valid license at the time of contact, otherwise, bail is set at $220 each.

    On 07/01/2019 Gabrielle G. Whiting, 26 years old, of Marysville, WA was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers during the Bristol Bay Salmon Program for commercial fishing in closed waters in the Nushagak District. Arraignment is scheduled in Dillingham District Court on July 15, 2019.
