    On 7/9/2019 at approximately 1700 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted 42 year old Mitchel H. Carle of Hydaburg at a location near mile 11 of the Hollis - Klawock Highway.  Carle was wanted on a outstanding $5,000.00 warrant for failure to serve jail time.  Carle was arrested without incident and was remanded at the Craig jail on the warrant.

    On 07/09/2019 at about 2117 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Rosie Chesterton, age 28 of Ketchikan in the 1700 Block of South Tongass Highway.  The original charge was VCOR.  Chesterton was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $1,000.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7-8-19 at 1213 hours, Alaska State Trooper Dispatch received a report of a theft from a new build home construction on Sandra J Circle in Palmer. Troopers responded to investigate. Investigation reveals someone entered the framed in construction of the new house over the Independence Day weekend and stole a nail gun, a turbo floor fan and a socket/ ratchet set. Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to call State Trooper dispatch at 352-5401.

    On 07/08/2019 at 1221 hours, Alaska State Troopers dispatch received the report of a theft of license plate and hitch receiver near the Matanuska Bridge on the Old Glenn Hwy. Investigation reveals an individual parked a white van on the side of the road near the Matanuska Bridge sometime shortly before Independence Day over night. When they returned they found their license plate and ball hitch had been stolen. There are no suspects or leads at this time.

    On 07/08/2019 at 1408 hours, Alaska State Trooper Dispatch received a report of a theft of a raft from a yard on Grizzly Bear Dr. Investigation reveals someone entered a yard on Grizzly Bear Dr and stole an orange single person kayak. The suspect was observed on security footage. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call Trooper dispatch at 352-5401.

    On 07/09/2019 at 1037 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI report of a white Ford pickup for moving violations. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near Mile 50 of the Parks Hwy. Investigation reveals Jerald Coghill, age 38 of Wasilla, was Driving While License Suspended (DWLS) and had an active warrant for his arrest out of Fairbanks for Failure to Appear. Coghill was arrested on the warrant and was given a court date for DWLS. He was transported and remanded to Mat Su Pretrial.

    On 07/08/2019 at approximately 1859 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge pickup traveling 15 mph in a posted 55 mph zone.  Investigation revealed the driver, Ben Nicolie, age 61 of Mentasta was operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol.    Nicolie was arrested for DUI and transported to Glennallen post for processing and release on his own recognizance.

    Type: Sexual Assault 2, Sexual Assault 3, Indecent Viewing/Photography x 3, VCOR

    Dispatch Text:

    On 7/4/2019 at about 2335 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of indecent photos posted to social media by an individual from the village of Toksook Bay. Investigation revealed probable cause to believe twenty-one year-old Jared Rickteroff committed the crimes of Sexual Assault 2, Sexual Assault 3, Indecent Viewing/Photography, and Violating Conditions of Release. Troopers obtained an arrest warrant in the amount of $20,000.00 for Jared's arrest. On 7/9/2019, troopers took Jared into custody with the help of Toksook Bay tribal police officers and remanded him to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.

    On 7/8/2019 at approximately 1926 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of an individual who was swimming in the Moose River and disappeared under water. Central Emergency Services, US Fish and Wildlife and Good Samaritans launched boats and searched the area in an attempt to locate Yanting Jin age 18 from China. Nikiski Fire Department arrived on scene with a specialized dive team and located Yanting Jin deceased in the Moose River. Next of Kin was notified. No foul play is suspected. Alaska State Troopers would like to thank the professional and timely response of all the agencies involved, good Samaritans and Trustworthy Hardware for donating equipment. Alaska State Troopers are encouraging anyone this summer who is recreating on or near the water to wear personal flotation devices.

    On 7/9/19 at approximately 1149 hours, AST received a report of a disturbance at a residence in Soldotna.  AST responded and investigation revealed Oliver Chapman, 61 of Soldotna, assaulted his significant other and also damaged items in the residence.  Chapman left prior to AST arrival and was unable to be located.  An arrest warrant has been requested through the Kenai Court.

    On June 30, 2019, Lance Gray, 50 years old from Chinook, Washington was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers during the Bristol Bay Salmon Program for Commercial Fish Closed Waters in the Naknek Kvichak District.  Arraignment is schedule in Naknek District Court on July 17, 2019.

    On 7/7/19 Alaska Wildlife Troopers Sitka Post, contacted Blake A. Tucker, age 57 of Washington, Christopher Meredith, age 28 of Michigan, and Marque A. Pounds, age 33 of Washington sportfishing near Fortuna Strait.  All three men were cited for sportfishing without licenses.  Pounds was additionally cited for fishing more than one line.  Bail is set at $220 for the license violations, and $120 for sportfishing more than one line.

    On 7/6/19 Alaska Wildlife Troopers Sitka Post, monitored offloads of troll fish at a fish buyer near Pelican.  Following the offload from the F/V Nordic Freedom, two under-size king salmon were located remaining in the hold of the vessel.  Andrew Montgomery age 41, of Oregon, was cited for retaining under-size king salmon.  The fish were seized.  An arraignment is set in the District Court at Sitka.

    Type: Take Overlimit King Salmon x5, No Sport Fish License x3

    On 7/5/19 Alaska Wildlife Troopers Sitka Post, were on patrol in Bear Cove and were notified of a vessel suspected by witnesses of taking over limits of king salmon.  Troopers subsequently contacted the vessel leaving the area.  Investigation revealed the five people on the vessel had taken over the limit of one King Salmon.  Leonard C. Watts age 50, Richard L. Williams age 62, Karen G. Williams age 46, Raycen A. Raines age 43, and Heather D. Thompson age 47, all of Sitka were cited for two king salmon over limit.  Bail was set at $420 each for the over limit violations.  Additionally, Watts, K. Williams, and Raines did not have sport fishing licenses and were cited.  Bail was set at $220 each for the sport fish violations.

    On July 8, 2019, Alex Savo, 28 years old from Eagle River, Alaska was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers during the Bristol Bay Salmon Program for Commercial Set Gillnet Over-length in the Naknek Section.  Arraignment is scheduled in Naknek District Court on July 17, 2019.  He was also cited for; Set Gillnet CFEC Number Not Marked, with a bail of $260, No Photo ID as Permit Holder, with a bail of $310 and Employ Unlicensed Crew with a bail of $260, in the Naknek Section. 

    Megan Trevino, 23 years old from Poulsbo, Washington was cited for Crewmember Licensed Required with a bail of $260 in the Naknek Section.

Arraignment is scheduled in Dillingham District Court on July 16, 2019.
