    Dispatch Text:

    On August 20th, 2018 Alaska State Troopers contacted 46 year old Gary T. Baldwin of Virginia for a traffic offense near Mud Bay Road in Ketchikan. Baldwin was subsequently issued a citation for Open Container of Alcohol and placed under arrest for DUI. Baldwin was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center without incident.

    Location: Hydaburg
    Type: AIV x 4/Interfere With Report of a DV

    Dispatch Text:

    On August 19, 2018 at about 11:05PM, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales island received a report of an assault in Hydaburg.  Investigation revealed 34 year Hydaburg resident Delbert Peratrovich had assaulted two family members and interfered with one family member while they were trying to report the incident to law enforcement.  Delbert was arrested and transported to Craig Police Department where he was remanded on four counts of Assault IV DV, and Interfering With the Report of a Domestic Violence Crime.  One of the family members was later air lifted off the island due to their injuries.  Investigation is still on going at this time.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/19/2018 at approximately 2209 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Chrysler Pacifica on the Old Glenn Highway and Knik River Road for a moving violation.  Investigation revealed the driver, Joshua Robinson, age 38 of Palmer was operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol.  Robinson was arrested and charged with DUI and remanded to Matsu Pretrial where he was released on his own recognizance.

    Type: Warrant Arrest

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/19/2018 at approximately 2312 hours, Alaska State Troopers were at a residence off of Highland Drive investigating a disturbance.  While there, Troopers located Megan Unger, age 26 of Houston hiding in the boiler room.  Unger had a $250 warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on the original charge of Theft 3rd.  Unger was arrested without incident and transported to Matsu Pretrial where she was remanded on her warrant.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 8/19/18 at approximately 2130 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a black Honda Civic near the intersection of PWH and the Parks Hwy for an equipment violation.  Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle, Brian Bates age 40 of Wasilla was Driving with a Revoked License for a DUI.  Further investigation revealed the passenger, Crystal Churchill age 32 of Wasilla, had two outstanding warrants for her arrest.  The first for violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order and the second for Larceny.  Bates was issued a criminal summons for DWLR.  Churchill was arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded into custody with bail set at $100.

    On 8/19/18 at approximately 2130 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Dean Drive in Wasilla and contacted Edward Wooley, age 50 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Wooley had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on the original charge of Robbery II. Wooley was arrested for his warrant and to MSPT for remand where he was held without bail.

    On 8/20/2018 at approximately 0127 hours, AST responded to a residence on E. Rabbit Circle in Wasilla for a report of two family members fighting. An investigation revealed Michael James Rexford, 20 YOA of Wasilla, was intoxicated and assaulted a family member. EMS attempted to check Michael over for minor injuries. Michael became hostile towards AST and EMS when contacted. Michael was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Bail was set at $25 unsecured cash appearance.

    On 08/19/2018 at 1344 hours, AST dispatch received a report of a vehicle that was broken into at the Matanuska Peak Trail head in Palmer. Investigation reveals the vehicle was left at the trail head on 08/18/2018 at approximately 1330 hours and when the owner returned around 2230 hours to find someone shattered a rear window and took a back pack. The backpack and it's belongings which included clothing were valued around $400. Anyone with information regarding this theft is asked to contact Alaska State Troopers or Crime stoppers.

    On August 19th, 2018 at approximately 0330 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were contacted regarding a couple fishermen who were stranded on an island in Aleknagik Lake. They had gotten caught in a sudden wind storm which caused their boat to take on water, and for them to seek the nearest shore. Dillingham AST and AWT responded and were successful in rescuing the two fishermen. There were no injuries or medical concerns reported.

    Location: Tuntutuliak
    Type: Boating Fatalities

    Dispatch Text:

    On 8/19/2018, at about 1145 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Bethel were notified that a human body was discovered on the bank of the Kuskokwim River tree miles upriver from the mouth of the Tuntutuliak River.  As troopers were preparing to fly to Tuntutuliak to investigate Tribal Police Officers reported two more bodies had been found along the riverbank.  The deceased were identified as Peter Joseph Jr., age 50, Jennifer Joseph, age 43 and Nettie Evan, age 44; all three were from the Village of Tuntutuliak.  The bodies were recovered and have been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office.  The next of kin for all three were notified. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this accident.   


    Investigation revealed that on 8/18/2018, at about 1330 hours, a family member spoke to Jennifer Joseph by phone and the Josephs and Evan were on the Kuskokwim River between Napaskiak and Napakiak heading to Tuntutuliak by boat.  On 8/18/2018, at about 1800 hours, the Joseph's boat was seen by a passing boater stuck on a sandbar on the Kuskokwim River. The boat was unoccupied and the passing boater was unable to get to the boat due to low water in the area. The boat was later dislodged by the tides.  On 8/20/2018 the Joseph's boat was located at Eek Island.

    On 8/17/18 at approximately 0012 hours, Mountain Village Tribal Police officers received a report that John Moses II, age 21 of Mountain Village had pointed a shotgun at three people. Investigation revealed Moses was intoxicated and took off fleeing from the Police.  After a brief pursuit Moses was taken into custody.  Moses was subsequently charged with charged with four counts of Assault 3, Coercion, DUI, Reckless Driving, Misconduct Involving Weapons 4th, and Resisting Arrest.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 8/19/18 at approximately 0436 hours, John Andrey, age 37 of Anchorage, called the Alaska State Troopers and reported he was floating downriver near Aniak, AK.  John was attempting to cross Aniak Slough when his boat capsized.  John reported he was able to hold onto the overturned boat and call for help, but was cold and drifting downriver in the slough away from Aniak.  Aniak Troopers were off duty and notified of the search and rescue.  Aniak Troopers launched a state boat and began searching for John in the dark.  John was located at approximately 0535 hours and was transported to the Aniak Clinic for treatment of hypothermia.  He suffered no other significant injuries. John was not wearing a life jacket.

    On 08/20/18 at approximately 0935 hours, Emmonak AST received a call about a DV assault. Investigation revealed David Tom, 32 yoa of Emmonak, placed his girlfriend and two small children in fear of being assaulted. Mr. Tom left the scene prior to AST arrival. A warrant has been requested for Mr. Tom.

    On 08/19/18 at approximately 1835 hours Tok AST contacted 69 year old Northway resident, Walter Mark in the parking lot of Three Bears Grocery store. Mark was placed under arrest for trespassing, as he is trespassed from the grocery store for harassing customers. Mark was held at Tok jail until arraignments.

    On 08/19/18 at approximately 1853 hours, Tok AST contacted 27 year old Fairbanks resident, David Kendrick at the Three Bears Grocery store. Subsequent investigation revealed Kendrick to have an active $250 warrant out of Fairbanks for theft 4. Kendrick was placed under arrest and held at Tok jail until arraignment.

    On 08/18/18 at approximately 1812 hours, Tok AST contacted 27 year old Tok resident, Andrew David in the parking lot of Three Bears Grocery store. David was placed under arrest for criminal trespass 2 as he is trespassed from the grocery store for harassing customers. David was later released O/R and placed on conditions of release. David will have a future arraignment date for criminal trespass 2.

    On 08/19/2018 at about 2052 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Tok were flagged down by two individuals who reported an older female pointed a gun at them from a pickup truck. AST located the pickup truck and the driver was identified as Kathleen Krohn, 65YOA of Tok. Investigation revealed Kathleen pointed a loaded handgun at two subjects. Kathleen was arrested for Assault in the Third Degree x2. Kathleen was transported to Tok Trooper Post where she will be housed until arraignments.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 8/19/2018 at about  2226 hours, Fairbanks AST responded to a Motor Vehicle Crash in which the driver had been ejected on Farmers Loop, just east of McGrath Rd. EMS arrived on scene and conducted CPR the driver until he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by paramedics at 2256 hours . The driver and sole occupant was identified as  Brynnon Bennett, 37 of Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Bennett was driving a 1991 Chevrolet Astro Van at a high rate of speed west on Farmers Loop Rd. He lost control of the van while negotiating a left hand curve. The vehicle flipped twice and came to rest against a tree. Bennett was ejected during the wreck and died on scene. Bennett was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol is believed to be a factor. The SME’s Office has requested the body of Bennett to be sent to Anchorage. Next of kin has been notified. Investigation to continue.

    Location: Cape Cross (Yakobi Island)

    Dispatch Text:

    On 8/18/18, at approximately 1923 hours, the United States Coast Guard received a report from a fishing vessel in the vicinity of Cape Cross on Yakobi Island that they had located the body of a deceased adult male floating in the water approximately 1 nautical mile offshore.  Alaska Wildlife Troopers from Juneau Post onboard the P/V Sentry were in the area on a routine fisheries patrol and responded to investigate and recover the body.  Initial investigation revealed that the body is that of an older white male.  Initial identification was unable to be made at that time.   The body was recovered, transported back to Juneau and later transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage for an autopsy and identification.  The investigation is ongoing and the Alaska Wildlife Troopers would like to thank the fishermen in the area who offered their assistance.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers in Juneau at 907-465-4000.

    On 08/18/18 at approximately 2017hours, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted William Supplee during a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed Supplee had been operating a sport fishing guide business and failed to submit his logbook to ADF&G as required. Supplee was issued a citation with bail set at $210 in the Fairbanks District Court for the violation.
