Suspect(s) caused damage to a door but were unsuccessful with entering the building. The attempted break-in was captured on surveillance video recordings.  At 0433 hours AST responded to a burglary alarm at Chena Hot Springs Gas Station.  The same vehicle was involved and video showed a male suspect attempting to force entry into the store by breaking the glass on the front door.  The attempted intrusion was unsuccessful and the suspect departed the area in the same red 1989 GMC PK.  Within an hour AST received reports of burglary alarms at the Oaken Keg on College Road and Justa Store on Chena Pump Road.  AST broadcast the information and description of the suspect's vehicle to all local law enforcement.  At 0505 hours Fairbanks Police Department (FPD) patrol saw the vehicle on Van Horn Road near Gold Star Liquor and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The driver led police on a pursuit in the Fairbanks area. The pursuit was eventually terminated due to public safety concerns. AST patrol located the unoccupied suspect vehicle near a Kennicott Avenue address in Fairbanks. The driver's side door was open and the engine was still running. AST and FPD converged on the area and used an AST K9 to assist with the locating suspects.  Two women were located hiding in a shed nearby. The women were present during the attempted burglaries.  Kia R. Ned (28 yoa) and Tessa L. Peter (21 yoa) were arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree for trespassing on the property where they were located.  The red GMC was found to be a stolen vehicle and the male suspect has been identified. AST and FPD were unable to locate the male suspect. This case is still under investigation and once all evidence is evaluated suspect(s) will be charged with crimes related to the string of attempted burglaries and an update press release will be posted.
