    On 8/8/18, at 1329 hours, Victoria Shorty, age 28 of Juneau, was arrested at her residence on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on the original charge of DUI.  Shorty was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center on $250 bail.

    Type: Theft III

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/09/2018 at approximately 1431 hours, AST received a report of a theft from a residence on Bearpaw in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Nancy Tolson, age 50 of Wasilla, stole approximately $500 in jewelry from a roommate and sold it to a pawn shop. Tolson was issued a misdemeanor summons for Theft III and released.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/09/2018 at approximately 1200 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a theft from a store in Big Lake. Investigation revealed 61 YOA Johannes Kleinberg of Big Lake stole a 12 pack of Heineken beer and two pack of cigarettes from the store. Charges are being forwarded to the Palmer DA.

    On 08/09/2018 at approximately 1504 hours, AST received a theft report of a  personal water craft from a residence off of Big Lake Rd in Big Lake.  Investigation revealed someone stole the 1992 white and purple Sea-Doo watercraft from the dock behind the residence sometime between Sunday 8/5/2018 and today.  Investigation is continuing.

    Type: Forgery 1st degree, Theft 3rd degree

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/09/2018 at approximately 1111 hours, AST received a report of mail theft of a check from a mailbox located in the area of Karen St and Pittman Rd in Wasilla. Investigation revealed someone stole a check from the mailbox, changed the dollar amount and payee information.  The check was cashed at a local bank in the area.  Further investigation revealed the suspect Stephanie Reem, age 34 of Wasilla was listed as the payee on the check along with her Alaska license number.  The check initial dollar amount was for $115.00 but had been altered for $415.00.  Investigation is continuing.

    Type: Motor Vehicle Accident with injuries

    On 08/08/2018 at about 2001 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a single vehicle accident West Hammer Drive in Wasilla.  Investigation revealed Terry Mattson, age 59, of Wasilla, was driving southbound on Hammer Drive when Terry lost control of his 2012 Yamaha resulting in the ATV rolling and coming to rest on top of him. Terry was transported by EMS for injuries sustained in the collision. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor and the investigation is ongoing. Terry was not wearing a helmet.

    On 8/8/2018 at approx. 2250hrs. Brent Beiler, age 48 of Wasilla was involved in a motor vehicle accident in a gravel pit near the intersection of the Palmer Wasilla Highway and Seward Meridian. Beiler was transported to the MatSu Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. It is believed that alcohol is a factor. Investigation continued by AST

    Dispatch Text:

    On 8/9/18 at approximately 0009 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance located on Wolf Creek Drive, in Palmer. Investigation determined Tina Alekseyenko, age 35 of Palmer, recklessly caused physical injury to a household member during an altercation. Alekseyenko was subsequently arrested for Assault 4th degree and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was held pending arraignment.

    On 08/09/2018 at approximately 0642 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Beverly Lakes for a report of a Burglary. Investigation revealed 18 YOA Devin Beranger and 14 YOA J.B., both of Wasilla, unlawfully entered a residence and stole items from the garage. After a through investigation, items have been returned to the victim and charges are being forwarded to the Palmer DA and Palmer Juvenile Justice.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/09/18 approximately 0830 hrs., State Troopers in Togiak received information of an assault, reported to have occurred on 08/08/18 approximately 2100 hrs.  Investigation revealed that Jason A. Doiel, age 27, of Togiak had assaulted a family member.  Doiel was arrested on the charge of Assault IV-DV and remanded to the Togiak Jail, with no bail until after arraignment.

    On 8/8/2018 at approximately 1916 hours, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a violation of a DVPO in the village of Tuluksak.  Investigation revealed William Peter (age 34 of Tuluksak) had violated a domestic violence protective order by being at a residence he was ordered to stay away from.  William was arrested for the charge and remanded to YKCC in Bethel.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/07/2018 at 0927 hours, Troopers received a report of a vehicle on the beach at Deep Creek that was threatened by the rising tide.  An investigation showed the vehicle had been stolen from a residence in Ninilchik sometime during the night and abandoned on the beach.  The owner responded and recovered the vehicle.  The investigation is ongoing.

    On 08/07/2018 at 1122 hours, Troopers received a report of a chainsaw which had been stolen from a shed over the winter.  An investigation showed the chainsaw had been stolen from the shed which was located on Walter Thomas Ave in Homer while the owner was out of state.

    On 8/7/18 at 1450 hours, Troopers received a report of a stolen vehicle from the Anchor Point Area.  David Amole, 33 of Anchor Point, reported his vehicle had been stolen from a local church parking lot sometime during the previous two weeks.  The investigation is on going.

    On 08/08/18 at 2038 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a deceased person at a residence in Hope, AK. The death investigation determined William Davidson (age 72 of Hope, AK) passed away due to natural causes. Davidson’s next of kin are on scene. The investigation did not reveal any suspicious circumstances.

    On 7/14/18, Tok Wildlife Troopers cited Larry Nathaniel, age 75, of Circle for lawful gear & gear specifications, gill net must be 6" mesh or less. The net Nathaniel was fishing with had a mesh size larger than the required 6" mesh or less. Arraignment is scheduled in Fairbanks District Court.

    On 7/14/18, Tok Wildlife Troopers cited John Carroll, age 54, of Circle for lawful gear & gear specifications, gill net must be 6" mesh or less. The net Carroll was fishing with had a mesh size larger than the required 6" mesh or less. Carroll was also cited for failing to identify subsistence finfish fish gear as required. Arraignment is scheduled in Fairbanks District Court.

    On 08/05/2018, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, cited Brian B Castle 60 YOA, of Craig, for operating unmarked commercial halibut longline buoys.  Castle was cited after his commercial halibut buoys were located near Point Baker with no markers. Arraignment is scheduled in the Petersburg District Court on 10/25/2018.

    Type: Over Limit of Rockfish

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/07/2018, Craig S Cockerell (70 YOA), of California and William C Cockerell (74 YOA), of Nevada were cited by Alaska Wildlife Troopers Ketchikan Post for retaining an over limit of rockfish. Craig Cockerell and William Cockerell were cited after they were contacted while fishing near Gull Island. Investigation revealed the fishermen had both retained an over limit of Quillback rockfish. Bail is set at $130.00 each in the Ketchikan District Court.

    On 7/24/18, Hoonah AWT cited 63 yo Hoonah resident Vernon Hill for having a personal use tanner crab pot set during the June 15-30th closed season.  Hill was issued a $110 bailable citation.

    On 7/28/18, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Prince of Wales Post conducted an investigation into a deer which had been shot in the Shaan Seet Trailer Court in Craig. The investigation led to Dominic Marcangelo (25 y/o) of Craig being charged on 7/31/18 with taking a deer closed season and unlawful possession. He was issued a summons to appear in the Prince of Wales District Court.

    Type: Unlawfully pull a personal use shrimp pot that was improperly marked during a Sport Fishing charter.

    On 7/25/18, Hoonah AWT cited 49 yo Gustavus resident Steven Petty for pulling personal use shrimp pots that were marked with his name during a Sport Fishing charter.   Petty was given a court date of August 30 in the Hoonah Court.

    Type: Search and Rescue

    Dispatch Text:

    On 08/08/18 at 1557 hours, Search and rescue operations started for a person that sustained an injured ankle while hiking on Little O’Malley Ridge near the Glenn Alps Flat Top parking area in Anchorage. Marie Piscitelli (age 57 of Anchorage, AK) injured her ankle bad enough that she was not able to walk. An Alaska State Parks Ranger law enforcement officer was in the area on a four-wheeler off road vehicle. The Ranger transported Piscitelli to the parking lot area. A friend of Piscitelli’s transported her to an Anchorage area urgent care clinic.
