AK18066415Location: WasillaType: Theft 4th
On 9/13/2018 at approximately 1754 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft in the area of Lakeview Rd. in Wasilla. Investigation revealed more than $40 of gasoline was stolen from the area. The case in currently under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

AK18066457Location: WasillaType: Fail to Stop, MICS 2, Federal Warrant
On 9/14/18 at approximately 0225 hours, the Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 1998 GMC Jimmy near the intersection of the Parks Hwy and Knik Goose Bay Rd (KGB) for
speeding. The vehicle failed to yield travelling in excess of the speed limit southbound on KGB Rd. While attempting to turn north on to Vine Road, the vehicle went into the ditch and crashed into a telephone pole. The driver, Sedric Williams age 39, of Anchorage, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Further investigation revealed Sedric had an outstanding federal arrest warrant for firearm theft and drug conspiracy. Sedric was arrested, medically cleared, and remanded to MSPT where he was held without bail.

AK18066646Location: PalmerType: Warrant Arrest
On 09/14/2018 at approximately 1545 hours, Tenton Downs age 20, turned himself in to the Palmer Trooper Post on an outstanding arrest warrant. Downs was arrested for the warrant on charges of Burglary 1, Theft 2, MIW 3, and Criminal Mischief 5. Downs was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held on $250 bail.

AK18066311Location: Funny RiverType: PLANE CRASH/SAR
On 09/13/2018, at 1413 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received report from Anchorage Air Traffic Control that a passenger plane, enroute to Soldotna had suffered engine failure and was unable to land at Soldotna Airport. The last known location provided placed the plane approximately 5 miles East of Soldotna Airport. Telephone contact with the Pilot confirmed there were no reported injuries, all 4 persons on board had been accounted for, and the plane did in fact crash land into the swamp area approximately 1 mile SE of 8 mile Funny River Road. Alaska Rescue Coordination Center was notified and AST Helo 3 was placed on standby for the incident. AST Patrol units, along with U.S. Fish and Wildlife responded to the area and located the 4 survivors standing on the belly of the downed Cessna 180. The single engine plane was overturned on its top in 3-4 feet of water, and surrounded by swamp lands. AST Patrol units along with U.S. Fish and Wildlife setup a safe landing zone for Helo 3, then entered the water, and assisted in the extraction of the 4 survivors from the downed aircraft. Helo 3 arrived on scene at 1540 hours, and conducted two Sorties between the crash scene and Soldotna Airport extracting the 4 survivors. The survivors were dropped off to family members in good health, and are identified as follows: Terry Moxey-PILOT (75 of Sterling), Jacqueline Moxey (81 of Sterling), David Savoie (84 of Idaho), and Karen Savoie (79 of Idaho). SAR complete at 1657 hours, and Helo 3 returned to base. FAA, and NTSB have been notified of the plane crash.

AK18066237Location: Beaver Creek - GMU25CType: Removing Antlers from Kill Site before Meat/No Evidence of Sex
On 09/10/18 at approximately 2040 hours, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Vicky Musgrave, age 63 of Indian, after she shot a bull moose. Investigation revealed Musgrave removed the antlers from the kill site prior to salvaging all the edible meat as required and failed to leave the evidence of sex attached to the moose as required. Musgrave was issued a summons with a mandatory court date in the Fairbanks District Court on 10/02/18 at 0900hours and a citation with bail set at $160 for the violations.

On 09/10/18 at approximately 1838 hours, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Joseph Wilson, age 27 of Clovis NM, after he shot a bull moose. Investigation revealed Wilson failed to leave the rib meat naturally attached to the bone and failed to validate his harvest ticket as required. Wilson was issued a summons with a mandatory court date in the Fairbanks District Court on 10/02/18 at 0900 hours and a citation with bail set at $160 for the violations.

On 09/10/18 at approximately 1738 hours, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Phillip Wulff, age 52 of Eagle River after he shot a bull moose. Investigation revealed Wulff failed to leave the rib meat naturally attached to the bone and failed to validate his harvest ticket as required. Wulff was issued a summons with a mandatory court date in the Fairbanks District Court on 10/02/18 at 0900 hours and a citation with bail set at $160 for the violations.

AK18065937Location: Butte CreekType: Take Sub-Legal Bull Moose
On 9-14-2018 Mat-Su West Wildlife Troopers received a phone call from John Krebs, age 31, from Palmer, Alaska. Krebs self-reported taking a sub-legal size bull moose in the GMU13 hunt area near Butte Creek on 9-11-2018. Krebs was subsequently issued a summons in the Nenana District Court for taking a sub-legal Bull moose and given an arraignment date for 10-15-2018. The moose was seized and donated to a local charity, the antlers were held as evidence.
