    On 9/30/2018 at approximately 1753 hours, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a death in Mountain Village.  Troopers from Bethel responded to the village.  Investigation revealed Mitch Waskey (age 29 of Mountain Village) was deceased.  The death does not appear to be suspicious at this time.  Next of kin were on scene and already aware of the death.  The body is being sent to the medical examiners office in Anchorage.

    On 9/30/18 at about 1845 hours, Bethel AWT received a report from Renfros Alaskan Adventures that two transported hunters who had been on an UN-guided hunt had moose meat that didn't match up with the antlers when picked up in the field.  Investigation indicated  Matthew Kelley, 42 of Bolton MA had taken a smaller bull moose on 9/27/18 and then on 9/30/18 took a larger bull moose; removing only the antlers from the second moose.  Kelley was charged with Wanton Waste (moose), take moose over bag limit, unlawful possession and transportation, failing to affix big game locking tag and failure to validate moose harvest ticket.  His hunting partner, Michael Dagilus, 44 of Leyden MA was also charged with wanton waste in this crime.  Court was set on for October 1, 2018 in Bethel District Court.

    On 9/30/18 at about 1845 hours, while investigating AK18070982 Bethel AWT discovered that Michael Dagilus, 44 of leyden MA had taken a bull moose on 9/19/18 and had failed to validate his moose harvest ticket.  Dagilus was issued a citation for failing to validate his moose harvest ticket with a court date of 10/1/18 to correspond with his mandatory court date in AK18070982.

    On September 23, 2018 Fairbanks Wildlife Trooper contacted Mark Mikols, age 53, of Homer, AK on the Ferry Trail near Clear, AK.  Mikols was observed taking a moose on and from the roadway.  Mikols was issued a citation for taking game on, from, or across the roadway with bail set at $310 in the Nenana Court.

    Type: Fail to leave evidence of sex naturally attached

    On September 25, 2018, at approximately 1533 hours, a Fairbanks-based Alaska Wildlife Trooper contacted Paul Marinucci, age 33, of Anchorage during a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed Marinucci failed to leave the evidence of sex attached to the bull moose he harvested a few days prior from GMU25B. Marinicci was issued a citation with bail set at $160 in the Nenana District Court for the violation.
