Judicial Services
Court Services Officers
The Alaska State Troopers’ Judicial Services and Court Services Officers (CSOs) play an important role in Alaska’s public safety and judicial systems. Working in close partnership with the Alaska State Troopers and court personnel, CSOs help maintain safe, orderly court operations and support the administration of justice in communities across the state.
CSOs are responsible for providing security in and around court facilities, helping protect judges, staff, jurors, attorneys, and the public. They also transport and supervise prisoners during court appearances, execute warrants, and serve a variety of legal documents. Their work helps ensure court proceedings can take place safely, efficiently, and without disruption.
Assigned in both urban and rural communities, CSOs serve in a wide range of environments and are an important part of day-to-day judicial operations. Unlike Troopers, Court Services Officers are not required to transfer from the community where they are hired, allowing them to build strong local knowledge and long-term working relationships within the courts they serve.
