Court Services Officers (CSOs) are essential to the safety and efficiency of Alaska’s judicial system. Working in close partnership with the Alaska State Troopers and judicial staff, CSOs ensure secure court environments and support the administration of justice across the state. Their professionalism and specialized training make them vital to upholding the rule of law.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain security for courtrooms, judges, and court personnel.
  • Transport and supervise prisoners during court appearances.
  • Serve legal documents such as subpoenas, summonses, and eviction notices.
  • Execute arrest warrants and support civil process enforcement.
  • Foster a safe and orderly atmosphere in judicial facilities.

Pay and Benefits
Court Services Officers receive competitive salaries based on experience and location, along with a comprehensive benefits package. This includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid leave. For specific salary details, visit the Alaska Department of Public Safety recruitment page.

Duty Stations
CSOs are stationed in various locations across Alaska, including urban centers like Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau, as well as rural communities such as Bethel, Dillingham, and Nome. Duty assignments are based on operational needs and may involve working in diverse environments to serve Alaska’s widespread judicial districts. Unlike the Troopers, CSOs are not required to move from the community in which they are hired.
