The mission of the Division of Alaska Wildlife Troopers is to protect Alaska's Natural Resources through Wildlife Enforcement.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers also participate in the overall mission of the Department of Public Safety through enforcement of criminal laws and participation in Search and Rescue operations.

Be advised, due to the limited number of vacant positions, hiring directly into the Division of Alaska Wildlife Troopers occurs rarely.  However, Alaska State Troopers have the opportunity to bid into the Division of Alaska Wildlife Troopers once they have reached two years of seniority.
